PIRATES vs. NAVY BATTLE LOG

December 9th finds some new arrivals to this world, the same curious phenomenon that's been occurring for the past few months.

This time, however, the Navy is prepared -- or so they think.

They've got troops stationed around the island, and ships on the water to stop any arrogant, foolhardy pirates and would-be sailors from trying to make port.

So hit them with all you've got, but they're not going down easily...

[Tagging along with Ace, wearing his own much less important Navy uniform. He's standing at east just to the side and behind Ace, arms crossed behind his back and looking straight ahead -- mostly so he can attempt to keep a straight face while Ace botches up his disguise in record setting speeds.

The second he yells ATTACK! though, Riku just barely keeps from falling over anime style because really?

And then they're under fire almost immediately, which means the Keyblade is coming out.]

That was your plan??! Couldn't you have lasted longer than thirty seconds?!

[hiken]

That wasn't my fault! Hold on, fight them for a bit so I can fix my mustache! [Ace said this, ignoring a sword as it slid through his torso. Flames bathed the wound, showing he hadn't been injured at all. Still, he tried his best to try and smooth over the mustache and nail the look.]

.....Fix your—

[Trips and stumbles over nothing, before whipping around to boggle at Ace for a moment. It's a quick moment, because he has to fend off an attack two seconds later, and then he jumps forward to swing at the guy who was pointlessly trying to cut Ace in half.]

You're unbelievable, you know that?

[hiken]

Come on, it's a really cool mustache! [Not that he could really offer Riku an apology. The guy seemed to be handling himself really well. If anything, the fact that Riku could fight in close quarters like that was why he appreciated him being on the dock attack team with him.]

Anyway, is there a tavern by the shipyards? I don't remember my way around here.

[darknessinside]

[Pushes one guy back, then just throws his Keyblade across the dock at another. He glances back at Ace while he's waiting for it to boomerang back to him.]

It's alright, I guess.

[Catches the Keyblade and clocks a final Navy soldier on the head with it, before swinging it up onto his shoulder. His free hand he props on his hip.]

By the shipyards? I don't think so, but...maybe? There are definitely some around the inn.

[hiken]

Tcch. Alright, better get to lookin'. [Ace squared his eyes towards the platforms beyond the pier, beginning to focus.]

Riku, stay awake.

[It was a question that would have been odd in most cases. When it came to Ace, there were a dozen more reasons why he felt he needed to bring Riku along, but precisely one reason why he had to say that one thing. In a way, he didn't need to ask.

It was just courtesy, since he couldn't quite control what he would do next. Breathing in, Ace shut his eyes and then the air went stagnant--a gust of wind pushing from his body and sweeping through the pier. That 'pulse' from his body struck in all directions for over two hundred yards. It attacked the willpower of everyone around him, unforgiving in who it assailed. Only combatants strong enough to stand up to him would stay conscious.

Which was proven as soldiers began collapsing, one by one.]

'Cause, now I'm gettin' serious.

[darknessinside]

[Wasn't sure quite what to expect just then, but he braced himself against that 'pulse', feeling the wind push right past him, and by the time he looked up again there were bodies collapsing to the ground all over the place.]

Whoa...

[Okay, now that 'stay awake' comment made more sense. Ace seemed to step up his game with every new fight they came across. It was really impressive.]

...You could've opened with that.

[hiken]

This is a special occasion. I gotta know if it's safe to use it.

[Even if Riku wasn't affected that much, it wouldn't be good if he used it over and over around his crew--not without making sure he found out a way to direct it. He knew pops never used it because of his health, so he always figured it was a good reason to avoid getting used to flashing it around. Ace wasn't sure what it took away from him and if that pressure could hurt his friends if he used it a lot.

But, at the moment, it kept his friends from getting hurt immediately.]

I don't wanna rely on it, but now that I know how many there are, we've gotta be even more serious.

[darknessinside]

[Nods, looking around at who's left.]

So these guys are going to be more of a challenge?

[Takes the Keyblade off his shoulder, swinging it around once before holding it in front of him as he slides into a defensive stance.]

[hiken]

The ones that're still standing, yeah. Anyone who can stand after something like that needs your full attention.

[Even then, Ace himself was disturbed. There were ten times more men still standing and ready to fight than he thought there would be.

Either he got weaker or the Navy was getting stronger.]

Still gotta clear the pier, though. If we can keep it intact, we win.

Clear the pier. Got it.

[He's pretty confident. Unless these guys start opening Corridors of Darkness or throwing lightning at him, he's pretty sure he's faced worse. Still, best not to cross the line from confident to overconfident and wind up in trouble somehow.]

I'll take the right side.

[hiken]

Oh, you wanna split 'em in half?

[Ace grinned, feeding Riku a familiar grin. It was the one he set on his face right before he started blowing things apart.]

Are you tryin' to kiss up to your captain, Riku? [Ace reached down, picking up an axe out of an unconscious soldier's hands.]

[Shoots him a grin right back.]

Just can't let you have all the fun, is all.
