Hey Lucario, do me a favor and see if you can't find any of the captain's alcohol around. Gonna have to clean this out before we dress it.
1/?
There he found, what looked to be, the hallucinogen wine they bought from the south. He didn't know it had the kind of effect, but alcohol was still alcohol.]
2/?
My head's spinning...

He puts then bottles down next to the thief and frowns at how pale his trainer has become. Whimpering at Gaius to help her.]

[He gave her hand a reassuring pat. The moment her Pokemon returned, Gaius glanced over, looking at each bottle that was brought. He picked up the rum after taking a sniff. Yeah, that'd do it.]
Here, hold your hand over this for a moment...
[He'd guide Cynthia's hand over the cloth he'd been holding in place so that he could get another one, sloshing a bit of rum onto it.]
This is probably going to sting more than removing the knife, but it's better than risking any infection.
[There's a glance at the Pokemon as well as he says this, hoping that they won't be all up in arms if they see their trainer in more pain.]

Whispering an apology, he brought up the bottle to dribble a little more rum on the wound, soaking it up with the cloth before he tossed it beside the knife for a new one. This time he used water, working carefully to clean up the stickiness of the rum as well.]
Still with me?
[He dabbed at it to dry things off as much as he could before gesturing towards Lucario, pointing at the bandage rolls in the pack he'd set down earlier.]

Still here...
[Lucario went straight for the bandages and handed it over to Gaius. The sooner they cover that wound, the happier he and his team mates would be. It pained them to have to watch this. Knowing they couldn't actually do much for their trainer.
Cynthia's grip tightens around the thief's arm every time the rum soaked cloth passes the open wound.]

He took the bandages from Lucario, nodding at the Pokemon.]
Help me sit her up. It'll make this easier. Almost done, Cynthia.

The dragon eyes the thief. He was so kind to her trainer. This was the least she could to to help.]

Gaius was quick to wrap the bandages in place, not too tight, but securely enough. Once he'd layered it enough, he tore off the excess and tied it off.]
Guess I'll have to go to the city later on to see if I can get more bandages and things. -ah.
[He reached behind him, pulling out a small bottle from his own pack, removing the cork.]
This might help with the healing a little, at least. It's a vulnerary.

[Listen, clearly she'd trust Gauis with her life. CLEARLY. But this thing has a strange name and it smells pretty weird. You're going to have to explain to her what it is if you're want her to actually drink it.]
no subject
[He offered it to her again.]

The champion takes to small bottle and downs its contents. A little weird in the taste department. But she could feel her head starting to clear up. That was a start.
Her grip on his arm loosened, but didn't let go. Not yet.
She wouldn't admit it. But she could use the company for a bit.]
Thanks...
no subject
He probably couldn't get to his feet at the moment whether he wanted to leave or not. Now that the worst was over, he felt physically and mentally sapped.]
Anytime... -not...that I hope this ever happens again, mind.
[He smiled lopsidedly.]
Get some rest, Cynthia.

[She wipes away whatever leftover tears she had left. Then stops the dragon before it even got the chance to lower her. Instead, she asked for a little assistance in shifting her position a bit so she could wrap her arms around the man. She was too drained. But hopefully he understood that it was a thank you hug.]
no subject
[He blinked as she moved to hug him as best she could, awkwardly returning the embrace with a reassuring pat on her back.]

[She lets go of him and lays back down, with the assistance of her dragon of course.]
But you still deserve my thanks, Gaius. There's a tiny jar of honey there on my desk...it's enough for one spoonful and...I'm willing to look the other way. Just this once.
no subject
[Maybe someone should go tell Leo that everything's okay. Gaius didn't think he'd be able to make it to the door, but he can't help but perk at the mention of honey.]
R-really?

-not that that was going to stop him. He'd crawl if he had to.]

She raised her hand to signal one of her pokemon to go fetch the bottle for him, and Lucario did it with a little class. Even kneeling and presenting the bottle to the thief as if it was an offering to a god.
Crazy little dog.]
