Who: The Spade Pirates Where: Serenes When: April 10th-13th What:chillin' out maxin relaxin all cool Gathering supplies Warnings: Nothing more than the usual Status: Open
A) [Like the others, Asami is out gathering supplies. You know, anything that you can find in a forest environment; berries, nuts, fish from the lakes and rivers, more wood because the wooden ship so needs it, etc. She has a couple sacks full as she lugs them back to the Sun, only stopping when she comes across a deer.
Which...looks very strange to her.
It's not a pig deer or a cat deer, just a normal deer. What is that even? Gently dropping the sacks, she approaches the animal cautiously. Idk come and bug her?]
B) [On one of the days Asami can be found swimming on the island, bathing suit and all. This is much better than swimming in the ocean where the water is much more violent and choppy and there are an abundant amount of sharks. Unless there are sharks here too. Very tranquil sharks or something.
Not likely, but oh well. She'll just be floating about out there, not really paying attention to her surroundings]
[Asami would have known that Ace was an anchor. So, when he sauntered up to the railing of the ship ready to jump in, it would have been an amazingly clear red flag.
He stretched his arms out, putting on a set of shackles he had broken at the middle, so they were separate.
[Apparently it was, because the second Ace stepped up to the railing like he was getting ready to jump in, all Asami could do was stare. She was well aware of his not being able to swim problem.
He wasn't really going to...was he?
Nope. He did. So here came Asami over as quickly as possible to pull him up to the surface and drag him closer to the shore so they were in more shallow water. She was frowning, boy]
[Ace burst out of the water with a grin, standing on the bottom without so much as going dead in the arm. He felt perfectly fine. Though, admittedly, he still wasn't sure if the chains would work forever. He waved his arms over his head, laughing at Asami despite her well-deserved concern.]
[Always one for a subtle entry, Korra launches fully clothed into Asami's little swimming area, landing with a splash (tidal wave, really) far larger than normally would have been possible.]
[Okay so...Asami didn't expect to find Korra around all of the sudden (or maybe she did, because, Korra), but she did expect her to jump into the water that way.
Shielding her face from the gigantic wave, Asami quickly turns her head away and swims closer afterwards]
[Oh yeah, Korra was able to swim in the deep ocean being a waterbender and all. Asami never wanted to risk it]
It's not as cold as the ocean, so I think I prefer that. But yeah, it's not as big as it could be. [A pause. Here Korra, have a splash of water] Have you come across anything else around here?
I never thought of most of them as being unfriendly. [A pause] But I know what you mean, one of them walked right into my lap earlier. I'm not use to them being so bold.
[Pabu and Naga don't count. They're practically housebroken already]
Right. The atmosphere also seems weird, but it's not too bad.
[Korra should totally try to bend the ocean hotter anyway]
I didn't really think about that. But considering the state of things at home...
[She wishes she understood the logic of spirits more, or even had a grasp of how this world connects to theirs.]
I guess there's a chance. But the animals here are also so weird. Like... a deer? Just a deer. I haven't seen a single cat-deer, but this place is crawling with just plain ol' deer.
[Connection to home...Asami always wondered about that. But she also figured this world must of had it's very own spirits too, not that she knew much about stuff like that in the first place]
Do you think there's something like that here too? Like a portal?
[Floating about in the water, Asami gestures her hand to where the forest is]
Yeah, I actually ran into one earlier...It didn't even have whiskers.
Catchall for Salami

Then, he just sort of jumped in the water.]

Nope. He did. So here came Asami over as quickly as possible to pull him up to the surface and drag him closer to the shore so they were in more shallow water. She was frowning, boy]
You awake, Ace?
no subject
Weird, right?! It works!
no subject
I'm sorry but, what worked...?
[Because she would have sworn he almost drowned!]
no subject
The shackles I stole from the Navy! They turn off some of your powers and it looks like it worked for my fire fruit!
no subject
Really? So that means you can also swim, right?
[The fact that Ace wasn't turning into a human torch was telling enough. The shackles seemed to have taken care of that part at least]
no subject
[He stared at Asami, still smiling.]
Just make sure I don't drown when it stops.
no subject
[She pointed closer to the shore]
But you should probably stay in the shallow end just to be safe.
no subject
[He stared at Asami, not actually moving yet.]
'Cause, I'll drown.
no subject
[At least she hoped she wouldn't]
Just don't go too far.
no subject
[He paused, staring down at the water.]
...Feels really weird bein' this deep again.
no subject
When was the last time you were?

Nice swimming area, huh?
[It's like a small personal pool, really]
no subject
[Sorry about that, Asami, but she can never resist.]
no subject

no subject
[As if on cue, a duck lands on the edge of the pond and settles its feathers.]
And yeah, I'll admit that the warmer water's pretty nice.
[You can't exactly bend an entire ocean to be hotter.]
no subject

Right. The atmosphere also seems weird, but it's not too bad.

[Korra laughs a little at that.]
I was actually trying to hunt a deer earlier, but I couldn't bring myself to kill it because it just looked at me! It wouldn't even run!
[Well the ocean would get hotter if you were in it, Asami.]no subject

[This is the most normal conversation ever]
no subject
I don't know... Maybe I'll look around later. I don't know how long we're going to stay. Ace is already going stir crazy.
[She says that with an eye roll and a note of exasperation.]
no subject
She lets out a small laugh, trying to hide it]
Maaaaybe we should keep an eye on him. knowing him, he'll probably find a way to wreck the island in no time.
[And engulf it in a blaze of flames]
