PIRATES vs. NAVY BATTLE LOG

December 9th finds some new arrivals to this world, the same curious phenomenon that's been occurring for the past few months.

This time, however, the Navy is prepared -- or so they think.

They've got troops stationed around the island, and ships on the water to stop any arrogant, foolhardy pirates and would-be sailors from trying to make port.

So hit them with all you've got, but they're not going down easily...

[He keeps his pace brisk and quick, not talking until they've got a block or two between them and the soldiers, who are milling around curiously.]

Oh, just the usual. Stuck in a parallel world, xenophobic military types trying to kill everyone from other worlds as they come through the wormhole. Some friends of mine and I are trying to break up their blockade, of course.

[He stops, grinning at her.]

And...look at you! You're so very...here!

[bigbadrose]

Oh, of course.

[Grins back up at him.] Of course I am! Till the end of forever. Sorry I'm late though, yeah? [Sticks her tongue out at him a little.] I blame you for that.

[She has no idea how long Doctor's been here without her or how, much less that they're supposed to be apart, oops.]

[He wiggles a finger.]

I didn't do this one. Remember, interdimensional travel and how the TARDIS can't do that? This is something else.

[He looks back behind him, and his eyes widen. The soldiers have figured out his ruse.]

Oh...oh dear. Run. Run fast.

[bigbadrose]

We're in a different dimension agai--?

[A quick glance, and really, you don't need to tell Rose twice, she just bolts, dragging the Doctor along with her. You didn't think she was going to let go of his hand now did you? Not happening.]

So what kind of -- [Oh gosh asking questions while running is hard. Not enough air.] -- Place is this?

Yeah...

[His long legs make it fairly easy to keep up, and he turns back only briefly to zap a streetlamp with his screwdriver, giving them an obstacle.]

World full of pirates, all sorts of them. Mostly...pant...water. Navy types don't like offworlders...thought...we'd stop them from arresting anyone new as they come through...

Oh good... [HUFF PUFF!]

And how long have you been here then? [Which is weird, she has to say.]

Oh....[Huff]...three months? Four? I don't remember really. Been at sea for most of it.

[bigbadrose]

What?

[No even for time shenanigans that's way wrong.]

No TARDIS, dear.

[He rounds a corner into an alley, one he's specially prepared for a sort of hideaway. And the soldiers run on by without a glance.]

There, now that's done. Explanations, I suppose.

[bigbadrose]

Yes. [Armfold.] 'Bout time.

One, what's this about alternate dimensions? This isn't my Dad's world or anything, is it? [Like a billion years in the past.]

And two... well everything else actually, yeah.

Right, well. It's not your father's, no. It's another one. Not even Earth, and most people here aren't from any version of Earth.

And yeah, explanations. Basically? We're stuck here till we find a way home. Unfortunately, there's this ghostly...pirate...thing...calling itself Davy Jones. The thing wants us to find it this sort of gem, which supposedly has the power to send us home. So. Joined a pirate crew, sailed off in search of the said gem. Haven't found it yet, though.

[bigbadrose]

Right. A ghost pirate going by Davy Jones wants use to find a treasure so you're a pirate now?

[A shrug.] Get me an eyepatch and a parrot.

That's the spirit! I'll introduce you to the crew soon. They're a wild bunch, mostly off fighting these Navy types right now. But that'll die down soon enough.

Fighting humans? And you're okay with that? That's new.
