PIRATES vs. NAVY BATTLE LOG

December 9th finds some new arrivals to this world, the same curious phenomenon that's been occurring for the past few months.
This time, however, the Navy is prepared -- or so they think.
They've got troops stationed around the island, and ships on the water to stop any arrogant, foolhardy pirates and would-be sailors from trying to make port.
So hit them with all you've got, but they're not going down easily...

BEFORE THE MADNESS - MILES OUT
Sneaking around on a ship, though--while he could still argue it was courteous--was exceptionally difficult. They snuffed their lanterns and started their route towards the patrols, looking to sneak between them. If they were caught, Ace's strike force would play dead, pretending to just be a runaway vessel, already raided. The Navy wouldn't fuss. They would take whatever supplies they needed.
Ace's plan counted on the Navy finding them--not another pirate vessel. Plain as day, he didn't expect anyone to be as crazy as he was, going towards a noted blockade.]

THE SEA OUTSIDE THE HARBOR
Once the fighting starts, other ships in the blockade will rush in to help, and even more in the area will be on high alert. An important thing to note about the battles taking place here is that the Navy will learn from them. So whatever you and your crews decide to do, just remember you're being watched and studied, and everything will be taken into account for future encounters.

ALCYONE
[Still, they had insisted. And even Jade couldn't deny the importance of getting the island back. Reckless or not, the raid wasn't something they could ignore.]
[As soon as the battle began and the element of surprise was no longer a priority, Jade sprung to action. They might lack numbers, but his fonic artes were no less potent.]
"O darkened storm cloud, loose thy blade and run mine enemies through! Thunder Blade!"
[The unlucky Navy ship attempting to flank them got a nasty surprise as sword-shaped lightning struck the deck with impeccable precision. Not enough to destroy the ship, but certainly enough to keep the crew busy trying to put out the fires and avoid sinking. Jade swiftly began to prepare another arte; with just him casting, he would have to ration his energy carefully.]
[He was certainly in no position to watch his back at the same time. Here's hoping he could depend on his allies.]

Defending the Sun
"Look lively, lads. Remember, lives first, ship second. Natsuno. You're on fire duty." Since even if the vampire couldn't fight he could at least put out fires where they started.

THE SEA NEAR THE TOWN
Slipping onto a Ship - (After his crew's arrival)
The room was empty of course, with the Captain up on-deck barking out orders to the rest of his men. The papers in the desk were carefully gone over but it was the safe in the corner that held the greatest possibility. Haytham knelt by the heavy iron box and with a skill honed over many years set the tumblers of the lock into the correct position with a few deft manipulations of his lock picking tools. The papers instead were collected and safely stored in a pouch. He would have loved to gone through the leaflets now but he had been too long inside. It was time to leave before the Captain or the crew suspected.
The safe and door to the Captain's chamber were both closed behind him as he left the scene, hopefully as stealthily as he had entered.
[OOC: Run into him on the ship or back on the island. Haytham will be dressed like one of the Navy sailor though, so mistaking him for an enemy can happen too!]

HOPE OF THE SEAS
[ And then something like this had to happen. ]
[ Homura was dead set on keeping out of any major conflicts, but they NEED someplace reliable to restock supplies, chief among them the grief seeds used by her world's magical girls. And so the Hope of the Seas is out on the perimeter of the smaller Navy blockade, as one of the lighter Navy vessels makes its way toward their ketch. ]
[ She glances back to Zeref and Mami, doublechecking once more. ]
Zeref. Tomoe-san. If either of you do not wish to fight, we still have a chance of outrunning them if we turn around now. Luring Navy vessels away from the blockade would help just as much.

TOWN CENTER
Either way, they'll have their guns pointed at you. And if a bullet or two flies by mistake, well, you can hardly blame them. There's dark magic at work here, and they don't like it.
Next to the fountain
He got to his feet slowly. There's a journal in his pocket, and while he would like to take a look at it, since it didn't look like his journal, someone was shouting at him.
"Put your hands up!"
Roxas was confused. He put a hand to his forehead and turned his eyes on the one shouting at him. The words seemed innocent but he seemed aggressive. He felt like he was being threatened, and frankly, Roxas has had enough of that. He just fought through Axel and DiZ after all. He wasn't expecting Sora's mind to be this turbulent and unforgiving. On instinct he spread his arms a bit and two keyblades appeared, one in each hand. Oathkeeper and Oblivion.

