     Lyrik's brows lifted at that. "Ah, we have no Nay-Kobolds as you mentioned, but we do have Kobolds. And then there are sprites, spirits and winged folk."

"We have winged people as well. The Wingers of two rivers were incredible people. Even though they were horribly oppressed they still stood up for their city." She replied with a smile. "They were the true heroes of one of the hardest battles I've ever been a part of."

     "Battles...Were there a lot of those?" he asked. "And...have you been in many with this crew? I've heard that they enjoy getting into fights." Not something Lyrik was certain that he looked forward to.

"I've been keeping the treasures of my people safe from plunderers my whole life which led to me fighting in 3 wars at this point. I've seen a lot of suffering but the right side always won." She replies with a somber tone. "Luffy reminds me a bit of some of the men I've followed. It's why I feel like I can trust the people here with my life."

     "Oh..." Three wars.. Lyrik couldn't imagine how it would be. Fights here, yes, but of wars back home, there was only one big one he'd read about that involved dragons and the beast people.

     "The last war the dragons had ever been in was over hundreds of years ago..." And when it came to fights, there really weren't any in Corseltel. The most conflict within recent years had probably been when the general of the winter sprites had challenged Maciel to a duel.

"There is a lot of upheaval in my world. A lot of fighting over the true forms of the runes" she replies while pointing at the back of her hand. What looks like a tattoo of a lightning bold surrounded in flames. "Our world was created by the True Runes. Something like I have only holds a fraction of their power."

     He tilted his head at that. "Runes?" he repeated, peering then at Lorelai's hand as she extended it for him to see. "But...if such True Runes could create a world, how is it that people can fight to claim them?"

"It's not just a battle to claim them. Their will also controls the fate of those who wield them. In all the wars I've been involved in the power of a true rune was at the center of it." she replied with a somber tone.

"The history of my world is a fascinating one, that's why I've dedicated my life to studying it.

     "Wouldn't it just be better if they were left alone? If people didn't seek them out, then maybe there wouldn't be so many wars... But I guess that'd mean convincing people not to look for them, huh..."

"That would be the true but they seem to have the ability to draw people to them. They choose their bearers. I could grab one and nothing would happen while the person next to me could find it end up choosing them."

     Lyrik blinked. "So...they're sentient, you mean?" How troublesome! He supposed it kind of reminded him of the wind dragon mage's mother and her tendency to drop people off in Corseltel. It was how they'd gotten two of their current dragon mages after all.

"I'm pretty sure. If anything the Night Rune proves that. Jackass sword never stops talking and it's always talking down to people."

     "Wow, a talking sword?" The young dragon wondered how a powerful rune could become a sword, but then he supposed if they possessed such power as Lorelai had mentioned, they could do whatever they pleased.

"It's really cool until you hear him talk." She scoffed. "Arrogant bastard was the worst."

     Lyrik chuckled. "Sounds like an interesting sword all right. Was he actually used as a weapon?" He imagined it was probably pretty disorienting to be swung around as one.

"Yep, swung around by one of my old drinking pals. The bane of the undead."

     "Oh my. I hope he wasn't drunk while fighting with that poor sword." People could get scary when drunk. His dragon mage was one such example, after all!

"With Viktor you could never tell. That guy drank more than I do." she replied with a bit of a smirk. Because holy shit, she drinks a lot.

     That really didn't explain much, and yet at the same time told Lyrik all he felt he needed to know. "Ah..."
