[While most of their crew were either crashing planes into their ship or down at the hot springs on some tour, Aya decided to take some time for himself while he could. Walking down to the shore, he doesn't expect to see Selphie already there. She seems pretty preoccupied with...something.]

[As he gets closer, he sees that she's wearing heels. On a sandy pathway. Even Aya knows that's a bit dangerous. He doesn't want to break her concentration just yet, so he stands at a distance away. Close enough that she could notice him naturally, but far away enough for her to concentrate on her task.]

[booyaka_boom]

*Selphie does catch sight of Aya in the corner of her eye, and while she would normally bounce over to say hello, this time she's much to busy for that. She hopes he understands. Selphie has drawn a line across the path that is the length she plans to be able to master in heels.

She's walking closer and closer towards Aya, and she's nearly made it when her ankle buckles, the book goes tumbling, and Selphie almost goes with it, but she holds out her arms to try and rebalance herself*

I didn't fall!

[She may have not fallen, but the books sure did make it to his feet. Not that he minds, as he was more concerned with her falling. Aya was prepared to catch her if need be, but she managed to not fall after all.]

[So, he applauds her.]

Is there a point for all of this?

[booyaka_boom]

*Selphie trots, because really it is like some kind of animal trotting, over to Aya, and bends down carefully to scoop up the book*

Sorry, Aya, I thought I was out of the way!

*Because she had a feeling something disasterous might happen with all of this. At his question she wrinkles up her nose, because really that should be obvious. He had watched her, hadn't he?*

Walking in heels is good for you - well, for women. It elongates the leg, and makes a walk looking much more appealing. Also, it makes me taller, see?

*She may or may not be quoting, or at least paraphrasing, things that Grell might have told her*

...my gosh Selphie is a good student... ._.;

[When she explains her walking in heels makes her look more appealing, Aya can't help but think she looked more like a giraffe galloping in the plains...]

You're definitely taller. [He helps pick up a book or two and hands them to Selphie.] But why do you want to be...um...taller?

Yes, she is learning!!

*Just don't tell her that, Aya. It's much safer that way. She definitely does look a bit more like a baby giraffe unused to walking, but she's imagining otherwise*

Thanks! *Selphie grins as she takes the books from him, pleased with her progressing* Well, I'm sure you have noticed that I'm pretty short. It's just nice to feel a little more...graceful.

[He rubs the back of his neck briefly.] Well, I'm taller than most people back home, though, so I didn't really notice.

Is there another way of feeling more graceful outside of heels?

*Selphie is really, seriously considering this question. It's a very important one after all, and maybe there's some way that she just hasn't realised yet. Finally though, she frowns a little and shakes her head*

Nopes. There isn't.

Ah... [Guess there's no convincing her.] How long have you been doing this?

[booyaka_boom]

*Selphie raises a brow at that question, like she was doing something weird or unusual*

Uhm, for about... twenty minutes?

[formerabyssinian]

[She is doing something weird and unusual.]

Do you think you need some help?

[booyaka_boom]

You want to help me walk in high heels?

*Selphie giggles at that and looks down at her feet*

You wanna try?

[formerabyssinian]

No. [He can already tell they aren't comfortable, nor functional.] But I can give you advice as you walk. [There aren't mirrors around, so how else will she know what she's doing right?]

[booyaka_boom]

Aya, how much do you actually know about how to walk on heels?

*She is wondering really what kind of interest he has in these shoes... But she smiles and is happy for some advice*

Okay! But you better have me walking gorgeous by the time I'm done!

*And she shuffles to the end of the line she drew, ready to start again*

I know plenty about walking with a straight back. [He has no real interest, but if she's gonna walk in them, he may as well make sure she doesn't hurt herself too badly because of silly shoes.]

[Aya waits towards the middle of the line, since it would be hard to really see what needs improvement from directly in front.]

[booyaka_boom]

That's good for your posture, you know! *She grins, and she knows that he's probably very well aware of the fact. So she straightens her back too, and that seems to make the walking thing a little bit easier. And off she goes, trying to keep her head up, rather than looking at her feet*

Is it working?

[Aya watches carefully. Selphie is definitely making her back straight, yet...]

Relax your shoulders a bit.

[booyaka_boom]

*She slows down her walk, lifting her shoulders into a shrug before giving them a shake, hoping they look more relaxed now*

Better?

[formerabyssinian]

[Aya nods with a soft smile.]

Just don't think too much about walking.

[booyaka_boom]

*Selphie just laughs at that, and as she's busy laughing at Aya, she's walking much better than better*

Are you sure you don't have any experience on these things?

[formerabyssinian]

I'm pretty sure, unless someone hypnotized me without letting me know. [Which...could have been possible. He grins lightly, noticing that she was walking a lot better.] Think about it. How often do you really think about just moving your legs?

[booyaka_boom]

Ooh! Maybe they did! Maybe you secretly do this in the middle of the night!

*Eventually she comes to the end of her walk and stops, striking a pose with her hands on her hips*

Pretty much never!

*But that's probably because she's never really given much thought to what her legs looked like before*

[formerabyssinian]

...I really hope not. [Now isn't the time to wish your teammates were actually here to ask them, Aya.]

Then all you'll need to worry about is is getting used to the shoes. [She was right, though. The heels do elongate the legs.]

[booyaka_boom]

Don't worry, if I ever see you up at night doing anything like that when you're asleep, I'll be sure to wake you up! Right after I've taken some pictures.

*She grins, giving a quick salute, to show that she means business, and she'd stick by her word*

Huh. That seems much easier than I first thought.

*Glancing down at her legs, she starts tapping the balls of her feet*

Think it's worth it to keep trying, though?