He'd have been content to lay there for a few minutes while north decided to re-orient itself in his perception and the nausea (Hell, what did he drink that got him nauseated? Shit.) passed, but he hears shaky whispers loud and clear and closer than he likes.]
What do you think it is?
I have no idea
Doesn't look like the others that've come...
Who cares? It's an outsider, just shoot it!
[The metallic click of guns being lifted is enough to send Namur into motion. He surges forward, and the soldiers have only a moment to appreciate the height and bulk and vaguely torpedo shaped silhouette before it drops out of sight and three of them have their feet knocked out from beneath themselves, their rifles wrenched from their hands. Namur has the barrel of a gun in each hand and swings the butts toward the next nearest soldiers, coming at them from the side like a hurricane. He stops after two more fall and he's heard shots fired, to sniff and look at what he's up against.]
Y'all's settin' yerselves up t' make a big shitty mistake, warnin' y' right now!
[He crushes the barrel of the gun in his fist, shattering the wood and bending the metal to make his point crystal clear.]
Now, someone tell me what the hell's goin' on here!

Re: TOWN CENTER
[King Shark yawns wide, stretching out his arms as he tries to clear the cobwebs out of his head. He had to reassess, figure out what was up. Last he remembered, he was taking that Venom stuff that Bane kept on him and they were about to go fight. What happened? Unfortunately, when someone like him yawns, it looks an awful lot like he's about to attack.]
Hey, maybe one of you guys can help me fig-
[Several men open fire on him. Some bullets sting, some he doesn't feel at all. Regardless, all of them are summarily stopped from penetrating into his thick, scuted epidermis.]
Ow! You bastards! Is this any way to treat a guest?!
[The sharp-mawed behemoth rips a nearby mooring chain out of the ground, swinging it around himself angrily. It whips violently through the air, smashing into the men around him with bone-crushing force.]
I'll teach you to try and kill King Shark!

A groan escapes him as he slowly gets up from what he could only describe as a narcoleptic nap. Seriously, when did he go to sleep? He was sure he was out on the town looking for crime to stop. When everything comes into focus, confusion floods over him as he takes in the sight of this town. This looked NOTHING like Slake City. It had skyscrapers and, well, cars.
This place had stone and wooden houses and pirate ships.]
Either this is a REALLY lucid dream or somehow Slake deciding to get a MASSIVE overhaul on its design structure.
[Cross gets to his feet, brushing himself off momentarily when he just hears a "SURRENDER!"]
'Scuse me?
[And his eyes turn to see a bunch of funny looking dressed guys pointing guns at him. Before he can even say anything Cross takes notice of them already pulling the trigger. Yup, just throwing himself on the ground as a hail of bullets goes sailing over his head.
He makes a mental note to himself: bad guys.
It only takes a brief second for him to decide his course of action and it's to leap up and throw a flash bomb in their face. Giant flash and he's running the other way.
Worst wake up call ever.]

INSIDE THE LOCAL INN
Or you could just cause a mass breakout on your own.
no subject
[Why wait for someone to rescue you when you have the firepower to bust out on your own?]
Flame Wheel!
[That's the only warning the Navy officers get before a large, fiery, and loud explosion takes out half of the inn's wall. Smoldering debris litters the ground as a large creature leaps through the smoke and lands on the street outside. Gold clings to the Pokemon's back, his goggles pulled over his eyes, billiards cue and newly found (and not yet used) journal sticking out of his backpack]
I ain't payin' for that! Serves you right for arrestin' an innocent citizen!
[The surprised yells of the Navy officers can be heard from beyond the hole in the inn's wall, and Gold leans over to give his Typhlosion's head a firm pat]
Thanks, Explotaro! Now let's get outta here!

RESIDENTIAL AREA
OPTIONAL BOSS BATTLE: Oh, right, and they also have a Navy Admiral leading the troops over here. He's...a rather large fellow. Very large, actually. Unusually large. In fact, he's towering over you at a height of about twenty feet. Are there giants in this world? Where did this guy come from and why hasn't anyone discovered his home island yet?!
Boss Battle against a Giant, you say?
The buildings in the Market, at least the ones on the edge of the wreckage, were decently sized and the view he had was a good one. It was how he spotted the strange sight of a literally gigantic man dressed in the colors of the Navy. Being only three feet tall himself, and having faced off against Queen Gohma in the bowels of the Deku Tree, Link was good at understanding exactly what kind of danger he posed. And how to fight him.
Navy Admiral
The boy ran across the rooftops toward the threat, stopping on the pointed top of a building behind him. There were other Navy people near him that he seemed to be giving directions to. Link couldn't hear what they were, but he had no doubt they were evil ones meant to harm any of the new arrivals that happened to run in this direction to escape the fighting.
Giving himself a firm nod to psyche himself up, the little hero threw himself down the roof. He slid down to gather momentum, then launched himself from the edge and onto the Navy Admiral's shoulder. He had just enough time to yank the man's hair and jump off onto another roof before a massive hand could grab him. He landed on a relatively flat roof with a roll, then turned to face Admiral, slingshot at the ready. There was no doubt he had the bruiser's attention now.
For the moment I'll handle the NPC Admiral but feel free to take control of him everybody

