Warnings: PG-13 for fighting and possibly R because Marco might get naked(turn into a bird).

Status: Open to Spades/Bloody Roses!

The Spades will be fighting Corpsemaster, one of the Navy Captains set for the Navy Month's event! There will be a forced retreat on both sides.

[Lea would shrug, but it'd probably hurt too much.]

It's not like I have a lot to tell you. I only had it maybe a week or two before I showed up here. I still can't even get it to come out half the time.

[It'd probably get easier if he trained with it more, but he's not too keen on making an ass of himself. Keyblades aside, though...]

Ow.

[Stupid side. Hurts.]

If that thing needs stitches, you're not doing them.]

[He tries to take it a little easier with his touch.]

Why not? You can tell me how to do them, it can't be that hard.

[Roxas shrugs a little and investigates the wound before rincing his hands and pulling out some gauze.]

Only a week or two? Is that how long Sora's been awake?

[Roxas, he trusts you with his life, but he's not letting you anywhere near him with a needle and thread.]

Telling you how to do it isn't gonna make it hurt less when you try. Just bandage it for now.

[As for that other thing...]

Sora's been awake for, I dunno, a year maybe? Maybe less than that. Timelines, right?

[He waves a hand. He has absolutely no idea how long it took him to come back or how long he was training with his Keyblade before he had to go rescue Sora from Xehanort.]

[It isn't likely that Roxas would kill him while trying to stitch him up, but if that's what Lea wants then he can accommodate. Roxas presses gauze carefully along the gash and gets out a bandage to wrap it around him.]

A whole year? What have you been doing then?

[Lea turns his head to the side and stares fixedly at the wall.]

Oh, you know me...

[He's been avoiding this topic since they arrived. He's still not sure if any of the others have told Roxas or what they said if they did. Or if Roxas remembers what they told him, though he doubts it's the sort of thing even Roxas would forget.]

[He lets out a little laugh.]

Yeah, so I know you were doing at least something. A year is a long time. It's as long as I've been alive! Well, a little more then that now.

[Roxas wraps the bandage carefully and ties it off.]

I think you need stitches anyway.

Yeah, I'll ask someone later.

[Roxas just takes everything he says at face value. Why wouldn't he? This is Roxas, after all. Even when he's managed to figure out that Lea's hiding something (or when Axel was), it's not like he ever manages to piece together what.]

[He pokes Lea's shoulder gently.]

Are you cut anywhere else?

[Roxas steps away with the bowl of water and goes to the sink to change it and rinse out the cloth.]

You didn't answer my question about what you were doing.

[No he most certainly did not.

Lea turns in the chair so that Roxas can check his back for cuts and so he (conveniently) doesn't have to look at him.]

I'm a busy guy, what can I say? A lot happens in a year.

[Roxas sighs heavily.]

You got two cuts back here, but they're not nearly as deep.

[He raises the cloth and starts to clean Lea's back. He can't help but remember what Ikki said, so he's quiet.]

[Lea nods silently and lets him work. They're back to this again, apparently. He kind of wishes he knew what was going on in Roxas' head, because he's pretty sure it has very little to do with the actual issue. Roxas has gotten pretty good at assuming the worst of him, which hurts, really, because it's not like he wants to have all these things he doesn't want him to have to know about.]

I miss when you'd just yell at me when you were mad.

[The water splashes a little as he rings out the cloth and goes back to washing Lea's back carefully.]

If I was mad at you, I would yell at you.

[Lea slumps forward a bit.]

Right...

[Roxas isn't the type to play mind games with him, so he's not really sure where this leaves them or how to fix it. He's really, really bad at fixing things when they get like this.]

[It isn't a mind game. The thought never occurred to Roxas.]

I'm not mad at you, okay?

[He presses some gauze to one wound, taping it into place.]

[Lea just sighs. He's too tired for this right now. Everything hurts and the fight outside isn't even over, won't be until they've successfully retreated. But all he wants to do is just go somewhere he doesn't have to deal with any of it.]

Okay...

[There's not any point in pushing it. It'll just get worse.]

[Roxas finishes up with Lea's back and exhales, smiling a little.]

There, you're all set.

[He starts picking things up, for something to do. The mood feels rather thick and uncomfortable. He chews his bottom lip for a moment and then brightens.]

Hey, we're getting close to your birthday right? It'll be great. You'll see!

In about a week, yeah. I'm expecting a ton of presents.

[He tries to force a little cheer into his voice, but he's not exactly an emotional bouncy ball like Roxas is. Of all the things he's taught Roxas "changing the subject when you don't want to talk about something you really should" is probably not the the best.]

[So Lea doesn't want him to change the subject? Roxas is a little confused. For a moment he just stares at him. His forced cheer is terrible. He goes bac over to Lea's side and wraps his arms around him carefully.]

What's wrong, Lea?

[Lea leans against him and sighs. What isn't wrong? They lost a fight, he feels like crap, Roxas brought up something he really doesn't want to talk about and now he has some weird idea again about why Lea isn't exactly forthcoming with information, he's having another birthday when he doesn't even know how old he is anymore...]

Nothing's ever simple.

Is it supposed to be simple?

[Roxas tilts his head a little. It isn't like things are that simple for him either. He ruffles Lea's hair affectionately, like he does for him.]

Because if it is, I'm not doing things right either.

Heh. Maybe you're right.

[It's kind of comforting, though, letting Roxas take care of him a bit. That's part of why he doesn't want to burden him with the complete mess that his life actually is. The poor kid wouldn't have any idea where to start.]

[Roxas gives him a big smile.]

Of course I'm right. You should always listen to me!

[He doesn't mind taking care of Lea, after all, Lea always looks after him. He wants to return the favour, but Lea's rarely in this position.]

Oh really? Always?

[Lea raises an eyebrow at that one. He about half-shoves at Roxas, but it pulls on his side too much and he ends up wincing instead.]

Yes. First of all you shouldn't do that, that looked like it hurt.

[Poor Lea. Hmm, what else could he do...he could make him a drink! Roxas wanders over to the cupboard to poke around a bit and see what he can do.]

[Lea's not sure what Roxas is up to and he's not so sure he trusts him to be going through the cabinets like that, so he shifts position in the chair gingerly to keep an eye on him.]
