Battle On Th' High Seas

Who: Anyone who wants to partake
Where: In the waters between Turvey Top and Ebony & Ivory
When: October 17th 2pm-6pm
What: Battle, mayhem, treasure and piracy
Warnings: Violence
Status: Very open!
Around 1:45pm, ships gathered in the waters between Turvey Top and Ebony & Ivory will see the gigantic Naval frigate, the Argustos, chugging through the calm waters to destinations unknown. Close by and running a little ahead on the wind is a Naval scout ship, caravel class, named Pantopes.
Sharp eyes will be able to spot the ships on the Argustos' tail, though, and the giant frigate will weigh anchor to prepare for the attack of the Corpse King and his five ship Armada, made of three caravels and two brig sloops.
The Corpse King himself has a brig sloop, Achlys and will be at the back end of the battle, providing cover fire.
Feel free to attack to your heart's content and loot wherever you wish. There's great treasures there for the bold and daring, and most unpleasant deaths for the unwary.

Holy crap, Kat... Nice!!
[Impressed, he ran quickly to pick up his sword and join her. There were sure to be more men to replace those that had fallen]
no subject
Don't get.. used to it. I can't pull that move often in this world.
[She looks around, trying to asses the situation. Their ship is showering this with canons, making decent damage, but the men don't seem to dwindle down on their numbers. She frowns-]
What are we after on this ship? Just taking it down or we need to find something...someone? [Yes, she's here and has no idea what the task is. She's craved some action.]
no subject
Well there was never any thorough discussion, but I assumed the goal was to take out this Hawtry 'corpse king' guy...the captain of this small attacking fleet and probably on this ship somewhere.
no subject
So, a regular hack'n'slash situation? We will find the Hawtry fucker and take him down.
no subject
[by now the small fry were starting to attack again, though with a little less fervor now that their dead were literally all over the deck. Thash paused in the conversation to hit the blade out of one attacker's hands and slash him across the chest, nearly cutting all the way through his body]
Not that I'm unwilling to try it or anything- just sayin' we can't expect an easy fight.
[though knowing Kat that would probably only excite her more. He was getting a little excited himself just thinking about it]
no subject
The bigger they are, the harder they fall and the better sound they make.
[The thought of getting down someone like that indeed sets her blood on fire. After spending weeks of sitting around, this is like Christmas coming early.]
no subject
[true, the higher the challenge the more exciting it would be for him...but also more dangerous. As much fun as he was having, he didn't think of fighting and bloodshed as a game. Just a necessary and enjoyable fact of life. He picked off a few more enemy crew, getting pretty blood covered in the process. That only served to up his heart rate a little bit more]
Well if you're going in after him, I'll go with you. I've got no idea where he is exactly, but we can probably hunt him down.
[he hadn't been real keen on looking for the corpse king on his own, especially after promising a certain someone he'd try to come back in one piece. But with Kat along, he felt like the chance of success was much higher]
Any idea where we should start?
no subject
Probably below the deck. Most of the force went down, probably to regroup. We can't let them do that.
[She crouches next to the mast, setting the hand on the deck, trying to think, to remember stuff she learned from the experience-]
He's probably somewhere where he can dish out orders- close enough to hold all the strings in his grasp, and away just enough so that we can't reach him by normal means or with just one person.
no subject
[he watched her think for a moment, glad it seemed like her training or knowledge gave her at least an idea where to look in this situation. He still couldn't infer what kind of a place she might be referring to though by what she said]
So, um.... Do you think you know of a place like that below the deck? Or should we just charge down there and look.
[finding one person on a ship that he didn't know the scent of wasn't his strong point]
no subject
Gun deck. [She stands up- it was simple. The place was big enough for men to gather and move around. Enough to get it cramped enough to make it almost impossible to get to the back line of the gun deck.]
Captain's cabin has easy access to it, right? He can issue canon fire and regroup the troops at the same time from there.
no subject
[this ship was bigger than theirs and likely had a different layout, but the gun deck wouldn't be hard to find...not with constant cannon fire to guide them to its location]
[there were a few crew coming up and obstructing their way (perhaps to keep them away from the regrouping) but not nearly as many as before. Thash charged towards them, wasting no time in slashing and biting his way through them until the path belowdecks was open]
Alright, let's go!
no subject
Heads up fuckers, for you're going down.
[She kicked the last one, making him tumble down the stairs and jumping down in one swift move. The enemies came from left and right, swinging at them. She'd suggest they split, but it doesn't seem smart if Hawtry guy is as strong as Thash says. So she gets her sword and proceeds to make carnage right where she stands.]
no subject
[the enemies seemed to get more desperate as they saw their fellows fall, but that didn't help them have any more success. If anything it made them weaker and the bodies started to like up. Only when Thash and Kat had a circular pile of bodies around them several corpses deep did the living ones start to back off in fear. However, there was someone down there behind them all that would have none of it. They'd hear a voice shouting at the crew members to charge and stop being cowards.... Thash wondered who that yelling person might be; clearly they were higher ranking than the standard guys they'd been mowing down]
no subject
[She stood there, in the middle of blood bath, covered in said blood from head to toe but she doesn't seem to be bothered by it one bit. As suspected, just below the deck, at the canon area, their enemy seemed to regroup. And they would have succeeded if Thash and Kat didn't dive in and made a slaughter. She didn't seem very tired but she did had a wary aura about her.
She once made a mistake by charging in without thinking. She has a scar on her eye to prove it. She decides to get them rid of any and all enemy that could stand in their way. When there was none- either dead or scrambling a deck below, she turned towards Thash.]
no subject
[When the relentless assault stopped he glanced at Kat too, then jumped over the pile of bodies and looked for the corpse king...though he wasn't sure what the guy would look like, he was expecting to see someone that looked like a Captain. Instead, he saw three more crew members. These were different though. They weren't charging but they did not look remotely scared]
Think we might've finally flushed out some strong fighters here...
[he raised his bloody blade, glaring at the three blocking their progress]
no subject
[But the yelling had stopped which indicated that the bastard had moved. To where, she doesn't know because before they could go after him, three soldiers appeared, not looking too shabby. Underestimating the opponent is not something Katarina can afford to herself.
She whiffs her blades around her, the excess blood landing at the walls and gets into stance-]
If we lose too much time on these three, bastard might escape. Let's do this swiftly.

