[Roxas promises. He's a little worried about Selphie, but he's easily distracted with the other presents.]

Nah, you do your jobs, I do mine. Same as always.

[Having Roxas around would mean they wouldn't be able to talk about spy work. He doesn't mind Roxas knowing that he's keeping tabs on the journals for Thatch, but he doesn't want him to know how he came about getting that assignment.

Lea smacks Roxas on the shoulder.]

No more talk about work.

[Roxas rolls his eyes.]

You always say stuff like that!

Because I don't wanna talk about work! Go get some more cookies or something!

[He always distracted Roxas with food before, too.]

[Roxas is nothing less than obedient, of course. He gets the cookies and comes back, offering one to Lea.]

Fine. Then tell me what to talk to you about.

[Lea pops the cookie in his mouth and shrugs, helpful as ever.]

It's your birthday.

[booyaka_boom]

*Selphie looks rather alarmed at his suggestion and shakes her head furiously*

Oh, no, Ikki please don't! You guys were having so much fun until I came along and ruined everything! I can just go lie down myself, really, it's fine.

*Her head hangs wirh guilt, feeling horrible for doing this to them, bit mostly for Roxas. But Ikki won't let her refuse, and an argument at the party would be even worse. So she just nods her consent*

Okay. Well, happy birthday, Roxas. Enjoy your icecream cake!

[Hmm, Roxas thinks.]

Maybe I should go open my other presents! I'll talk to you later, okay Lea?

[Lea gives him a smile and a wave.]

That sounds rather crude. Why would you insinuate that I did such a thing? You weren't even paying attention!

[Pinkie comes along, dancing across the deck to her own beat, skillfully dancing around Selphie before continuing on her way!]

I have some ideas, like pin-the-tail-on-the-pony or a conga line, but do you have any ideas?! We could use them RIGHT NOW!

Well you're a STINKY-FACE! [Pinkie sticks out her tongue, complete with blowing a raspberry, and walks off.] THe nerve!

[Aya sees the angle and makes a forward roll under Roxas, avoiding the attack before it lands. As he rolls onto his feet, now behind Roxas, and rushes in, aiming for the back of his knees. He won't use the sharp side of his sword, fortunately.]

[Aya makes contact, but just. Roxas isn't the type of person to put up with being caught from behind. Oathkeeper is dug into the floor and he uses the sword to swing himself around and slash Oblivion at Aya from his side. His techniques lack refinement and practice, a little rough around the edges, but Roxas is fast and agile which makes up for it.]

*Also, holding onto Kai's arm is helping her make sure that she's standing straight and not falling over. But she's managing and happy to stride down to wherever they'll find shoes*

Arranged? What? You mean, like, someone tells them who they're gonna marry?

*There is total outrage obvious here*

[ACCIDENTALLY HERE, idek, he missed the memo but managed to show up anyway. He'll just wander up to Roxas at some point.]

[It's okay, he can have the whole story because it's pretty exciting.]

Yesterday, I met a pink pony, she's around here somewhere and she told me about birthday parties and she said I could have my birthday today and she made me a party!

Are you sure about that? *On her heels, Selphie attempts a body builder pose, then she relaxes her arms and laughs*

I won't! And if I do, well, it'll be okay so long as I don't ruin the shoes!

Oh... Yeah. I guess even with heels on I'm not really hot enough for pony men. But that's okay, because... Well, no offense or anything, but I prefer my men to be 100% human.

*She blinks as she says this - her current love interest is a phoenix - but that's technically human, right?*

You're right! But that's why I'm practising out here! I'll probably only need these for land, though, when I'm asked out for a romantic dinner or something.

*Logics, and she knows that this is extremely unlikely*

*And that was some pretty good dancing! Selphie would have usually joined in, but this time she just watched, eyes narrowing*

I've always wanted to make a piñata, but I don't think we have time...

[She's going to have to think about this one.]

Oh! Maybe we could have contests like the do on game shows! Like who can roll an egg the farthest with a tray or how many rubber bands you can stick on your face!

[It takes a second to process why Selphie is so mad. Kai's used to it just being the way of things for her social class.]

It's a pretty common thing, especially if you need to make a political alliance or something. I guess peasants and merchants don't really have to do that kind of thing, but for us it's how it's done. Sometimes you get lucky and land a good one or at least one that's never home if he's not, but it's not like you get a whole lot of say in the matter. If you're like me and you're family's not really important, you just sort of have to hope someone notices you.

As the only ponies here are myself and Pinkie Pie, I don't believe you have to worry about the possibility. Though I think you might be able to charm them, pony or human or otherwise. Personality goes a long way.
