What: The Bloody Spades Alliance VS the Navy!
Warnings: PG-13 for fighting and possibly R because Marco might get naked(turn into a bird).

Status: Open to Spades/Bloody Roses!

The Spades will be fighting Corpsemaster, one of the Navy Captains set for the Navy Month's event! There will be a forced retreat on both sides.

[Ace sat down next to Aya, a dreamy look on his face. He was weary and while there were losses and damages, he still felt good. Still, he wasn't happy--just relaxed in comparison to how he had been writhing in pain from poison only an hour earlier.]

Hey, Aya. [Ace had an IV of blood in hand, gently pumping it once in awhile in his hand.]

[formerabyssinian]

Hmm? [Ace doesn't look Ace's way just yet. He's not in the best of moods for company, so he wonders how long Ace will linger.] Hey.

[hiken]

[He knew how Aya felt. Ace couldn't help that his 'Will' was in use, making sure everyone was still alive--at least everyone still on deck.]

Do you want to be stronger?

[formerabyssinian]

[It's then that Aya looks to him, noticing the IV of blood, and gives Ace a curious look, but also an annoyed one. His reply is a bit clipped.]

What are you getting at? [Because if Ace is here for a lecture on getting stronger to survive the sea and protect everyone, to make sure no one else dies again, and to stop sulking about and take care of his injuries, Aya is going to deck him.]

[hiken]

Freedom. [Ace reached over to the IV--where the needle met his arm--to check on it.]

The stronger you are, the more freedom you have. It's actually why I went sailing in the first place.

[formerabyssinian]

[The answer is unexpected, and it shows on his face.]

Freedom? From what? [Besides the navy chasing after them. He's been chased before, so he's not sure what else Ace could mean.]

[hiken]

I lived in this place called the Grey Terminal. It was a city built on a dump made by nobles.

Some of my happiest memories took place there, but I hated it and wanted to get away, so-- I did. But, I realize when I left, if I wanted to keep sailing and being free to do whatever I wanted in the world, I had to get strong.

[formerabyssinian]

So is that why you do whatever you please? It gets us into trouble. [Not that he minded. Trouble is a familiar friend.]

[hiken]

We're bound to get in trouble no matter what. To find those shards, we gotta travel around, so--the chances of us meeting and finding the weirdos with all the power and none of the sense skyrockets.

[Ace made a 'humph' sound, crossing his arms and setting down the IV bag.]

If we were really doing exactly 'What Ace wants to do', it would be different.

[He would assemble as much of an Armada as he could. Instead, Ace was trying to keep pace and just protect his crew rather than go out of the way to be adventurous.]

Hm.

[Aya looks back out to the sea of darkness.]

No one is really free. Not even those that rule. The only way to truly be free would be to sever all ties to everything and everyone.

[There's still responsibility to be had with being strong. If Ace wanted to protect the crew, then he wouldn't ever be free.]

[hiken]

I thought that, for awhile. Nah, that's the heaviest chain there is, Aya. If you think you can't live without putting the burden of loneliness on yourself, then you're no better than the dead.

[He yawned, beginning to stand up.]

That's the kind of world we're in--where 'strength' gives you the right to do and say what you want. So, I'm going to be the strongest one there is without a doubt.

[formerabyssinian]

I was dead a long time ago. Maybe now I'm just a ghost. [He isn't sure of where he stands in this world, but strength and freedom are not synonymous in his opinion.]

Why are you even telling me any of this? [It's obvious that Aya doesn't care much about his definition of freedom.]

[hiken]

Because, you're angry. [Ace stood up, his hands on his knees. His transfusion was nearly up, but it hadn't committed to the full effect, yet.]

Anger in a man is good. If your anger persists, you can do a lot of good things with it.

[Snickering, Ace began to limp away.] But, now that you say that, I suppose I understand it a bit more. The wrath of an angry ghost can be endless!

[formerabyssinian]

[If only Ace knew just how far his anger could take him.]

[Aya watches Ace limp away from over his shoulder. He always found their conversations to be odd.]
