He's no Dovahkiin, that's for sure.
Who: Toothless, and a group of idiots. (The crew of the Antoinette.)
Where: Isla Empieza docks; the Antoinette
When: Backdated to February 12th, late afternoon.
What: Hikaru manages to bring home a dragon instead of any of the things he set out to buy.
Warnings: dragondragondragondragondragondragondragondragon
Style:Deep-fried ...Whatever people feel like?
Status: Open to anyone in the vicinity of the Antoinette.
It took the sacrifice of bread, cheese, and a really good bag; an entire barrel of fish; a lot of bucket removals; finding the patience to deal with inquisitive sniffing, and a lot of time to get here but finally, finally Hikaru and Toothless have arrived at the bottom of the gangway leading up to the Antoinette. It's here that Hikaru pauses, considering. He's fairly confident that the dragon can get up it without breaking it - those things were made to take much heavier loads, he's sure - but... should he really just introduce it to everyone all at once? That seems like a pretty bad idea when he thinks about it, especially if the only thing he knows about handling animals is that people should stay calm around them.
With a glance at the dragon, he decides to try and call down his crew one by one to introduce them. Knowing them, it would probably fail - but he wants to at least show Kaoru first! And at least if they do all descend at once after he tries to get them one-by-one, it's their own fault and he can't be blamed if the dragon reacts badly. Right?
He doesn't know who's on deck right now, though theoretically they all should be.
"Oi, Kaoru!" He yells out, hoping to be heard over the noise in the docks. He doesn't know who's going to answer his call first, but he can hope for his twin! He's not sure he trusts the dragon to stay put while he goes onboard to fetch anyone, so aside from using his journal, he doesn't really have any good ways of getting anyone's attention.Maybe he can convince the dragon to set something on fire, if nobody hears him.

Okay. So now what? He looks almost inquisitively in Hikaru's direction, but it seems like the boy's got something in mind already as he shouts at the ship. Since it seems like the dragon is expected to wait with him in the meantime, he does so, although he quickly loses interest in staring up, and looks around at more interesting things, like seagulls or the wary fisherman a few docks down.
Occasionally his tail swishes back and forth, red and black with the odd lines of leather that go up alongside of his back to the saddle, metal pieces jingling with the subtle movements.

Then there was someone calling from the docks. He glanced at his whole crew and saw that Kaoru was there. It meant that it was Hikaru. He made his excuses and he looked at Kyouya for a brief moment. A look that said, 'I'm checking it out Mommy'. Not a moment later, Tamaki was peering out towards the deck and screaming elegantly. "WHAT IS IT HI.....?"
His words however came to a sudden halt when he saw what was beside Hikaru. Was that a giant dog....with WINGS???

Wow they're all so good at identifying dragons. Big horse, giant lizard, giant dog with wings...That's not Kaoru. That's not Kaoru at all. Hikaru scowls up at Tamaki, and points him out to Toothless.
"He's a big blond idiot who doesn't know his own name. Don't ever listen to a thing he says, okay?"
Though admittedly, he's pleased with the cut-off screaming that was not at all elegant in his view. He holds a finger up to his lips for Tamaki, trying to signal to keep quiet about the dragon. He then gestures for Tamaki to come down, waving his hand at him. Just try not to shout at it, okay Tono?
In preparation, he shuffles a little closer to Toothless and aims to put his hand on the dragon again. Probably better to be close to try calming it down if Tamaki sets it off with noise? He's not sure, but he thinks that's the right thing to do.

Toothless gets up, even as Hikaru's hand is placed on him. Don't worry, he's not all worked up, but the dragon is curious at this new person. So he's going to waddle up to Tamaki to sniff at him.

He's glad to see that the dragon seems to be alright with Tamaki, and he can't help but smile in excitement. If it can get along with their
LordCaptain, then that means it should be able to get along with pretty much everyone! And that means he's one step closer to not having to argue with anyone to keep it.(no subject)

this is late but i had to
"Is it yours?"
...Go figure he'd just accept a dragon being real.

"Yep! I found him," he calls up proudly. He points Honey out helpfully, then, to Toothless; "That's Honey-senpai. If you ever wake him up, I'm not going to be responsible for what he does to you."
He then looks at the saddle on the dragon, then back to Honey, then back to the saddle. He's not
stupidbrave enough to try riding it, but maybe Honey would.no subject

And somehow, while he braced himself to come face-to-face with the entire island burning down to the griund, he wasn't expecting this... thing. Huge, black, winged, definitely not of their world...
"Hikaru, is that a dragon?" Another pause. "What the fuck." And this from the twin who swore marginally less.
no subject
Kaoru's words just make him grin, feeling quite pleased with himself. Yes, Kaoru, it's a dragon. He hasn't verified if it's the fire-breathing variety yet, but at this stage he doesn't even care - it's cool enough as it is.
"What bad language, Kaoru!" He tuts jokingly, raising a hand to place on Toothless. Then, much more earnestly; "You've gotta help me name him."
no subject
Toothless remains where he sits, almost mimicking Hikaru's grin, save a bit more gummier for lack of teeth.
no subject
"You say that like we're definitely going to keep him. What do you think Kyouya's going to say about this?"
no subject
"He's already given me permission." Well, not explicitly. "Actually, it's more like he just didn't say 'no'." Same thing as giving permission, really. The point is that Kyouya really shouldn't just humour him when Hikaru asks for something, because a month later he's apparently going to find a way to get it.
"Besides, we need something more to keep us safe around here, right? Nobody would ever attack a ship with a dragon!" Come on, it makes sense to keep him. Please Kaoru, please please please please? He'll put it back where he found it if Kaoru tells him to, but come on Kaoru, dragon.
His loses the smug look and turns to a more childishly hopeful look instead; eyes wide and earnest, shoulders brought forward, indicating his good will with his entire body. He knows his twin will see through the act right away, but dammit he wants to keep his new pet.
"Just touch him!" Hikaru's sure that once Kaoru actually interacts with the dragon, he'll come around. "It's a real life actual dragon, Kaoru! How cool is that?!"

So he steps closer to the dragon, eyeing him carefully before sticking out a hand. That's how you approach a dog, right? And they can't be that different. "Hey... Dragon. Nice to meet you."
Damnit, there's just something endearing about that gummy smile. He touches the dragon's snout for a couple seconds before slumping. "I'm going to get killed by the Shadow King because of you. We're both going to get killed. I hope you're happy."
no subject
"Nah, he won't hurt us." It's said a bit too casually; Hikaru's pretty sure that he's going to get into trouble for at least the fish bill if nothing else, but that's different to 'us'. And he's pretty sure that there's nothing Kaoru can get into trouble for on this one; it's all him this time.

Something big and black and moving.
He can't help but just stare for a moment, blank-faced and simply... bewildered.
no subject
Hikaru points him out to Toothless, leaning in closer to the dragon to hope to be heard over the noise. "That's Kyouya-senpai," he says helpfully. "He's scary, so try not to get on his bad side too much." He still doesn't know if the dragon can actually understand him, but, well, he'll talk to it just in case it does.
no subject
Then slowly he starts forward, ready to do some curious inspecting of his own, if Kyouya isn't about to move, himself.
no subject
He wasn't going to move toward it, and... Now it was coming toward him. So, Kyouya stands very still, very calm. Exactly like he would with a very large dog or something equally dangerous.
"You've made a new friend, I see."
no subject
He follows along a step behind Toothless, just in case.
"You were taking too long Kyouya-senpai, so I decided to go out and get him myself." Cocky, with a grin to match. Kyouya did
kind ofsay he could get one after all.no subject
