[If so, what is the culture like here?]: The legend goes that King Ukir of Darkcloud Kingdom is a very, very old man who decided he didn’t want to live on the ocean one day. He lived in a very large city wide tower that housed many of his loyal subjects and at the top of it was one very large ‘sun stone’ a yellow gem that helped the kingdom thrive. Making a deal with a mysterious man, King Ukir was granted a long life and a levitating island. The clouds around the earth hide it from the sea below and help hold it in the sky. The clouds are fluffy but dense, able to walk on them the darker they are. The father out you walk, the more of a chance you have to fall off.
[Island peculiarities]: There are several huge tunnels in the island, where propellers can be lowered and pushed out, spinning to propel the island in case of need to move it, though they are rarely used. Emergency reasons only.
The clouds are huge and from below they look like an enormous storm cloud. The piece of land is supported by the clouds, floating in them. You can park a boat in the darker clouds, but lighter ones are more apt to sink a ship, very slowly. Walking the clouds feels springy and light, but the whiter the cloud the less safe it is.
It’s rare that anyone comes here, so when a ship does make it up here it’s almost a bit celebration. The people of the city tend to like good people who come with fun things to trade. It’s too hard for them to get anything from below so come with some fine goods! the people of the Darkcloud Kingdom are very fine seamstresses and tailors. Light flowing silkish clothing and wide footed cloud shoes that work very well in most clouds and even help some fast people run on water.
There is a large purple glowing tree hanging off one cliff. This tree is huge, branches stretching out and trunk wide. Its roots wrap around the cliff and through it. the fruit from this tree is what the locals call Cloud Fruits and eating a ripe fruit will leave the person happy and light feelings (which also makes it easier to walk on the clouds in further regions). An unripened cloud fruit is very hard and will weigh a person down, not only in weight but in bad thoughts.

ota + looking for Kat
Other than that, Faye was also on the lookout for Kat, since they had a little bet to discuss*
Sorry for the waitz >w<
This island was rather boring compared to the previous one. Or maybe that's because it was festival on it and everyone was drunk and dangerous. Sighing, Katarina moves from yet another stand, rubbing back of her head.]
No worries!! :3
Not having a good time?
Gurrrl tiemz~
Not really. This... stuff is not really my type of thing.
no subject
*She smirked, proud of herself as she delivered this news, then leaned to look at some jewellery on the stall beside them*
no subject
Oh? That is fun to hear. What happened?
no subject
Í went on a date. With a very hot guy. First, he took me for dinner. Then he took me to a delicious bakery for cake, because maybe he knew how badly I want cake sometimes. That's not even the romantic part...
*She adjusted her hair, looking smug and pausing for effect*
He took me into a clearing in the forest where there was a large lake. He used a fire beneath a waterfall to keep the water warm. It was lit by a lantern, and rocks that glowed beneatb the water. It was gorgeous. And very romantic. Therefore, I win.
no subject
That sounds quite nice. However, do you have any proof for it? You do know I have trust issues. [This was both joke and Kat being serious. She does have trust issues.]
no subject
Sure I did. I remembered we'd agreed on proof. I brought back the bag from the bakery, and one of the glowing stones. They're in my room if you really want to see them.
*She looked at Kat a moment before cocking her head at her*
You really didn't think it would happen, did you? You didn't think anyone would do something so romantic for me.
no subject
Katarina crosses her hands-]
I wasn't thinking you specifically. I was talking more in general but it doesn't matter since it's not related to bet. But yes, I didn't think people are as romantic as they seemed to be in the past.
no subject
*Faye started laughing at Kat's comments about romance, and she nodded slowly in agreement*
You're telling me! A beer and a lousy meal - that's usually it! A bottle of wine and they expect you to take your clothes off. But this guy? No. He's romantic, even if he doesn't always realise it.
no subject
[Katarina can relate to beer and lousy meal. She sighs-] Alright. You won this one. Just so you know, I don't lose bets so often. [She throws her hands in the air-] You get to boss me for one day- a deal's a deal.
no subject
*Faye laughed, still just so pleased with herself, and looked up and down the stalls*
Hmm. Trying to decide if I want to do this now... Or wait for another day at a more exciting island. For now, you might want to pick up a new dress for our big night out. Not a black dress.
*She began to move to the next stall, expecting Kat to follow*
So, what about romance for you? Any guys in this world catch your eye yet?
no subject
She follows after Faye-] You decide on it, since you won the bet. I only follow. [Her eyes travel over some very short orange dresses, silky green dresses and floral long dresses. And each of them is making Katarina cringe- she'll have to wear that??
At the question, Katarina gives a sing-] I ran into eye-candy, I can't deny. But it's when they open their mouth that my legs seem to drag me away from them.
no subject
*Finally Faye came across a stall that had rails of dresses, mostly red, black, and shades of blue and green. She pulled out a long dress, somewhat revealing all the same, in a midnight blue colour, and held it out to Kat to examine*
Ooh. Eye candy? Anyone I might know...?
no subject
[She takes dress that Faye picked up and places it against her body. She makes a face and looks over at her-]
Blue is not my color. Because of the hair. [She feels like a rainbow.]
no subject
*Faye shook her head at Kat then took back the blue dress, then handed her a deep emeraldgreen one, that would suit her complexion much more*
Try this. Suits your eyes and your hair.
no subject
[She takes the dress and checks it out then shrugs-] Alright. [She looks around for changing room and is led to one by a merchant.] If I look like broccoli in this, it's your fault. [-is last thing she adds before stepping in to change.]
no subject
Good. I don't like sharing.
*When Kat went to change, Faye rolled her eyes. She wondered if maybe she should have given Kat an uglier dress. She knew Kat would look stunning in that colour, and worried ahe wouldn't find anything as nice to wear for herself*
Whatever. Just try it on.
no subject
They should have taught how to zip up dresses back at the academy... [-is the only complaint that comes from the dressing room, and directed more to herself than complaining to Faye.
She's done in sever moments and steps out, trying to straighten out the dress- she felt as if she got stuck in a bag.]
How does it look?
no subject
You look like men would want to eat you alive. Which is exactly what you want when you're going out catching eye candy.
*She said it simply and straight forward*
What do you think?
no subject
If we take in my opinion, then I wouldn't be wearing dress right now.
[But she looks back at the mirror and tilts her head- it actually... doesn't look all that bad.]
But... I think I can work with this.
no subject
Whatever you think is just too bad. I won the bet so what I say goes.
*Wandering back to the stall, Faye picked out a similar dress, but in a red colour*
And I'll wear this. Together we'll be the most attractive things in the bar for sure. The men won't know what's hit them.
no subject
Oh they'll know what hit them. They just won't know how to deal with it.
[She takes a look in the mirror again and... her eyes fall on the boots.]
We need heels as well, don't we?
no subject
*Faye chuckled as she took her dress to go try on. She continued to chat to Kat, calling through the curtain, as she tried on the dress*
Uh, of course. The heels are a vital part of the outfit. See any you like?
