He nodded. "Elle thought it would be a good skill to teach me, and later she started up classes to include some of the other dragons," he said. "Like all the humans that are our dragon mages, Elle comes from outside of Corseltel."

He eyed Lyrik again. "You really are a dragon, then, huh?" He had heard that rumor around the ship somewhere in the past week. And knew better than to run his mouth, since he had slain dragons before.
Well. Just the one.

Lyrik nodded again. "Mmhmm, that's right. A water dragon, to be exact."

"...aren't you a little short for a dragon?"
Kidding aside, he tipped his head in a knowing nod. "Getting a sword is only the first step. You probably need some practice too." He stopped short of openly offering, since to Zoro, it wasn't his job train all the up-and-comers. He wouldn't say no if Lyrik asked, though. Surely the kid had seen him wearing his three swords around the ship, he only really set them aside to exercise and to sleep.

There was some hesitation as he picked up on that potential offer. The last thing Lyrik wanted was to be a burden to anyone, and he could only use water magic to a certain extent. Besides...if this crew had a tendency to run into battles, he didn't want to be caught flat-footed.
"...you're right. I haven't gotten to do so very much before most of Captain Harlock's crew vanished. I...do want to make sure I'm prepared, if...if something does happen."

Well okay then. Zoro only really knew dragons from legend, where they were usually centuries old and huge and angry. Come to think of it, he didn't even know how old the one he killed on Punk Hazard could have been. Huh.
He pulled the weight to his chest a few more times and then wondered, "What can you do with water magic, anyway?" Just to be sure. He liked testing out people's abilities.

"Oh, well...I can manipulate water, basically." He glanced towards where he'd left a bucket of water and mop, pointing. The water leapt up from the bucket, trailing in the air like a snake before splashing on the deck. With a brief sparkle, the water then suddenly jumped from the wooden surface, a fine spray that cast a brief rainbow in the sunlight, leaving the deck completely dry.

"And nobody figured out how to use that to your advantage in the middle of the ocean?"
Little or not, this dragon could be stupidly powerful when surrounded by water. Between him and Celestia's magic, plus Nami's weather skills, they could be an unstoppable force.
Zoro lowered the weight to the deck and let it rest with a thud and a creak of the deck's boards. "I don't got much to offer, just swordsmanship. But I think you just landed yourself on the right crew, kid."

He thought for a moment. "Ah...I also helped Captain Harlock underwater when we went with Miss Keimi to destroy that altar beneath the ocean."
Lyrik watched as Zoro set his weight back down, wincing a little at the sound as he hoped it wouldn't go straight through the deck. "You think so..?" he asked. "...um. Would you mind teaching me, Zoro? If...we're going to be facing battle as much as you say, then I don't want to get in anyone's way."

He looked away across the deck, as if searching for someone, and then nodded. "Yeah, all right," he sighed. "I taught Keimi a few things, I can spar with you and see what you got. You should also talk to Nami and Celestia. They've got abilities that might work with your magic."

"I'd appreciate it! Thank you!" he piped.

With that, he started on a new set of reps, giving Lyrik the space to go back to his cleaning if he wanted.

Of course, some lesser commoners might not even be able to follow their movements with their eyes. Perhaps it would be a test to see just how skilled Lyrik already was.

Giving Zoro a quick bow, he turned to resume his sweeping so he could get on with mopping next.
