Battle On Th' High Seas

Who: Anyone who wants to partake
Where: In the waters between Turvey Top and Ebony & Ivory
When: October 17th 2pm-6pm
What: Battle, mayhem, treasure and piracy
Warnings: Violence
Status: Very open!
Around 1:45pm, ships gathered in the waters between Turvey Top and Ebony & Ivory will see the gigantic Naval frigate, the Argustos, chugging through the calm waters to destinations unknown. Close by and running a little ahead on the wind is a Naval scout ship, caravel class, named Pantopes.
Sharp eyes will be able to spot the ships on the Argustos' tail, though, and the giant frigate will weigh anchor to prepare for the attack of the Corpse King and his five ship Armada, made of three caravels and two brig sloops.
The Corpse King himself has a brig sloop, Achlys and will be at the back end of the battle, providing cover fire.
Feel free to attack to your heart's content and loot wherever you wish. There's great treasures there for the bold and daring, and most unpleasant deaths for the unwary.

Yeah. I've been hurt a lot, even by people who I tried to be nice to and work with. Even by people I spared after they tried to kill me. Eventually I just gave up. Mercy for my enemies isn't something I have a lot of anymore.
[there was a short pause]
...and I know it's hard. [it was even harder to actively drown people yourself, the first few times. He thought he might scare her if he said that, though]
I guess as long as you're helping your crew it's none of my business how you do it. I just don't want you to learn the hard way how ungrateful people can be. I also come from a different world though, and overall, I'd say the people here are nicer. So maybe my pessimistic view isn't as valid here.

[a cannon ball crashed through the water a few yards away, making her ‘jump’ a bit, before swimming around him a bit to look past at the sinking ball. She’s used a few of those as rudder blocks before. She then came in near his side, giving him a smile.] Thank you, for saying something though. It’s pessimistic, but still valid. You’re very kind.
Where are you headed? Is there some way I can help you?
no subject
Kind? Heh... No, you're kind. A lot kinder than some sharky jerk swimmin' up and questioning how you do things. [it was out of concern, but he still felt sort of mean for talking to her that way]
I'm going to go sabotage the rudder of the Corpse King's flagship. I'm confident I can handle it on my own, so maybe you should stay where you'll be of most use to your crew. Thanks for asking, though. [he knew he'd better get going soon, but it'd feel rude to leave so abruptly so he decided to stay a few more seconds] What crew are you on anyway?
no subject
It’s okay. You were just concerned, and I know it’s potentially dumb. I just felt bad. oh! But if I am holding you up, please don’t let me. We both have missions!
[She arched back and grinned] Hazmat pirates! my name’s Ariel. What about you? [at least she can figure out who he was and where he was from before going back to work!]

[he looked at her more straightforwardly, remembering not so long ago he'd been reluctant to give his name out. Fortunately that tendency had gradually disappeared since arriving here] I'm Thash. I'm with the Bloody Roses, though I hope you won't let that put you off... [he was aware of his crew's reputation for burning things for no reason and killing innocent people. Two things he was against, personally.]
I should go, but maybe we'll meet again sometime. Nice to meet you Ariel...good luck.

[she smiled at him though and have a small wave] Either way, nice to meet you Thash and good luck to you too. I hope to run into you again!
[and she twisted around and dove down, going for a cannon ball or a rock. Sorry though, she's still going to help a person or two]
no subject
[He wouldn't bothered by it if she helped more people; at least she'd been warned and he hoped his concerns would turn out to be unnecessary anyway. He wasn't about to go saving any enemies himself though....the most he offered opponents mercy-wise these days was a quick death]
