Warnings: None yet; will be added as they occur.

The docks are usually loud and busy, but today, one ship sticks out as being particularly energetic. Those on the Antoinette are preparing a surprise for one of their crew, and they are not being quiet about it in the least. Instructions are shouted from one end of the deck to the other about decoration placement; some unlucky passers-by may wind up with rejected decorations on their heads, as anything deemed 'not good enough' will be carelessly tossed over the side of the ship.

A steady stream of food is being delivered to the Antoinette, and placed on top of a series of makeshift tables decorated with over a dozen drawings of happy tanukis, each enjoying a different meal, and each with a party hat on. Anyone who comes onto this ship and tries to eat something without permission will be swiftly descended upon by a member of the crew - this food is not to be enjoyed until the birthday girl returns.

Games have been planned; some more carefully than others. They've not managed to find a decent musician around yet, so unfortunately this party is sadly lacking in the music department - anyone with an instrument and talent would be welcomed.

All entrances to other parts of the ship have been roped off, and any attempt to explore beyond the deck will result in Trouble.

[It was fortunate he had the sense to roll his body to the side so his broken leg wasn't landed on when the rest of him hit the deck a foot below where he'd been sitting. He hit with a hissed noise that came through clenched teeth and was much quieter than the previous one.

The air was knocked out of him, but he took a couple breaths before rolling onto his back and smiling sheepishly up at Tamaki.]

Hello, Mister Tamaki. Mister Hikaru said Tono could teach me some songs. Do you know where Tono is?

[Hikaru for one is not surprised by Tamaki's sudden appearance at all. This is normal for them. Link's reaction is surprising, though, and it takes a moment for Hikaru to decide if he should help or laugh. In the end, it's the fact that Link's taught him how to throw knives that makes him decide to reach out and offer a hand to help pull Link off the ground.]

'Mister Tamaki' [he snorts at that, shaking his head. This kid is too polite when it comes to that idiot; he'll have to teach him some things, clearly]. This is Tono.

[First he looked shock at Link for falling over. He tries to help him stand as well.

And then when Hikaru spoke, Tamaki had to take a few moments to strangle his friend before he went back to Link's inquiry.]

Well, I can teach you a song or two. What instrument do you play?

That's Mister Tamaki. Why do you call him Tono?

[Link asked as he accepted the help, wincing only a little as his leg was settled back into a comfortable position.

At Tamaki's question, though, he held up his ocarina.]

The twins call me that. Ever since I can remember. It's Japanese for my Lord. Maybe cause I'm the President of our club.

[He then examines the instrument.]

That's an Ocarina, yes?

[breaks_pots]

[Link nodded, a single firm nod, in answer to the question.]

Saria gave it to me. Should I call you Tono?

[princelycharm]

If you would like. I don't really mind.

[He then examines the Ocarina.]

How good are you at playing that~!?

[breaks_pots]

[Link had been playing it for a little while already, so Tamaki may have heard it just a little through the din of the party. But even if he hadn't Link wasn't really the best judge of himself. He didn't know he was what people would consider a prodigy.]

I'm pretty good. Saria's better. But she gave me this to take with me when I left the forest.

Personally I love playing the piano. But if I draw some chords for you, will you be able to play it?

Sure.

[Link had no idea what a piano was, but he could play what was set before him.]

That's how I learned the songs I've been playing.

[A few minutes later, Tamaki comes back with Blue Danube Waltz piece, written on a piece of scratch paper from one of the old papers Celestia used to have.]

[Link looked at the notes and set the ocarina to his lips. He played it very slowly - one note after the other - once all the way through.

Then he played it again and when he played it, he played it perfectly - or as perfectly as Tamaki had written it down. When he was done, he grinned at the prince of hosts.]

That's really pretty!

[He listened at the piece thoughtfully. He had to stop himself from dancing on the spot. Link was truly knowledgeable when it came to his musical instrument.]

It is. And you played it masterfully.
