[Log || 004] Empieza and Aeolipile

What: Picking up new crew members and recovering from the Navy battle! Plus shenanigans.
Warnings: DRAGON!!! But no, nothing really. Probably.

This is our April log of awesomeness! Date your threads accordingly and probably include a location. This is the plan for now:

[He frowns as she shows him that scar, however.]

Ugh, different or not, there are just some thing you don't do. Actually, I'm surprised they even dared to try anything. Don't know if that bodes well for us offworlders in general. It's bad enough the Navy hates us.

-whoa, hey! Easy now..!

[He almost expects to find an empty plate, so it's quite a pleasant surprise to find not only his slice of cheesecake, but an extra one to boot! ...but he'll just take his, first.]

Nope, no one. Though it was probably my fault for believe that these people would accept my pokemon instead of just keeping them in their balls. I probably could have avoided all of this if I did.

But past is in the past. At least they stopped sending people to hunt me down, and at least all I got out of it was a simple scar.

[She sighs then looks at the sea from the mouth of her cave.]

I nearly lost home till you told me you'd take me in. I owe you my life, Gaius.

[He scratches the back of his head.]

Hey, I didn't think it would hurt to offer. It seems like we're all thrown into a strange world and expected to hit the ground running.

I'm just glad to have found you before something worse could've happened, although you still shouldn't have had to get hurt just for being here.

I know, but this is a strange world and I'd rather not question it anymore. I just want to get out of here before anything else happens.

[She eyes the last piece of cheesecake. Then gets up and dusts herself off]

You should take the slice. You deserve it.

Your wish is my command. I'll take you back to the ship.

[He finally tries that cheesecake- and for a moment just blocks out the world because THIS. But he's back shortly after, and his cheesecake is gone, sadness.

Well, there's the one slice, but...]

[Now that wasn't something she expected. Sure she loves cheesecake and all. But it was the last slice, and it was his to begin with.]

I don't want it.

[She'll say that with her most sincere smile before walking to the back of the cave to pick up her things.]

...yeah, like I'm gonna believe that.

[But he smirks faintly, though he still holds off on eating it.]

Need help with anything?

Actually, yeah I do.

[She comes back with a giant brown sack and drops it right in front of him. Cynthia did promise some chocolate coins right? Well she'll just casually fix her things and wait to see his reaction to the amount of coins that she got him.]

I promised my friend I'd save him some chocolate coins. You think that's enough?

[If that were a sack of real coins, then it's a beautiful sight. But knowing just what kind of coins they are exactly just makes it even more so.

It takes him a few tries to find words.]

...o~h... I think that'll cover it.

You really think so? Because I have a few more sacks at the back of the cave. My pokemon and I devoted a whole day to just harvesting coins from the beach and, in a deserted area like this, it was basically a free for all.

[She smirks, motioning her pokemon to pull out a few more sacks from the back of the cave. Cynthia didn't really have a lot of personal items. Just her coat and her pokemon.]

....I think I may cry.

[He grins as he gets to his feet, watching the growing amount of sacks.]

This cheesecake may be way tastier than those coins, but you're definitely going to have to take this last slice now. It's the very least I can give you at the moment, but I might be able to sweet-talk the baker into another one later. I don't know how else I'd repay you for even one of those sacks!

Gaius please, you saved me from possibly being hanged or burned at the stake. A few sacks of chocolate coins is the least I can do to repay you.

[She slips on her coat and clips her pokeballs back to her belt.]

Well that and the last slice of cheesecake. I already told you, I don't want it.

[Well, okay. Maybe he'll accept that reasoning. Maybe. But now he's thinking there's gotta be some kind of catch. And who can turn down this cheesecake stuff?!]

....yeah you do.

[He holds up the plate about eyelevel.]

I don't. Why won't you believe me?

[She may have a sweet tooth that could rival his. But even she knew when to restrain herself. The blonde's been living of chocolate coins, Gaius. Just take the damn slice already.]

...is this the whole thing with the blood sugar?

[Maaaybe he'll relent, although right now he's making that plate "dance" from side to side. You know you waaaaant it.]

[You know what? She'll go ahead and kiss him on the cheek instead. Whispering "keep it" into his ear before heading to her pokemon who were waiting patiently at the mouth of the cave.

That kiss, a few sacks of chocolate coins and the last slice of cake. That was to be her payment to him for saving her. Plus they didn't have all day, and arguing over a cake wasn't going to speed things up.]

At least he doesn't drop that cheesecake because that would have made him upset. But since he doesn't want to stand there like an idiot with a plate of soft cheesecake, he's going to begrudgingly enjoy the delicious slice before he'll grab what sacks have been left for him to help with.

Oh right, he should be leading the way since he knows where to go, huh. Tromp tromp tromp]

[She didn't wait for him though. Once reunited with her pokemon, they made their way to the beach. Each one far too happy to be out of that cave.

Of course they've been out for scouting and hunting. But it was a different feeling knowing that it was going to be the last time they'd ever have to see that cave. The pokemon played in the sand a bit while they waited for Gaius to catch up.]

[Even though he'd only ever seen them in the cave previously, it's obvious enough to Gaius how eager they are to move on. He smiles as he watches them a moment, then starts to walk ahead of them before turning, gesturing with a nod of his head.]

Come on. There's trail we can take along the shoreline that should get us to the docks without having to cut through town.

Hold on a sec...

[She was grateful to him for helping her with this, and even providing an alternative route so she wouldn't have to deal with the townsfolk. But as a safety precaution, she returned her pokemon to their balls one by one. Well all except Garchomp since she was helping Cynthia carry the sacks of coins.]

Probably best not to walk around with all of them out at once.

Okay, what just happened? -er, I guess you can explain as we go.

Oh, I was just returning them to their...oh right.

[See Cynthia? THIS is why people keep mistaking you for a damn sea witch. But she takes one of her pokeballs out to show the man as they walked. Her dragon trailing behind them.]

This is a pokeball. I can use this to catch creatures from my world and...tame them.

[He eyes the thing, because no matter how you look at it, it's impossible to shove a creature of any size into that. It's gotta be magic of some sort, which makes it a little easier to wrap his head around.]

So...it's like a fancy sorta net? Huh. Is it only for catching creatures or can you hold other stuff in there?

[Because that would be handy.]

I guess you could call it that. It's only for catching creatures and storing them. But I am able to give my pokemon one item to hold while they're in there. If that's worth mentioning?

Just thought I'd ask. Would be pretty useful if you could use it to tote around your belongings, don't you think? What a space saver!
