A Tale of Two Summits

Where: Gamboller's Berth
When: Evening of Saturday, April 18th
What: Two captains throw two vastly different parties in order to gain supporters.
Status: About as open as it gets!

Gamboller's Berth, a wretched hive of scum and villainy. A muggy, rainy church of sin west of Empieza, where the foolish and reckless sacrifice their money and their lives. There really isn't a better place to host the party to end all parties. Both Luffy and Shiki have spent some time on this island, making preparations for their guests. Both crews welcome all comers with open arms, so come in and enjoy the fine food and finer booze. Take in the lights, the games, the extravagance, and when it's all over, shake the hand of the man you wish to give your support.

An effigy will be waiting for you when you pull into port-- a trophy of Shiki's. A naval galleon, sails broken away, hangs upside-down in mid-air. It does not bob nor sway in the breeze, save for the creaking of splintered wood where the hull was cleaved in two. You'll notice two objects hanging from the ship's deck: from the broken masts hangs the jolly roger of the "Golden Lion Pirates"; from the shipwheel, the Navy captain hangs by his neck. This is a testament of the Golden Lion's power, and a symbol of his wrath against those who stand in his way.

But keep on your guard. Gamboller's Berth is not a safe port by any means, and the locals may not take kindly to such a large foreign presence. The tides may change at any moment.

[Relatively drunk by this point Lorelai sees the boy she met her first night here and walks up and puts her free arm around his shoulder while she takes another sip from her mug]

Sting! It's good to see you again! How has the last month in this hell ocean been for you?

Horrible.

I'm always sick because of the ocean, which means I'm useless unless Draco has me suspended in midair with his magic, and that only works on clothes so my underwear rides up.

[Orders a beer and chugs it down]

Still, it's not all bad.

We're the opposite. I've gotten restless since those pirates attacked. Didn't help that I spent a week as a mermaid. This world doesn't make any sense.

[She takes a big swig of rum]

[Laughs and takes another swig of his beer.]

From the bubbles? I was turned into a kid again.

[Chugs down the rest of the rum in her mug]

I'm fucking jealous. I fell on my face about 100 times over those days.

Well, it was only week. And it's over.

Though I do miss being on ship and not feeling like I'm going to die.

That must have been a nice feeling. It wasn't exactly fun trying to learn to walk on a tail and ride bubbles. Trying to balance on that thing was not something I want to try again

Fall on my face for a few more weeks still trying to get a handle on basic living? Heck I could barely swim with that fin. It was humiliating.

Heh. Well, I'm just glad it's over. I wouldn't want to go through puberty again.

I much preferred the rain of booze. The pinching was annoying but Sanji made some pretty incredible drinks.

Seriously though I'm not kidding. Go ask Sanji for one of the minty drinks he was making with it. Who new Mint and alcohol went together so well?

Well, just another thing showing that each world's different. I got in argument with a kid who was convinced each world's magic worked the same. You should talk to him and tell him about the runes.

That's always fun. I'm on a ship with an... Alicorn... Like a mix between a unicorn and a pegasus. Regardless, the only unicorns I had met before this were horny douchebags and flaming zombies.

Picture a Unicorn in your head [pause] Ok, now light that motherfucker on fire and have it trying to kill you alongside an assload of fucking zombies. [under her breath] fucking neclord

[dryly] That sounds like loads of fun.

Anyways. What do you think of f the summits so far?

[all it did was confirm that she made the right decision joining the straw hats. The other crews had interesing people but she felt good following that idiot into whatever battles would come]

It made me glad I stuck where I am. As much of an idiot as Luffy is he brings out something in his companions. That other guy?

[Holy shit that other guy reminded her of the ambitious assholes she'd fought against in the past]

That guy's ambition is going to get him and those that follow him killed. I didn't even need to go to his summit to know that.

I went to his. He promised to spar with Roxas and I'm on babysitting duty. Besides, I wanted to know his plans, just so we're not blindsided later on.

How did you feel about it all? Anything we should look out for?

Not sure yet. He's playing host to whoever shows up. Really laying it on.

Later is when he wants to sit down and discuss stuff.

Hmph. I'm satisfied where I'm at. Luffy is an idiot but his thinking is more sound than I expected it to be. I'll trust in what he's doing.
