Who: Raphael and anyone still around Isla Empieza! Plus Hiccup and Gaius.
Where: Isla Empieza, around town.
When: February 27th and on...he'll be around for a few more days, at least.
What: Anything! Introducing crew members to each other, maybe meeting others...?
Warnings: None.
Style: Action.
Status: Open.
[By now Raph has kind of realized that he's probably not the weirdest thing in this world, not to mention that, you know, it isn't HIS world anyway so as far as he's concerned the same rules don't apply here. He doesn't have to stay hidden, it doesn't matter if the humans see him, he can come out during the day...
There's not really a cool sewer system to hide in anyway.
And even if there was, it'd be seriously lacking in arcade machines.
So he's out and about in town, running around, leaping from building to building, swinging off whatever he can and flipping through the air to land somewhere else.
Training, basically. Can't slack, not when there's certain pirate ghosts that still need a good face punching.
He might also be sitting on the stone edge of the fountain, legs crossed as he tries (and probably fails) to meditate. Chances are he's inconspicuously people watchingand getting a kick out of all the double-takes he's getting.]

He just nods, though. It's obvious, the way he moves with it. Like he can't quite put all of his weight on it just yet. Maybe not because the prosthesis itself is new, but because...]
You're still healing then, huh? You said it was an -- "occupational hazard". [Complete with air quotes.] So some kind of accident?
no subject
Sort of. It's not too bad, though. I'll probably get use to it.
[How can you say this so casually, Hiccup]
Buuut you can say that. Taking on a dragon the size of a small mountain isn't the smartest thing to do.

[That voice comes from up above, and even once you look up, Gaius is already making his way down expertly from where he'd been hanging out in the crow's nest.
He hops down the last several feet onto the deck, tossing a salute in the direction of the two as he gets up.]
So, this here's the dragon-kid you were talkin' about, Jumpstart?
no subject
Ah, yeah. Dude, this is Hiccup. Hiccup, Gaius.
[Gestures to each as he introduces them.]
We're still looking for Toothless.
no subject
[Well, that's new. Excuse his confused eyebrow/forehead crease.]
Nice to finally meet you. I heard you're the one who helped Raphael get this ship?
no subject
[He walks over towards them, giving a nod in Hiccup's direction.]
Hey. Yeah, that's right. Nice one too, don't you think?
no subject
I wanted to go bigger, but Gaius pointed out we'd need more people to manage it.
[Walks over to the ship's wheel, taking two of the handles like he's actually going to sail it somewhere -- or has any idea how to.]
Glad we decided on this one.
no subject
[A little crestfallen, but it's good to hear that several people have already been keeping an eye out for Toothless.]
Maybe tomorrow, then. We'll see.
[The relaying of how they went about choosing the right ship just settles things. With that kind of logic, Gaius is someone he can trust. Hiccup nods.]
Yeah. Real nice. Bigger than any ship I've seen, anyway. And maybe twice as wide.
[That wheel is something he'll need to learn about, though. What is that.]
no subject
[Trustworthy despite the fact that, you know, he helped steal a ship. But hey, you wanna get by in a place like this, you gotta step up!]
By that I'm guessing you probably don't know how to sail this then, huh?
[Well, that's going to make things interesting.]
no subject
[Leans against the wheel, eyeing all the rigging above them.]
So this is that different from a Viking ship? I just assumed they all kind of worked the same. Guess not.
[Then he's looking over at Gaius.]
Did you test it out with anything good?
no subject
Well, Viking ships are usually long and thin. They have shields lining the sides, maybe one or two separate sails to a mast, and a giant rudder in the back for steering.
Half of the time we use oars, but with that many Vikings to a ship, it's no big deal.
[They'll have a problem here, but maybe they can wing it.]
From what I can tell right now, the rigging looks about the same. Where's the rudder?
no subject
[He grins.]
....but I did get some tomatoes, cheese and some sausage to try that pizza thing you mentioned, although you're going to have to tell me what all it's supposed to look like.
[Gaius glances at Hiccup then, then thumbs back.]
Rudder's back there. The wheel there's what turns it.
no subject
[Thank goodness this one seems to work differently. But he'll just let Gaius handle the ship questions, because heck if he knows anything useful. If there's a pie cooking, though, Raph might just have to go check that out—]
You got pizza ingredients?!
[Annnd all other topics of conversation instantly vanish from his mind as he vaults over the wheel and makes a mad dash for the galley.
no subject
That thing he's leaning–
[Annnd there goes the ninja turtle. A bit stunned by that reaction, the boy blinks, shoulders sagging slightly.]
–on?
no subject
[Well, that was fast. Smirking as the turtle vanishes below deck, Gaius starts over towards the wheel of the ship, giving a nod.]
Yeah, this thing. Steers the ship.
no subject
Okay. Since the ship's already this big...it doesn't take that much manpower to turn a wheel like that, does it?
[He places his hands on the grips, getting a feel for how the thing is suppose to work.]
no subject
...usually. I haven't tried my hand at it, but I've watched it done. Takes a firm hand, after all, you've got the waves to go against. It's probably a lot more difficult in a storm, too.
no subject
[You can't pretend very well, Gaius, he can feel it.]
...A bigger, more muscular Viking.
no subject
no subject
What– really???
no subject
-huh, wonder where Raphael went. Hope he's not eating my pie without me.
[Aaaand he's going to start towards the steps down, expecting Hiccup will follow.]
no subject
[Oh no you don't, mister! Hiccup does follow, stalking after the redhead.]
Like I need another name? I go by Hiccup for crying out loud!
no subject
Not like Twigs is any worse...
[Yeah. He heard that.]
no subject
Looks just about done.
[He'll go ahead and carefully remove that pie.]
no subject
Hiccup just can't win here.
Because the turtle has a point, he frowns, brow knitting. Frown, not pout.]
