Masquerade Ball - Totally not an ambush

What: The Masquerade Ball + Ambush (12am)

There are going to be two main threads. One for the ball itself and the other for the Ambush! There will be an obligatory third thread for FASHION. Just remember to tag your muse in the subject header and OTA or 'Closed to ???' as you comment.

[She sighed slightly. She knew she was going to muck up somewhere. She wasn't use to having to pretend unless it was a game.]

I forgot, sorry. I'm really not use at playing pretend that isn't a game. At least now I know and can do better at least.

[She nods, she knows that trusts them enough to help her should she need it and she knows she will need it a lot until then.]

Okay. ,small>[She jumps up onto a near by table and started to run across it, jumping over sword swings as she went, using that moment to fight back. When she reached the end, seeing another guy about to try and slash upward she jumped as high as she could, flying over him and using that moment to slash down before she landed.]

So far so good, I think we could make an exit should people need it.

[Chandra eats another couple of pieces real fast, unphased. Spicy is the best, okay?]

[She wasn't sure what exactly to make of it never the less. But for now she will eat something else just to try and get rid of the after spicy taste.]

She looked off into the crowd, the woman in question was soon spotted. "Ah, I see who you mean. She certainly has a very lovely necklace. I can't make out anything else." She said with a smile "There are many others here that are wearing such nice things. I wonder how expensive they are?"

[Is there any reason why he should state clearly which crew he belongs to? No. Would the information expose a weakness or something? Not really. But basically all he has is the same amount of reasons to answer as he has to not answer, and Ikki's far from being happily informative just because.]

[She sighed slightly. He's really not one for small talk, at least this is what she assumed.]

Are you going to ask someone to dance? I'm sure there are plenty of ladies who would be willing.

[She assumed so at least, after all this is a ball.]

[Luka stares at him for a few moments... before realizing the music is changing. She smiles a devilish smirk, and grabs his hand]

Fine, one dance, lovrboy.

[is she pulling him out onto the dance floor? Why, yes she is]

We have more in common than I thought, then.

[Codi grins back, mostly unfazed. Fire is powerful, certainly...she'll have to keep an eye out for this one. But if she's under orders and they're on the same page, then Codi shouldn't have anything to worry about. She hopes.]

Passing conversation is rarely a bad thing, but I'll leave that up to you.

[Codi giggles voraciously. The faked gallantries are the best part! Everyone sounds so pointlessly formal and silly, she loves it!]

What--in such a dashing suit? I don't think you could foil anyone's evening.

*What is this guy? So many questions...and so suspicious. They were on the same side, he was right, and yes, perhaps knowing who he belonged to didn't make a blind bit of difference but still, did he know what conversation and amusement were? She side eyed him and waved a hand airly in front of her*

I'm just curious, that's all. I've met some interesting people, it's just amusing to know if you know of them, that's all. But if you want to be that way, that's fine by me. No chip off my shoulder, anyway.

Selphie narrowed her eyes behind her mask, as though she was either scrutinising him, or challenging him. Maybe she wasn't sure just how really relaxed Ace could actually be. She was pretty sure it usually involved a lot of drink, or a lot of pancakes. "Alright. Just have a whole load of fun until then. Between you and Logan, you could make the entire room fall in love." They were both being exceptionally good at the whole prince charming thing after all.

"Waiting for... Your one true love to come and ask you to dance?"

Selphie almost squealed with the excitement of the thought - though there's a look in her eye that says she's only teasing, because she knows fine well that's not what Riku would be waiting around for.

"I'd like that very much!" She beamed at him, happily taking up his hand, "Just like old times, right?"

[Ragna stares back at her in disbelief, his mouth hanging half-open as he tries to form an appropriate response to that─ and before he knows it, they're on the dance flor. CRAP.]

Wha─ Wait, I'm not─ I don't─ I CAN'T DANCE!

[There are many things his Master has taught him, but dancing was certainly not one of them.]

[Grell doesn't react much. She merely gives a mysterious smile beneath the mask.]

Then you should watch for those gruesome pirates.

[At that, Chandra will start to probe Codi with her mana-sense, seeing what sort of power she might actually have.]

[They Tyrant's handshake is vigorous and confident, to match her general disposition. What does she have to fear, after all, when she's behind the mask?]

I like to keep my ears open. [She taps her nose knowingly--not quite the right gesture, but she doesn't care.] You offered your services to help people in trouble after the Navy started increasing their patrols. I like that! You're a good person, you know?

The Tyrant nods and pops her second morsel. She at least has the decent manners to finish chewing before the inevitable grin splits her face.

"Who's to say you haven't?"

[The Tyrant gives a very un-ladylike bark of laughter.]

No kidding! [She giggles her way back into casual, composed dancing.] Well, I'll give you credit for being direct. Some people here are on missions, after all.

[Which...could mean anything, really, but Codi hopes he interprets that the way he's supposed to if he's a pirate.]

Right, sure, give me the vegetables while you take the sweets. I think not.
