Where: Noctem
When: January 21st-25th
What: Taking on Hawtrey, destroying shrines, and raiding his supplies. Surviving Noctem...or not. With a good dose of nightmares in between.
Warnings: Language. Violence. Trauma. It's an island of nightmares. Expect the worst.
Status: Open to all.


Killing Hawtrey seems to come first and foremost. The shrines can wait until after. We'll see if the wind blows fair or ill on that decision (on the 25th).

[summing_it_up]

[Holding on for dear life and coordination, Hiccup checks his surroundings, feeling the shock of the impacting plasma blasts across the sky. Small areas clear up, but another mess of creatures come together within seconds.]

OhgodsToothless! Down!

[DIVE DIVE DIVE]

[Almost immediately upon Hiccup's word, the dragon quickly tucks his wings against him as he angles down, and they descend sharply, just short of the mass of creatures that threaten to overtake them.]

[With confusion up above, the two plummet. Hiccup shifts the gears again, barely breathing as he thinks up the next move.

It becomes clear when he sees some of them diving after them.]

Hold ooon...

[Thin hands yank at the grips for timing purposes, trying to change or flip the dragon's perspective in their descent. The idea is simple enough.]

Give 'em all you got!!

[This was a familiar predicament, although between a super-sized dragon and a horde of smaller things, Toothless thinks he prefers the latter. He cranes his head around as well as he can, trying not to shift his body so much that it might send them into a spiral.

At Hiccup's order, the dragon opens his mouth, fire building like a stoked forge before Toothless spews it out, several shots in succession to try and take down if not disperse their pursuers.]

[Having flashbacks during this doesn't help, but it's always nice to see that history isn't exactly repeating itself. Each shot flies up, most of them hitting the targets necessary to clear the air. The excessive shrieking tells Hiccup they're doing good.]

YEAH!!

[With a grin, the viking switches gears again, pulling to guide the Night Fury around.]

Wanna go again?!

[Smoothly the dragon snaps out his wings and turns up again, gaining altitude.

He glances back at Hiccup with a jubilant expression and a growl in confirmation. They shouldn't get too hung up with things out here- after all, they have that altar to be destroyed!]

[Hiccup nods.]

Okay. We'll finish up this one, then head back down. Sound good?

[Toothless growlfs in acknowledgment, flapping his wings as they ease into a curved path of flight that should line them up with the altar nicely.]

[Auburn hair is blown upward, angling as Toothless takes a new flight path. Some of the flying creatures swoop down to get at them. The viking ducks, brow furrowing.]

Whoa! Hey, we gave you a break! And you guys really should know what a Night Fury is capable of doing now!

[Ugh. Hiccup shakes his head, tugging on the handle.]

They never learn. Let's give them one last reminder, bud!

[Hiccup doesn't have to tell him twice!

That building whine as they cut through the air is once again expelled in a brilliant plume of violet plasma flames as Toothless fires.]

[summing_it_up]

[SO MUCH EXHILARATION AND EXPLOSION. The viking whoops, steering the Night Fury in a descending arc as the creatures above scatter and/or fall away.]

You did great, bud! Now let's see what everyone else is doing.

[Yeah, that's enough fun up here for one day! The dragon veers easily around, eyes peeled for their allies below.]

[Wheeeee TIME TO DO THINGS TO THE SHRINE]

Okay, bud, here we go. You know what to do!

[You got it Viking buddy!

Toothless brings them around, his sights set at the target. Is that the target? It sure has a targetty quality to it, and if it's what these flying things have been keeping them away from, then obviously it's gotta go.

Powering up. Plasma blast in 3...2....1...FIRE!]

YEAH BABY!!!!

[The exclamation is drowned out by the blast and resulting explosion. This adrenaline rush will die down sometime, but not now.]

[Aw yeah, nothing like taking out an evil shrine to make your day. The Night Fury belts out a few more smaller bursts of flame in victory, and if they take out any stray fliers, then just as well!]

[Yes, good dragon, take out a few other fliersheywait one of those bursts is right in the middle of their flight path

Okay maybe he celebrated too early.]
