Malevolent Mist on Spice Island
Who: Triton’s Mistress
Where: Spice Island
When: Oct. 10 - ??
What: As members of the crew touched by the mist grow more malicious they begin to cause turmoil on the ship turning a normal spice run chaotic.
Warnings: Possible fighting and language
Style: Whatever you want
Status: Closed to crew
The prow of the Mistress cut effortlessly through the salty water as the ship came to rest along side the dock. The uninhabited island was well known for its vast array of plant life, the bulk of which could be sold on the open market as spices or used to brighten up a weary sailor’s galley-cooked meals. Several large washtub sat on the dock just waiting for some one ambitious enough to fill them full of the island’s delicacies.
The trip to the island had been relatively calm with no major storms or hardships to slow their travel but now that they had docked odd things seemed to be happening all too frequently. Maybe the black mist the morning before had something to do with it?

Once that was done she got what she needed out and started to tend to the wounds, making sure her voice was in a low whisper too. "I'm use to getting beaten and battered, so this is nothing. But that's not the point." She stopped speaking as she finished cleaning the wounds, reaching over to be able to get the bandages that she knew would need to be used for now.
"Is it okay to ask if you've noticed anything that might be useful to help us escape. Things that could breaks the shackles or certain members of navy with keys?"

"....." His frown deepened when she said she was used to it. They all had sordid pasts didn't they? Maybe when they were back in a more hospitable atmosphere, they could discuss the subject. He didn't really think she wanted to share her personal stories with the Navy dogs. "... that's something.. no one should have to be used to." He tried to keep the wincing to a minimum as she operated.
"Mm." He affirmed. There was nothing wrong with asking it. "Now that you mention it..." He trailed off as a couple of extra officers passed by. "I have been looking for just those sort of of things..." He drew in a shakey breath, and scrunched his eyes closed for a second, before continuing. "There is a guard that passes by on his rounds at regular intervals..." He couldn't tell her the precise time, due to the lack of a visible time piece but... based on the stages of the sunlight. "He's always carrying a full set of keys.. I can hear them jingling each time he comes around.. as near as I can tell he walks by at noon," When the shadows are smallest,"Then again later six hours after..." Yes he had time to count. As pathetic as that is. "He only emerges on the grounds twice a day, but he is alone.. and armed."

While thoughts went through her head she had finished off the bandaging. It seemed decent enough even with somewhat shaky hands. "There we go, so long as I'm allowed to tend to you and give them another 'worker' things should be alright." She said as she started to put stuff away before turning her head around for a moment. She could see that at this second they weren't paying that much attention, confident that they couldn't escape anyway.
With them occupied she took that moment to lean in and whisper. "I'm thinking of ideas of how to escape, after what happened I cannot be sure that our crew would rescue us. That's why I asked about the keys."

He winced a little as she finished applying the bandage, but otherwise he mostly refrained from moving at all if he could help it. It was definitely an improvement from before. Now there would be something there to apply pressure so that even if the wound opened up again it should stop bleeding quicker. "Yeah- so long as our captors don't get squirrely and change their minds." In a roundabout way he tried to thank her. Saying it overtly was something he tended to avoid. "If.. we get out of this, remind me to treat you to some high quality sushi" Or.. you know.. "thank you". Just suggesting that he might part with some of his money on her behalf was a step up though!
The cockiness of the guards could ultimately lead to their downfall.
"You're right to be concerned about that- whatever affected Haythem might not be over yet.... and if he managed to stuff the bulk of us into that damned box then there might not be anyone coming." He totallly approved of this idea. "I think the armory.. is that first door under the left guard tower. I keep seeing them go in there, and come out with fresh weapons.."

"Yeah... That box" she said looking down. Mentioning it was enough to give her a slight shiver. She didn't want to be reminded of what happened there. It was horrible. "I know of one other that was captured, but no one else. I just assumed considering his position on the ship he'd get the others to just leave and they'd follow." It was harsh of her to say that the crew would follow, but she figured that much.
"Got it...I think I can get there when it all starts off. Is there something you'd want me to get you if I manage?"