[before them stood three very different warriors. One seemed tall and strong of build and was decked out head to toe in armor. The second was a serious and elegant female with a long, thin sword. The third was a little short and skinny, a guy with a crazed look in his eye and blades attached to his gloves like claws]
I'll focus on the tank for starters...[without delaying any longer, Thash charged towards their enemies and swung his sword at the tall armored guy. He raised a forearm with a bracer on it, which stopped Thash's sword but took a hefty dent to show for it. The armored guy growled and started trying to punch or grab Thash, while the other two spread out. The female came for Kat, and the thin guy slipped Into the shadows]
no subject
I'll break that stick of yours.
[With a hiss, Kat used her shunpo and appeared behind the woman, aiming her steel boot at the other's head. It was parried with a sword and woman jumped off, before dashing towards Kat, pushing her backwards. She used her blades to parry her off and growled, waiting for the opening to exploit. She's assassin, so she'll use her skills properly.]

[eventually he took a chance and after dodging a kick, he took the time to pull his sword all the way back and swing it with all his might at his enemy's neck. It had the desired effect; plowing into the armor and not only breaking it mostly off but leaving a dangerous slash on the now exposed skin. There were two downsides though...one, the cut wasn't quite deep enough to have hit an artery and two, his hardy opponent didn't let the pain cause him to pass up the chance Thash's pause gave him. He lunged closer the shark hybrid immediately after the swing, trying to wrap his burly, metal-sheathed arms around Thash's much smaller body]

Like kick to the woman's face for example. She had dropped her guard for just a second and Katarina used the opportunity to slam her foot up her jaw. It made the woman stumble backwards and then drop all the poise and grace- with a yell she dashed at Katarina, suddenly pulling out second blade she had on her. Katarina tried to use the space between canons, other people's corpses to trip her up but it scarcely worked. Her stamina was still low from last shunpo, for at least next two minutes so she has to defend herself until it's back up.]

