Manly Drinking Times
Who: Marco, Thatch, Logan, Namur, Roxas, Vyse, Chandra, Natsuno, and anyone else who wants in on this drinking game
Where: The Sun! And the Moon! And all the ships in between
When: Sunday May 4th, pursuant to this hilarity
What: MANLY DRINKING TIMES
Warnings: Ehhhhh ARRRRR For Rum. And drinking. And war. And fuck who knows what else, remind me to update if needed.
Status: OPEN!!!
Marco quickly set up a couple of kegs at the ready for the drinking party. Because it was just plain necessary, and a lot like old times. The last two weeks were still weighing on Marco's mind. War, Peace, phoenixes. Was it a good idea to really enjoy war so much? Was it a bad one? Maybe it was inevitable, so he might as well enjoy it. Like life, right? Or should he not encourage it just because it was amusing?
It was too much of a headache, that's why he was just going to drink.
He also set up some non-alcoholic drinks for Leanne and everyone else. Green tea, fruit juices, but they were all clearly marked.
Marco gave a quick piercing whistle. "OI SPADES! Roll call and drinking games!"
And maybe drunk board games, he would blame that on Ace though.

And you thought he was weird before.

That requires... quite a bit of rewind, hang on.
"The idiot rookie 'captain' -- and I use that term loosely here -- of the Sinewave crew got it into her head that Scurvy Dog loves Namur or something. Actually she might at that, since she is acting a bit jealous and peeved. But in that case, that's what she gets for toying with Ace and Namur at the same time."
Let us now take note of Marco's complete and total hypocrisy here. Chandra flirting with both Thatch and Ace? All well and good. One girl flirting with both Namur and Ace? Nope. Not allowed. He has his reasons, but they aren't necessarily good reasons.
"So apparently she asked Nam-chan on a date, but he turned her down because I asked him to handle the ships at the ball. The rookie lied anyway and claimed she was living it up with Namur all night, to make Scurvy Dog jealous. That's why Dog banned their crew and unbanned ours, just to get more revenge on the girl. But the added stipulation was that anyone who helped her out would get in trouble, so the idiot rookie tried to take Grell down with her out of jealousy, figuring that if Dog was going to get jealous over the rookie, then she'd definitely get jealous about Grell."
His eyes sparkled deviously, "And that is why rookies rarely make it to the big leagues."
Terrible? Yes. Just a bit.

"So she's a liar," comes the flat reply. "As well as new at the whole adventurous lifestyle thing. That's just stupid. Why even try and make Dog jealous? She's a dog that talks."
Pirate rookies, she decides, are probably like what she thinks of amateur pyromancers. The kind that explode their pets. And pineapples

Marco shrugged, "I don't even remember my rookie days, much less know what goes on in their odd little heads."
Mainly because he's too fucking old for this bullshit. That, and even starting off as a son of Whitebeard tends to make you less of a rookie, and more a son of Whitebeard. Throw in the phoenix thing, and he's just plain cheating all the damn time.
"If she has a better reason than that, I'm unaware of it." He scratched his chin idly, "She tried to claim title as the best tactician in the world. I'm not sure if that's recklessly bold, or just unbelievably stupid, yoi." Even his Pops and Sengoku would never do that. It was worse than earning the title of Strongest Man in the World, or even Strongest Swordsman. Rookies, yo.

"World's greatest tactician? Sounds like she seriously...doesn't know the meaning of the word." Chandra laughed coldly, looking down at her mug. "Trying to play two people off the other over something so trivial is a bad plan."

Marco snorted in amusement at that, "Basically. She didn't know what swash is either and tried to label me a swashbuckler. It would have been cuter if it was less like a baby kitten trying to take on an entire herd of cattle."

And another shrug. "Because she thought it was just a vague term for pirates. These rookies..." he shook his head in bewilderment.

"Spears."

A pause because he realizes that doesn't explain why she could put up a fight. "She fights with her head and heart. All pranks and surprises."

"Well, that sounds like fun to have on your side. Is she cute?"

"The others would roll with it a little easier I think. But Haruta is kind of the runt of the crew, so she liked having Ace around to baby a little, since otherwise we all kind of baby Haruta a bit, eh."
