What: Crew shenanigans, both light-hearted and serious, while the rest of the ships prepare for and do battle with the witch.

The Antoinette is a strange ship to be on. The (wise) decision was made not to go into battle, so it has been offered as a safe haven for those unable or unwilling to join the fight against the witch.

The air of light-heartedness found might, at times, feel forced, and it is a bit. The residents have only their morale to keep them going, so that's what they rely upon.


(Please feel free to either reply to the subject headers provided or make your own! This is just a general mingle log for anyone on the Antoinette. If your character is a non-combatant who wouldn't want to go into the fight or someone injured and unable to join the fight, Kyouya has publicly offered passage, so feel free to handwave being there.

[Link patted the wood, twisting the tip of his sword into the wood to get a decent depth.]

This part doesn't get wet unless there's a storm. It's solid and thick. A little shallow carving isn't going to harm it.

[Okay no yeah he's gonna be trying to take that sword away from Link now.]

[Link jerked his left arm back and flipped the sword so it would twist between the boy's arms without touching him as he moved it out of his reach.]

No. You don't get to touch that.

[He's impressed, but more annoyed.]

And you don't get to dig holes in our ship!

[He's exaggerating, but hey, that's what Hitachiins do.]

I'm not digging holes. It doesn't go deeper than the catch of a nail.

[Link set his thumb to the wood and dragged it across until it caught in on of the lines of his carving.]

That doesn't hurt it at all.

You don't get to decide that! Didn't anyone ever teach you any manners? You can't just go around doing whatever you want to other people's things.

I have manners. Saria taught me them. And why can't I? It's here to be shared and used. It's not a weapon or a toy. It's a house. A water house. Everyone uses it.

It's not everyone's house; it's our house, and you're just a guest here. [A really bad one.]

Everyone still gets to use it.

[That's just how it was. Houses belonged to people, sure, but anyone in the Kokiri could come and go as they pleased and use them when they needed to.]

Only the people that we invite here get to use it. And you don't get to do whatever you want just because we're letting you stay here! This is our ship, and that means we decide what happens to it - not you.

[Link shoved his sword into it's sheath and leaned back, crossing his arms.]

Fine.

[He'd just sit there, doing nothing, staying bored.]

[Well, that's a relief. At least Hikaru won't get into trouble now.]

Like I said, I can get you some old planks or something to mess around with - just don't wreck our ship any more.

[Link firmly believed he wasn't wrecking the ship. To Hikaru, he gave a shrug. Old planks probably wouldn't be sound enough to do much with. Anything that was good on the Murderess was used to shore up the sides in case of a leak or to effect other repairs.]

[Luckily(?), Hikaru's actually been taking apart a small barrel he picked up on Isla Empieza to attempt carving some rudimentary buttons for clothes. He's not had much luck so far.

He leaves for a couple of minutes to fetch a few pieces, and as an afterthought, grabs some of the pencils that Kaoru's collected. It'll be easier for him to re-use the wood later if he can convince Link to draw, rather than carve.

When he returns, he'll unceremoniously dump the curved planks in front of Link, and hold the pencils out to him.]

You can try using these instead of your knife. They're easier to hold. [And might help you make some not-terrible drawings.]

[Link looked at the pencils and took one - just one - before speaking.]

Thank you. Can you put the wood over there? Propped up against the rail?

[He looks at the kid for a moment, then shrugs and does as asked.]
