05/21 will be the end of the official scuttling of the Charming Murderess near Scorpion Reef and we'll have to start using the new Galleon (and name her!) from then on. The Hey! Listen! is still intact and usable. As we sail away, remember to watch out for scorpions and get ride of them.

05/26 Link Jr. returns from his canon update in a 17yr-old-body with the Master Sword strapped across his back.

I demonstrated it way back in January, it's not my fault the Navy wasn't there to see it. There's not been much of an opportunity to go all out since.

From what I hear, the battle in January was a disorganized mess. I earned my "extra zero" by killing the reserve units on the Chessmaster's ship. If they knew my potential, there would be several more zeros, but it doesn't matter to me.

[He's content to fly under the radar until such a time that he can reestablish his reputation as a one man army. By then, fear of his name will outweigh the allure of whatever price there may be on his head.]

Disorganized or not, there were more inferi there than there were soldiers on the Chessmaster's ship.

[Waves his hand.]

Whatever. Have I ever showed you any of my magic?

We've discussed it before, but you haven't demonstrated it.

[It's frustrating, too, because there isn't much that he can learn by just watching it. The proper equipment, however, is far beyond the level of technology available here. Even if he had access to what he'd need, he still wouldn't have the data he needs from back home to compare the readings to.]

[Let's his wand drop out of his sleeve into his hand, holding it loosely.]

Would you like to see a spell or two, then?

[That gets his immediate attention.]

The wand is necessary?

[The books he'd looked through were quite complicated as well. It was hard to pin down how much of it was superstition and how much of it was actually required.]

[That question always makes him wary. Wands are easy to steal and break, and though proper Wizarding etiquette dissuades a lot of his kind from doing that, he doubts that would be the case here. So admitting that he'd be utterly useless without the wand is never a good idea.]

It is. It channels all my magical power.

Then the idea is that it's channeled from inside the body? Does it drain?

[It would make sense for a conduit to be necessary, but a piece of wood seems a little mundane.]

No, it's only limited by what spells you know. Some are more complicated than others, some more difficult to perform...and so on and so forth.

[That would indicate either an external source or that they're unaware of the drain and how it replenishes. Possibly the rituals and words, being information in a way, were a power source. So frustrating not to be able to measure it.]

Are there any rules? Things that are impossible?

Of course. You can't bring anyone who's died back to life, that's probably one of the bigger things that's impossible. And you can't conjure food out of nowhere. As for rules, yes, there are many spells that are considered Dark Magic that are frowned upon. The Three Unforgivable Curses are illegal, for example.

[At least some laws of physics are observed then. It also indicates that it is possible for the kamitsuki back home to truly die before their healing "magic" could save them. Interesting.]

So your demonstration. What are you going to do?

Nothing, really. Nothing harmful, anyway, just a bit of fun. If you like dancing, that is.

[He slides back a step and quickly raises his wand, pointing it at L-Elf.]

[It's very strange not being in control of his own body, yet still being conscious. When Haruto bodyjacks him, everything just goes black and then he wakes up when the kamitsuki goes back where he belongs. Here, he's stuck making a fool of himself and being completely aware of it for once. He doesn't like it.]

When does it end?

[Idly twirls his wand.]

When I want it to. You know, I had no idea you were such a good tap dancer!

[But since he's not trying to get entirely on anyone's bad side here...ahahaha...he only lets the spell go on for a moment longer before canceling it with a lazy wave of his hand.

And then takes another step back.]

[If he wasn't under orders not to kill people unnecessarily, Draco would be at the top of his list right now. Instead, he just walks as calmly as he can up to Draco, slips his knife out of his sleeve, and points it at Draco's throat.]

You won't cast that on me again.

[dragonbadfaith]

[Skitters backwards until he bumps into the railing, but he keeps a scowl on his face the whole time even as he goes a bit pale.]

You wanted a demonstration! Don't point that bloody thing at me!

[Really, L-Elf is lucky Draco doesn't just Accio it from him and toss it into the ocean.]

[He'd probably manage to catch it before it hit the water because he's never more skilled than at times when it allows him to be as much of an asshole as possible.]

And I've had it and now it won't happen again.

[The knife drops back into his sleeve, but the threat remains.]

[Just rolls his eyes, because he's nothing if not a brat. He's certainly not going to concede anything.]

Right, well, my goal is to eventually turn an entire Navy ship into a ballet showcase.

Could you cast it at the entire ship at once?

[He sounds doubtful. The spell looked like it needed a clear line of sight at the very least.]

If I had a clear shot at them all.

[Points up at the crow's nest.]

I could fly to the mast on their ship and cast my spell at will. Or stay on my broom and do it, even. If I put up a shield charm, which of course I would, they wouldn't be able to fire at me.

Could you choreograph them or would they dance around randomly?

[The wheels in his head are turning. Anything and everything can be integrated into his strategies and the more variables he can control, the more he can influence the outcome of a situation.]

...No. I couldn't choreograph them.

[Scratches under his chin with his wand.]

At least, not with that spell. It's only designed to cause your legs to flail about like a mad person. But...there are other spells. One that controls the will of a person entirely, so that you can make them do whatever you want. It's very illegal, though.

[Pause.]

And not a spell that I know.

[In this world.]

[Of course not, because that would actually be useful.]

You should learn it. It would give us a better advantage than having our enemies dancing around randomly with no control.

[Frowns a little and looks away.]

It's one of the three Unforgivable Curses. I do know the incantation, but I've never attempted to cast it before. Though I'm sure there's more to it than just pointing my wand and saying some words.