[the strong man quickly crushed the breath out of him and he felt his ribs starting to crack, though he was unable to even scream in pain. He thrashed around and his tail slammed heavily against the armored guy's legs, but it seemed to do little good. Finally as his sight was turning red he started biting at the armor in front of his face. His shark teeth could chomp through it luckily, and after tearing off some metal he bit down into the flesh beneath. It was an awkward angle so his bite wasn't real deep, but it was painful enough to make his enemy yell loudly and let go of him]
no subject
But she couldn't focus on that guy for too long. The woman very skillful with two blades and was making decent slices on Katarina's clothes and skin. The defense was draining Katarina's concentration so she dropped it and started attacking back. She could feel a deep cut on her hip but she didn't mind it.
She gathered the rest of her stamina for one last shunpo to reappear behind her, exploiting one second of confusion to pierce the woman's middle from behind with both of her blades. She pulled them out and woman fell face first, leaving Katarina in panting mess, facing Thash and the big guy. She wanted to give him a hand, but she knew that being out of breath and tired will make her attacks sloppy and she would only get in the way.]

[the man gave a gurgling groan as Thash's teeth sunk deep, and he grasped at him, staggering backwards. As Thash let go the man managed to grab his neck, gripping it tightly to pull him off. The hold was so right Thash would have been in trouble if he hadn't bitten deep enough, but he'd see he had as a second later his enemy lost his strength and passed out, blood gushing from his neck. He toppled to the ground and Thash extricated himself and stood up, coughing a bit.]
[He picked up his sword and turned towards Kat, glad to see she'd killed her opponent but concerned about that deep slash in her hip]
You okay? [he asked a bit breathlessly, listening and glancing around for the third warrior who still had not shown himself]
no subject
Maybe.. we should come back with Grell.
[She looked around the room and barely made a step forward when she heard something behind her. The only thing that crossed her mind at that moment was 'I can't dodge this'. She had no stamina to shunpo over to Thash and her body was feeling too heavy from the battle. Did the woman's blades do something to her?
She didn't have time to think about it. The feeling was way too familiar from the Summoner's Rift. Well crafted, thin blade, pierced right through her chest. She could feel the blood rapidly feeling her lungs and she coughed, the metallic taste filling her mouth.
The blade twisted few times before leg kicked her in the back hard, sending her flying forward and off the sword. Her blades made loud thud on the ground, and one spun over to Thash's feet even.]
You two gave me quite a show. I appreciate it very much. [The Hawtry captain nodded at Katarina's body at that.] You're next, shark boy.

[Thash hadn't necessarily dropped his guard, but his senses were a little slow to detect movement over behind Kat. Immediately alert, he opened his mouth to warn her but his voice caught in his throat as he saw the bloody tip of a blade protrude from her chest. He almost couldn't believe what he was seeing when she toppled to the ground and her blade came sliding towards him]
KAT!! [he finally shouted, shock and anger rising in his chest. His mind didn't even process what the corpse king said to him, but his eyes turned towards the man, full of hate]
I'LL KILL YOU!! [He screamed in rage, one hand reaching down to snatch up Kat's blade quickly just before he sprinted towards his target with both weapons. In his blind wrath, he was completely taken by surprise when the skinny guy kicked down onto his back, making him go down. He felt a blade near his neck and lashed his tail at his attacker blindly, luckily hitting him off. By the time he'd scrambled back to his feet, the corpse king was gone again]
[while a small part of his mind warned Thash he needed to get out of there, he first stopped to check Katarina. He called her name, shook her shoulder and checked for breathing... But she was gone. Sadness gripped him and he nearly broke down right there, but mourning wasn't something he had the time for right then. A second later the skinny guy had jumped out to attack him, and Thash turned his despair to rage again.]
[after a moment of fighting the third and last warrior, the little guy took off to run to the deck. Thash grabbed Kat's second blade quickly, putting them both in his belt before he pursued. Once he was on the deck, the skinny guy used lower crew members to distract the shark long enough to stab him in the back with a dark-colored knife. Thash managed to kill him after that, but as much as he wanted to retrieve Kat's body, he knew if he stuck around any longer he'd end up joining her. Angry, sad, poisoned and bleeding, he returned to the ]
