What: Crew shenanigans, both light-hearted and serious, while the rest of the ships prepare for and do battle with the witch.

Status: Open to those on the Antoinete


The Antoinette is a strange ship to be on. The (wise) decision was made not to go into battle, so it has been offered as a safe haven for those unable or unwilling to join the fight against the witch.

The air of light-heartedness found might, at times, feel forced, and it is a bit. The residents have only their morale to keep them going, so that's what they rely upon.


(Please feel free to either reply to the subject headers provided or make your own! This is just a general mingle log for anyone on the Antoinette. If your character is a non-combatant who wouldn't want to go into the fight or someone injured and unable to join the fight, Kyouya has publicly offered passage, so feel free to handwave being there.

A small price to pay. Unfortunately, the best place to draw blood easily? Leaves scars with unfortunate implications.

[And then, after a slight pause, as he takes to cutting vegetables:]

Tamaki knows, but the twins don't. I don't need them freaking out, so I'd prefer they not be told.

[haruhi_fujioka]

Yeah, I can see that. [She frowns thoughtfully.] Maybe you could wear a strip of leather or something around your wrist? Just for extra protection?

[A thought occurs to her...]

Was Tamaki the vampire?

[So perceptive, except when it concerns her.

Which is why Kyouya doesn't bother to lie, keeping his attention on the vegetables and the knife.]

I had to basically force the first drink down his throat.

[haruhi_fujioka]

[Oh boy. That must have been a real pain. Regular Tamaki is a handful, but vampire Tamaki?

She shudders to think.]

For his own good.

He was, of course, a complete idiot.

Worried that it was going to hurt me when he could barely even sit up. And, well. Once Tamaki gets an idea in his head, you and I know how well he listens to reason.

And he needed to be awake to drink the blood. Otherwise he would've choked.

[She has a lot of sympathy for Kyouya.]

How did you manage to avoid the fog?

[Kyouya's hand stills with the knife. He finishes the cut and then just... doesn't move.

But his fingers tense around the hilt of it.]

The fog was everywhere.

There was a ghost ship or... something. These things boarded us and were everywhere, but... only one of us got touched by them. So only one of us was affected.

[It's all said very evenly, but... Kyouya puts the knife down on the cutting board in hopes of hiding a tremor in his hand. One of many instances of helplessness. Of being utterly useless to anyone.

Which might have been part of his reasoning for taking care of Tamaki on his own.]

I didn't know it had even happened until two days later.

[Kyouya might have his peculiarities, but Haruhi knows he cares about all of their well-being. It had to drive him nuts to see Tamaki suffering.

Cautiously, she raises a hand and lays it on his shoulder.]

You did your best. Not many people would go that far for anyone! [Her hand falls away and she gasps, lowering the flame on one of the pots.] I forgot about this!

[The pot is jolted just enough to spill some of the hot liquid onto her hand.]

[It's his turn, a moment later, to take her wrist. And apply a cool cloth to wipe away the liquid that splashed onto her and soothe the skin. Not too cold, nothing to shock it. Just to help regulate the temperature and keep the stinging down.]

Careful.

[haruhi_fujioka]

[She falls silent, watching how he takes care of the situation so deftly.]

…thank you. [Her hand will be pink, but he definitely took the original sting out of it.]

I guess I need to learn a thing or two in the kitchen too.

[Kyouya smiles faintly. A quick expression that fades into a calm neutral.

They've changed. All of them. Even her. None of them are what they were the day she walked into their club.]

We all need help sometimes.

That's true! [She smiles and goes back to stirring in more ingredients.] I'm glad I have a chance to learn.
