He's no Dovahkiin, that's for sure.
Who: Toothless, and a group of idiots. (The crew of the Antoinette.)
Where: Isla Empieza docks; the Antoinette
When: Backdated to February 12th, late afternoon.
What: Hikaru manages to bring home a dragon instead of any of the things he set out to buy.
Warnings: dragondragondragondragondragondragondragondragon
Style:Deep-fried ...Whatever people feel like?
Status: Open to anyone in the vicinity of the Antoinette.
It took the sacrifice of bread, cheese, and a really good bag; an entire barrel of fish; a lot of bucket removals; finding the patience to deal with inquisitive sniffing, and a lot of time to get here but finally, finally Hikaru and Toothless have arrived at the bottom of the gangway leading up to the Antoinette. It's here that Hikaru pauses, considering. He's fairly confident that the dragon can get up it without breaking it - those things were made to take much heavier loads, he's sure - but... should he really just introduce it to everyone all at once? That seems like a pretty bad idea when he thinks about it, especially if the only thing he knows about handling animals is that people should stay calm around them.
With a glance at the dragon, he decides to try and call down his crew one by one to introduce them. Knowing them, it would probably fail - but he wants to at least show Kaoru first! And at least if they do all descend at once after he tries to get them one-by-one, it's their own fault and he can't be blamed if the dragon reacts badly. Right?
He doesn't know who's on deck right now, though theoretically they all should be.
"Oi, Kaoru!" He yells out, hoping to be heard over the noise in the docks. He doesn't know who's going to answer his call first, but he can hope for his twin! He's not sure he trusts the dragon to stay put while he goes onboard to fetch anyone, so aside from using his journal, he doesn't really have any good ways of getting anyone's attention.Maybe he can convince the dragon to set something on fire, if nobody hears him.

"Nah, he won't hurt us." It's said a bit too casually; Hikaru's pretty sure that he's going to get into trouble for at least the fish bill if nothing else, but that's different to 'us'. And he's pretty sure that there's nothing Kaoru can get into trouble for on this one; it's all him this time.

As Kaoru bends down for a closer look, the dragon tilts his head. It's kind of strange, how eager these humans are to come so close to him. His tail swishes from one side to the other as he looks on.

Kaoru is artistic, okay, but that doesn't mean he's creative with naming.

Names are hard.He reaches out to poke Toothless, faintly hoping that maybe that will evoke some sort of naming idea. The swishing tail draws his attention back to the red fin, but his curiousity on that can wait. Naming comes first!
"We could always call him 'Idiot', but do you think Tono would get confused?"

for the moment. He sticks his tongue out at Kaoru, mostly because he can, and then gestures to the saddle and gear on the dragon.
"Should we call him something with a cowboy theme?" Because it seems like it's used to having a rider, and, well, Hikaru initially thought it was some kind of horse.

He's getting a little bored of sitting there, however, and all these two are doing is talking. Turning his attention away from the twins, the dragon looks around to see if there's anything else interesting to investigate while he's here.

C'mon. Hikaru has to admit that sounds cool. And Kaoru will be looking at him expectantly, not noticing at all that the dragon's attention has shifted to the rest of the ship.

He has also failed to notice the dragon's attention shift, and is in no position to try to stop it from doing anything it wants right now.

The dragon slinks along towards it, but just before he can try going up, something else catches his eye- a splash in the water. He edges along the dock, peering at the waters intently.

And then the dragon's - wait, no - Red-Winged Thunder's movements catches his attention. Kaoru pauses for a moment before asking, "can he swim?"
no subject
"I don't know," he admits openly. "He likes fish, so I guess so?" That makes sense, right? Don't most animals only like food that they can catch themselves? Still, though, he doesn't want to have to try to fish it out if it turns out it's a sinker. He releases his brother from the hug in favour of quickly walking to the dragon, hopefully getting to it before it decides to do anything like throw itself into the water. They should probably start moving him onto the ship soon, anyway, before they draw attention from outsiders.
