a. Is this a scene from a Disney movie you have stumbled across? Of course it is! How magical and enchanting! Oh wait. No, it's just Selphie. She's sitting on the edge of a clearing, surrounded by woodland animals. There's a squirrel on her shoulder and she's holding birds in her palms. Selphie looks very comfortable here, either singing with the creatures or telling them some romantic fairytales. If you stick around long enough, you might even catch her skipping and dancing with the animals.
b. Night time, and Selphie is completely in awe with the way that the forest glows. It's just so beautiful that it makes it impossible to think of sleep. Beginning on the island beach, Selphie makes a slow wander through the forest, seemingly happy just to walk in the glow of the forest.
c. Has anyone seen Selphie? She hasn't been seen by a member of the crew in approximately 24 hours. Or maybe someone did catch a glimpse of her, but they don't know where she went. Maybe her missing has gone unnoticed, maybe not. Either way, Selphie might be found somewhere near the middle of the island, fast asleep on the forest floor. She's curled up at the bottom of a tree, a large deer and some rabbits cuddled close to protect her and keep her warm.
Aya had wondered where Selphie went off to, so he followed her. He wasn't aware of the nightlife here, so he's glad that following her lead to such a discovery. He looked around as he approached her, probably in as much awe as she was.
Selphie turned at the sound of his voice, not shocked or surprised here, but she smiled like she was very pleased to see him, "It's all just so beautiful!"
She moved over to be even closer to him, her shoulder brushing against his as she surveyed the landscape, "You really like it here? Then maybe we should explore some more before we have to go." Selphie looked as though she'd be quite happy to continue walking for some time.
For once since joining the crew, he actually liked the island they stopped at. Why are they staying only a few days, when they stayed as that club type island for almost two weeks? It irked him, a lot, but right now wasn't the time to be concerned about it.
He looked to Selphie and nodded at her idea with a small smile. "I think we should." He offered a hand to her to take to start their stroll.
Perhaps it was because she knew they were only staying a few days that Selphie was so keen to see so much of the place as she could. She glanced at Aya, and his hand, and when she took it she smiled brightly in her excitement as she started to lead them along a path that looked particularly pretty, "Let's go this way!"
Aya nodded and started to walk with her. Even if it was late at night, he, too, felt that sleep could be done later, especially with such a short time on the island.
"I found lots of animals! Like, seriously loads! It's so weird, being on a boat, you forget how much you miss stuff like trees and grass and all the little creatures. I was singing with the birds and they sat right on my shoulder. It was so cute!"
She was talking rather animatedly, clearly very excited to talk about what she'd seen, her hand holding his tighter, while the other waved around a bit. "How about you?"
"Singing with animals..." That sounded very much like a children's movie. Although Aya was a little surprised by hearing such a thing, he was definitely glad that she was enjoying herself. "I didn't since with animals, but a few came up to me. They're pretty friendly here."
One would think they wouldn't be, since he thought not many people came to the island.
"Well, sure! And I told stories to the rabbits and the deer, and some squirrels..." She turned and smiled at Aya then she suddenly stopped, an idea popping into her head. Selphie glanced around the forest, then leaned in close to Aya's ear to whisper to him.
"I bet if we're quiet...foxes and badgers and owls might come out to play!" It was night, after all.
When she stopped, Aya, who had been holding her hand, stopped so suddenly that he lost his balance a bit. He listened to her idea with interest, but did seem skeptical about wanting to interact with more wildlife.
Selphie reached out to grab at one of his arms, hoping to steady him, but her eyes were still focused on the forest floor. She turned back to him, moving her hand to place it lightly on his chest, almost as though to prevent him from walking forward. "We will. In a minute. Let's just wait."
Sure enough, a couple of moments later, a small family of foxes emerge from beneath a tree, and an owl hoots somewhere overhead.
Aya stilled and sees the foxes emerge. He says nothing, mostly not wanting to scare them away, and because he hadn't seen foxes before outside of pictures or movies. He turned to the side, wondering where the owls could be.
Selphir shuffled forward, careful not to startle them, but it seems that even the night animals are happy in the presence of humans. She turned back to Aya and grinned, then moved closer to foxes, kneeling when she gets just a short distance away. "Hedllo Mr and Mrs Fox. Hello little baby foxes."
Not being much of an animal person, Aya stayed back while Selphie approached the foxes. He was just fine with where he was, smiling at her interacting with them.
Selphie turned back again and waved Aya over with one hand, her other one being licked by a fox, causing her to giggle. "Nopes!" She laughed some more and nodded towards the foxes, "You don't wanna come say hi?"
Selphie shook her head slightly at Aya's answer, then scooped up one of the tiny fox cubs in her hands. She made kissy noises at it, deciding not to actually kiss it in case Aya decides that he doesn't want to kiss her after she's kissed a fox. Then she pet each of the animals in turn before standing back up and walking over to Aya.
"Aww, look at the funky owl! He's staring at you."
Yes, because he needs more questionable women in his life... :|
Aya chuckled at her antics before she came over. "They might miss you." She would have been right if she started kissing some fox she just met. He took her hand and lead them away from the owl, keeping an eye on it.
"You think so? I think I'll miss them too." She laughed as he moved them away from the owl, and she turned her head to look back at it. "I think the owl will miss you too. It's still staring. It must really like you." She nudged herself into him gently as they continued to walk along.
"What are you interested in?" Still holding his hand, Selphie glanced up at him before resting her head on the shoulder he had just shrugged. It's peaceful in the forest, after all. Her question wasn't rude, just genuine interest. She knew some things about Aya, but there were still things she didn't know.
It was a good question, one which took him a moment to answer. He looked to her as she leaned against him.
"For a long time, it was vengeance. But now...I'm not sure." The environment around them was calming, even with remembering all that he had gone through until this point. "It's been a while since I had this much time for myself to even think about something like that."
"Vengeance..." It sounded strange to repeat the word when they were surrounded by the softly glowing forest, feeling so at peace. "There's plenty space round here to think. Or to talk about it, if that'll help."

"A shame we're only here for a short time."

"Have you met them before?"
YOU SAW NOTHING
You can't prove that!
As long as it didn't come down, Aya is fine with it.
It was just Aya's mind - wishing he was with Faye instead! :o
"Aww, look at the funky owl! He's staring at you."
Yes, because he needs more questionable women in his life... :|
"I noticed. Let's just keep walking."
Aya, you stud!!
He's an unwilling participant, not a stud!!
Suuuuure.
-_-;;
Hush, now, Aya. The ladies will look after you.
He only really needs just one of them, not all.

That's very thoughtful of him!
He...has his moments?? :|
