Who: The Crew of The Shepherd
Where: Various locations
When: Month of January
What: General crew log
Warnings: None at the moment; EDIT: attempted homicide, violence, and all around insanity, in accordance with the new event
Style: Whichever you feel like
Status: Closed to crew members
And so, at the beginning of January, the Shepherd set off from Isle Impieze back to Green Breeze Island, intent on revisiting what they'd discovered there; there were new crew members after all (in fact, the crew was almost completely different at this point), so there was more than enough justification for it. It would take some time reaching it, but the ship's supplies were well stocked so that wouldn't be an issue at all.
That wasn't the only change, however. The crew had since elected a new captain, and as such, this voyage was a proving grounds for the new status quo.

January 3rd - early afternoon?
But in the wake of the eerie tranquility that had followed those few minutes of chaos, he wanders out again, feeling simultaneously calm yet troubled. Having left his journal inside, he thankfully misses the hissing voice issuing from the pages.
It's a warm day for winter, so -- appropriately bundled -- Hubert remains on deck to enjoy the weather. He leans on the ship's railings, gazing at the horizon. Or rather, in his mind: gazing at what isn't on the horizon.
The sky, after all, is so strangely empty without Foselos stretching across it.]

[Hubert would hear Mana's voice as she approached him]
Is something wrong? Can I help you with anything?

[He seems a little uncertain when he turns around to face her, as though he doesn't know what to say. Or if he even wants to say what's on his mind.]

[she smiled brightly]
Why not come down to the galley and let me make you something yummy?
no subject
Okay, sure. What're you gonna make?
[
RICE OMELETTES PLEASE LET IT BE RICE OMELETTES]and thus the greatest cross canon coincidence came to pass
it's so beautiful
You...you know how to make that?

[aaaah he's legit excited now]

Alright then! Follow me to the galley and let big sis Mana take care of everything!

[Lead the way, big sis Mana. Hubert will follow after you like a duckling. A blue duckling. With a craving for omurice.]
Re: January 3rd - early afternoon?
[Asbel yawns and stretches as he makes his way across the deck, clambering up onto the railing beside Hubert so his legs hang off behind him; he doesn't seem the least bit troubled. After staring off at sea for all of five seconds, he grows bored and turns his attention back on his brother.]
What's up, Hubert? You look like you're thinking too hard about something.
no subject
Oh...it's nothing. I think it's still a little weird to not see Foselos in the sky anymore.
[You'd think he would've gotten used to it these past few months already.]
no subject
[He grins at Hubert, hoping that he'll quit being all quiet and lost in thought.]

Hey... Come on, it's not like the sky's gonna fall just because Foselos isn't there or anything. If it was, it would've happened already!
no subject
It's not that, it's just...
[Hubert trails off, and shivers as a cold breeze blows through.]
Asbel, do you miss being home?
no subject
[Oh! He gets it now! Hubert must be homesick; that's gotta be it.]
Well sure, I guess I do a little. It'd be nice to know that our friends are okay, and to sleep in a real bed again. [He raises a hand to pat Hubert's shoulder.] But don't worry! We'll find a way back before you know it. In the meantime, think of it as a vacation. Or, um, studying abroad!
no subject
though really the only place he could study abroad is in Strahta since everyone's still at war with Fendel and what is having more than three countries on Ephineawould be much less dangerous than this?]If you had to choose between staying here to explore and going home, you'd go home, right?
[Given Asbel's penchant for wandering around Lhant and outside of it, not to mention Asbel's expressed wish to become a knight of Windor, Hubert fears that now that his brother is away from Lhant...he'd never want to return. (Never mind that Asbel has just expressed reassurances that they'd find a way home.)]
no subject
[He wouldn't have to become the next lord if he stayed here. He could do whatever he wanted, and once he's older, he could get his own ship and hire his own crew. They could become sea knights...since pirates aren't exactly honorable, and he doesn't want to go around making other people miserable and afraid all the time. He'd rather do something to help them out!]
[But staying here also means not seeing his friends or family again, and he's not okay with that. He'd be breaking his promise to take care of Sophie - she might never remember who she is, and Dad might take her to the authorities after all. And he knows Hubert would want to go home. Also...he can't become a true knight without a king to serve.]
Of course I'd go home! I did promise Sophie I'd help find her parents. And besides, I still haven't given up on entering the knight academy one day.
no subject
Okay. [A relieved smile, childishly crooked.] I'm glad...
[So, so very glad.
(and yet still so uneasy -- )]
no subject
That's more like it! And seriously - don't be such a worrywart, Hubert. Everything'll work out okay. I promise!
no subject
[But he huddles closer to his brother for comfort, gently clasping at Asbel's sleeve.]
