Somehow, he hadn't expected Sakura's name to turn up in the journal. Given who else from his world was also here, he likely should have: there was clearly neither rhyme nor reason as to who was pulled from where and when, though if Davy Jones was trying to pick people out for power, he was certainly raking through Sasuke's world thoroughly.

His frame was tense as he stalked through Empieza toward the fountain to meet Sakura, ignoring the way the locals still gave him apprehensive looks and surreptitiously left a space around him even in the marketplace.

Who: Murderess and anyone who wants the dubious joy of joining in.

What: There's nothing more dangerous than a boy with charm. Or a bowl of mind-controlling candy, whichever comes first.

The appearance of anything unexpected on board, especially given that Sasuke left the Nav trapped, was alarming enough on its own. Theoretically being docked might have made it easier -- maybe he should have trapped the entire ship to make sure no one could get on or off, though -- and he might have been more inclined to ignore them if not for one thing.

He kind of wanted to eat them.

Given his lifelong and solid dislike of sweets, that alone was enough to make Sasuke eye the brightly-coloured candy balefully where he'd spotted it, pacing the deck for a insomniac midnight stroll before dawn of the fourteenth.

Sasuke hadn't been joking about training, and the more he'd seen of discussions in the journal, the more serious he'd been. It was clear enough that most of the people in this world had -- or believed they had -- some manner of ability, but beyond that the level of actual combat experience appeared to vary wildly. Before they could hope to be remotely effective with six other ships filled with unknown quantities, they needed to work out how not to interfere with each other.

That was the practical reason: the less practical reason was the side of him that had perhaps been Orochimaru's favourite and simply liked to see new powers and abilities.

Both reasons were part of why he was the first on deck at the time Marv had chosen for crew training. (The rest of why lay mostly in a learned dislike of enclosed spaces.) Standing at ease on the railing, chakra channeled to his feet to keep him steady, Sasuke folded his arms and waited to see what the other people on board had to bring to the table.

As if it weren't humiliating enough to have been forced to make a run from the unexpected number of whatever the armed forces had been (not shinobi by their movements, but trained enough), he'd been roundly lambasted for a fool by the woman whose shop he'd ended up ducking into to avoid the searchers -- but if what the girl who had called herself a 'Precure' was right, then not everyone in this world was a construction of genjutsu. It was perhaps less that Sasuke was inclined to spare lives, though it was certainly a waste of a chakra reserve that continued to deplete more rapidly than was normal, and more that there was a possibility of useful information from a real person than a piece of the illusion.

If it weren't an illusion, as the shopkeeper had insisted ... that was an idea he had no time to contemplate before he'd found himself unceremoniously shoved into something she called a 'Nav' and, in the next moment, stumbling into a completely different place altogether.

There had been no reverse-summons seal that he'd seen, no exchange of blood for a kuchiyose, just a moment of being in the dim light of the shop and then sunlight full in his eyes, forcing him to roll into a defensive crouch before he'd even fully processed his location on ... the deck of a ship?

Depleted as it was, his chakra flared in alarm at the realisation that not only was he at sea, but he wasn't alone.

Sasuke had known that Obito and Madara weren't sane well before he'd heard the details of the Eye of the Moon plan, but he hadn't realized the extent to which they had planned out their madness. His first instinct on waking had been to burn that joke of a message out of hand, but second thought had made him consider the likelihood of one or both of them having left a clue in it -- whichever one had somehow managed to activate the Infinite Tsukuyomi.

That had left him with his second instinct: destruction.

If this was meant to be the illusion of eternal obedience and peace, it shouldn't have been as easy as it was to activate his own Mangekyou and summon Susano'o's flesh and bones, purple chakra swallowing up the town square with ease and -- a certain amount of drain that was unusual, but not entirely expected after how much chakra he'd been using lately.

After that, it was barely any chakra at all to start a fire: just a regular blaze for now, catching the scraggly plant life lining the square with ease and licking up the walls.

Voice venomous, he lifted one of Susano'o's humongous fists and smashed it down onto the ridiculous fountain, cracking its stone rim and spilling water in a steady leak. How will you maintain the peace now, Madara?
