Friends are the family you choose

Who: Antoinette crew and others (mostly non-combatants who have joined temporarily)
Where: The Antoinette
When: Jan 20th-28thish
What: Crew shenanigans, both light-hearted and serious, while the rest of the ships prepare for and do battle with the witch.
Warnings: Possible strong language, will amend as necessary
Status: Open to those on the Antoinete

The Antoinette is a strange ship to be on. The (wise) decision was made not to go into battle, so it has been offered as a safe haven for those unable or unwilling to join the fight against the witch.

The air of light-heartedness found might, at times, feel forced, and it is a bit. The residents have only their morale to keep them going, so that's what they rely upon.

(Please feel free to either reply to the subject headers provided or make your own! This is just a general mingle log for anyone on the Antoinette. If your character is a non-combatant who wouldn't want to go into the fight or someone injured and unable to join the fight, Kyouya has publicly offered passage, so feel free to handwave being there.

But daddy is just so happy~!!! [There was a familiar pout, then laughter, and excessive clinging]

...[Before he could say anything else, he was yanked away from Haruhi, his arms still trying to reach for her even when he was being successfully taken away.

He then looks up at Hikaru with his usual innocent smile.] But you've always been good at this, haven't you?

I guess that's true. I'm sorry, Hikaru. [She is too busy examining the damage to notice how rough Hikaru is with Tamaki. However his comment brings her attention back. Hunkering down in the barrel, she huffs.]

You're lucky you didn't re-break your ribs or something. [She was his cushion.] I have an idea!

[Wiggling out of the barrel, she grabs a knife and adds Honey holding a lei of flowers. The flowers halfway obscure Mori's face, hiding the mistake.]

[He scowls at Tamaki, ready to complain further - but then Haruhi moves, and before he can stop her, adds Honey and the lei. It's... better than he was expecting, actually. He's genuinely surprised.]

That's... not too bad.

[She certainly isn't talented at art, but the carving doesn't have to be intricate. The face looks mostly like Honey anyway and the flowers on the lei are simplistic.]

It's something. [She flushes and scratches the back of her neck.]

I really didn't break anything! I promise! [He apologizes with his usual over-the-top dramatics.

Though for a few moments he was silent and watched Haruhi work.]

THAT'S AMAZING!!!!

… [She gives him a flustered look, holding up her hands.] That doesn't make you immune to doing it.

[Her face heats up and she turns away.] No, it's not. Not at all.

[He gives Haruhi his usual hair flip of confidence and charming smile.] Don't worry, I'll be alright.

Yes!!! Yes!! YES IT IS!!!

[Almost immediately he takes Haruhi in between his arms and twirls her.]

...

[Oh no. Stop it. She yelps and clings to him, trying to stay steady.]

Is th-this really necessary?

YEEEES!!!

[He twirls her while saying 'So good' repeatedly. But really, this is the only moment he has enough energy and health to actually finally give his Haruhi a proper welcome.]

I missed you!

[The twirling makes her dizzy and she closes her eyes, her face turning red. No no no, he has lost his mind, why is he holding her like this…?!]

I can't say I missed you since I didn't know you were missing.

[He holds her close, but he stops spinning. He places a hand on her head and gently petted her brown hair.]

That's okay. You were actually safer there. I'm sorry if I missed you so much that you ended up here.

[Unfortunately Tamaki blames himself for Haruhi's arrival here. Same thing with Hikaru. Maybe Kaoru and Tamaki missed the both of them so much that Davy Jones decided to bring them here.]

Don't be stupid. [It's cruel, but it's the truth. She doesn't blame anyone for being here.] If you're all here, you don't need to be alone. I can help you by cooking.

[And making sure they don't die or starve to death.]

Without me, you'd get scurvy in no time.

[Where did that lightning bolt come from? Tamaki freezes instantly at that comment. However when Haruhi's words dawned on him.]

We... we can have Haruhi's cooking always???

Ah.. scurvy..?

Maybe not always, but for now. [She really doesn't mind and she isn't bad at it.] You need to have plenty of Vitamin C.

Arigatou~!!!!! [Almost instantly there was a heartfelt embrace given to Haruhi.]

Where do we get that? [Its handed to him every morning with breakfast. But none of those people who served him was here.]

[She gives a small huff and awkwardly pats his back.]

I think Kyouya will be able to cook soon too. He's a fast learner.

[Really? She hides a smile behind her hand.]

In oranges and orange juice mainly...

[Suddenly there was a rather cold grip on Haruhi's shoulders.]

Did you tell him that Vermin is not a kind of meat you should place on stew?

[...]

[He did not realize this. This is not Tamaki being obnoxious.]

Wow... commoners sure know a lot about alternatives...

[Her eyes widen and she pales.] He didn't...

[Disgusting.]

Were you low on supplies?

[Let there be a reason.]

I thought it was well known that oranges had a lot of Vitamin C?

I'm not sure. At the time, I never really checked.

[Then he lets out a sigh.] It was warm though...

[And Hikaru was so sure it was Vermin.]

We don't really eat oranges for the Vitamin C in it. We always get people giving us vitamins we need to have for the whole day.

[She shudders and grimaces.]

I won't cook Vermin. [They're lucky they weren't sick!] You might get tired of fish, but that's what I'll use mostly.

[Blinking, she nods.]

But you know those vitamins come from food, right?

And that is most appreciated!!! We'll try to get different varieties. I'll make sure to mention it to Kyouya. So we can get meat in the menu as well.

Ah...[Father's pride.] of course I did!

I can talk to him about it too. [That's said thoughtfully.] There are some varieties of fish that taste like chicken or beef.

[Not that she knows the name of said fish.]

You shouldn't overdose on any vitamin. That can be bad too.

Fish that tastes like.. like... I WANT TO TASTE THAT! Is that some commoner fish? Where you get two tastes for the price of one?

I will make sure not to overdose!

If I can find it, I'll cook it for you. [She rolls her eyes.] It's not a commoner fish. It's a regular fish.

That's good. The Host Club needs you at your best.

Ah! Then please cook it~! I'm sure everyone would love it. And thank you. [There's a slight reddening of the face.] I'll do that~!

By the way.. uhm... [Before he forgets. He goes to the barrel with all the blankets and places the pictures in. Then he carries it closer to Haruhi.]