SHIPYARD
Curiously enough, however, you might find some help here. The island being under siege certainly hasn't helped the business of the shipwrights who work here, after all! They might just be willing to lend you a hand.
They're kind of tired of the Navy crowding them anyway.
OPTIONAL BOSS BATTLE: With all the commotion going on, though, it'll catch the attention of a Navy Admiral. He's a weapons specialist, so if you want to fight him be prepared to have your characters dealing with his seemingly endless supply of firearms, each one bigger than the last!
no subject
He had a false, waxed mustache with ostentatious curls to it at the end. Ace looked the part of a righteous jerk and he enjoyed every moment of it. Navy soldiers saluted to him, not speaking--as that would have earned them a hefty punishment. Rather, Ace strode down the pier, hoping he could at least pull off the disguise close enough to reach one of the bars. He looked stricken and irritated when a soldier stood in front of him, holding a parchment.]
Sir, Admiral, sir! You've been called to report to our area's leadership! They'll be expecting a report on the state of your ship!
[Thus, Ace began his act. He cleared his throat and then did his best imitation of an admiral. His index finger touched his upper lip and his mustache stuck to it. When he removed his hand to speak, the mustache came with it.]
Ararara. I don't feel like doing any of that. Do me a favor and tell him to get off his high horse and--[Imitating Ao Kiji, Ace managed to last a total of six seconds. The ruse had already fallen apart. Opening his mouth--Ace made a little noise of irritation and then began to put the mustache back on.]
...I can tell you're wearing a disguise now.

THE FOREST
Shepherd is like totally the best ship ever okay
Actually, no. There are no dirty dishes on the Shepherd, because Smoker runs a pretty clean ship, mind you. Even when he's not running it, just steering, and making damn sure that the tricky shoals don't tear her hull from hull to stern. Still, there's a reason he banked the ship way over here. He knew where he'd fortify his own marines, and that gave him a good guess as to where the rest of the mar-- navy would be.
And so their ship is safely tucked away for anyone needing an escape without utilizing the help of pirates, who, by the way, are far more likely to have dirty dishes, those slobs.

OPEN OCEAN
Leaving that position he moved towards the Nav. Even under these constraints he hoped to uphold the name of the Phantomhives, and extend all due courtesy that was associated with that household.
Below deck, weary travelers would find plenty of makeshift beds, and nourishment. Not as fancy as he would have liked but it would still be plenty for those escaping terrible conditions. It was possible that no one would make the journey, but he was ready all the same to receive his guests.
no subject
Too small in fact. It's too little. Not enough.
She had checked everything for the tenth time, making sure that things were as perfect and as comfortable as possible. Ciel had offered sanctuary, and if people accepted the offer they would be welcomed to the Phantomhive's hospitality, as much of it as they could provide, at least. As Ciel's fiancé it was her duty to make sure that things would be that way. But she wasn't just his fiancé, she wasn't a Phantomhive yet, but a Midford. And it was her Midford blood what eventually pushed her away from the makeshift beds and to the deck, towards the Nav where Ciel was.
She looked at the Nav for a moment in silence, attentive and thoughtful before she dared to speak; "Ciel... Do you think it would be possible for me to go there?" Fighting the Navy isn't something she wanted to do, on the contrary, she would prefer to avoid it. But it wasn't just the Navy there, there were innocents there. The villagers, the newcomers, innocent people who would need whatever help that could be given to them. There were others there to help them, of course, but as a Midford, shouldn't she go and offer some help as well? Could she really trust those strangers to do what was right? Or should she just turn her back and ignore it all, close her ears and her eyes and be the mindless cute fiancé she tried to appear to be? Maybe busy herself with decorating the ship cutely for any possible arrival.
