Friends are the family you choose

Who: Antoinette crew and others (mostly non-combatants who have joined temporarily)
Where: The Antoinette
When: Jan 20th-28thish
What: Crew shenanigans, both light-hearted and serious, while the rest of the ships prepare for and do battle with the witch.
Warnings: Possible strong language, will amend as necessary
Status: Open to those on the Antoinete

The Antoinette is a strange ship to be on. The (wise) decision was made not to go into battle, so it has been offered as a safe haven for those unable or unwilling to join the fight against the witch.

The air of light-heartedness found might, at times, feel forced, and it is a bit. The residents have only their morale to keep them going, so that's what they rely upon.

(Please feel free to either reply to the subject headers provided or make your own! This is just a general mingle log for anyone on the Antoinette. If your character is a non-combatant who wouldn't want to go into the fight or someone injured and unable to join the fight, Kyouya has publicly offered passage, so feel free to handwave being there.

There were tears now as Tamaki sat on the chair opposite of Haruhi. He tried to wipe it very fast with both hands. Unlike those tears he openly shared with people, these tears actually showed more of his soul and how scared he was. "Whether it was in private or that one time in the Music Room, each time I saw his hand make contact with Kyouya's face scared me so much. It was horrible. And I couldn't... I just couldn't allow Kyouya...", his words were lost in his sobs as once more he hid his face in between his arms.

Abuse. Haruhi felt disturbed and angry. She lifted her gaze, trying not to scowl. If she upset him more, that would be...awful. He was upset enough.

"He hits him." she stood up and rested a hand on Tamaki's head, "We have to support him. He has to realize that discipline like that is not okay." which Kyouya probably knew already, "Even if his father shows up here, I'm not afraid to stop him from hitting Kyouya."

It was just wrong to let that happen - not that she blamed Tamaki for staying out of it. But a commoner had more room to misbehave - especially in a land of pirates.

He clung to Haruhi still sobbing furiously. "I care about him.. I care about him so much. I respected his decision when he told me to stay out of it. But I thought it would never follow him. I thought he wouldn't use a similar method which he knew I was so terrified from seeing"

Tamaki tried his best to wipe his tears in recollection of their argument the night before. "I could have understand after he explained, I could have let it go. But I was scared when he acted like he was justified with his actions. He thought it was right.. and that's what scared me the most"

She didn't push him away; she couldn't. Instead she held him as securely as she could, tentatively sliding her fingers over his hair. She knew she didn't like to see others upset - truly upset - but this…

It broke her heart.

Fishing for a handkerchief, she wiped at his tears for him, keeping silent while he spoke.

"He knows he isn't justified." she would be downright shocked if Kyouya tried that form of 'discipline' again. On anyone. "Link is okay. I made friends with him and he even promised to show me how to use a sword." she sighed, "He's a resilient kid. Maybe Kyouya will even end up admiring him?"

The hold was greatly appreciated as well as the handkerchief. There was something in Haruhi's words that truly comforted the Lonely Prince. He tried to give her a smile, this time more genuine than before. "I hope so.."

Tamaki tried his best to wipe away his tears as his eyes wandered off to the window and the sea beyond it. "I've known Kyouya for so long... and this sort of action really scares me. Maybe because I know he has so much kindness in him as well.. that I couldn't imagine him even doing such a thing."

"He can be kind. He doesn't like anyone to think that about him, though." which was more than a little amusing - yet, in this case, it should be comforting because it meant that Kyouya definitely had the capacity to know his actions were wrong, "Don't lose your faith in him." she peered into Tamaki's eyes, nodding encouragingly.

"He probably needs you more than ever right now." that was said thoughtfully as she moved to sit down again, "I'll do what I can to keep Link busy." she smiled a little, "He's a good kid. I've never met anyone who loves apples as much as he does."

"I won't", he said glancing back at Haruhi with an understanding look on his purple hues. "He has never left me and I have no intention of leaving him."

He then smiles at Haruhi. "Speaking of Link", he rubbed his chin a bit. "Though I know Kyouya was wrong with what he did, Link also did something wrong. So they're both getting punished. Link will be here with you in the kitchen helping you peel vegetables and anything else you need help with. At least he won't need to do anything standing"

"Works for me." Haruhi pushed the bowl of soup closer to him, "If you eat, you'll feel better." she didn't doubt that things would work out. Tamaki was being surprisingly level-headed, but maybe that was because Kyouya was involved.

"He's actually nice company." she had the patience to answer Link's questions. He definitely came from an entirely different world, which was interesting.

He was finally able to breath easy thanks to Haruhi. So he got the spoon, and made his way through the soup. Definitely better than Kyouya's cooking.

"Oh he is! I've met him when I first arrived. He's very nice actually! Very cheerful and not afraid of heights."

[personal profile] haruhi_fujioka 2014-02-13 04:39 am (UTC)(link)
"He needs looking after." she couldn't help feeling more than a little worried about him, "He's...innocent. Someone cruel could talk him into almost anything if they were clever enough." and he could end up even worse off, "I know I'm not his guardian, but I'd like to keep an eye on him for as long as I can."

Tamaki smiled at Haruhi a little gently. Those were very thoughtful words and he believed them completely. "It's not easy growing alone which could lead to complications as the person is growing up. Its not easy to keep yourself strong when you know you have nobody to depend on"
