PIRATES vs. NAVY BATTLE LOG
December 9th finds some new arrivals to this world, the same curious phenomenon that's been occurring for the past few months.
This time, however, the Navy is prepared -- or so they think.
They've got troops stationed around the island, and ships on the water to stop any arrogant, foolhardy pirates and would-be sailors from trying to make port.
So hit them with all you've got, but they're not going down easily...

We gotta find the shard things I think! Then we can go home probably.
[ah crap this one has a sword. Luffy jumps back from it, and again, he's leaving little openings and Luffy's trying to figure out which way to go so he won't get cut up, bending over backwards to avoid getting his face sliced open]

[With things under control on her end, she's freed up to help this guy out a bit. She's not sure she can get a hit in with her sword without injuring her only ally, so instead she just punches his assailant right in the face.]

Ahh I don't know. I think there's supposed to be a lot of them and we've only found one. We might be here a long time.

There's nowhere to hide so-- [a guy with a flail attacks them. Luffy dodges and then jumps to kick him in the face sending him crashing to the ground] --you're just going to have to find a crew and go!

Oh, sure, no problem-- HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO DO THAT?! I don't know anything about sailing and all I'm doing here is just running around and being shot at! Now I'm supposed to find a pirate crew?
[The next guy who gets near her gets punched in the face just on principle.]

These guys are really annoying.

[Another patrol (obviously not aware of what they're getting themselves into) descends upon them with cries of "Surrender, pirates!" Kai's had about enough of this nonsense. She swings the whip-blade out, piercing an officer near the edge of the group, then she yanks the handle and swings him into the rest of the group, knocking them down like bowling pins.]
How many more of them are there?! I'm getting all sweaty!

[around them is a mass of people beaten up and worse but there's still more in the distance]
Probably a lot. [he glances at her] Want to take a break?
[and get something to eat somewhere because he's hungry.]

A break? You mean just stop? Before the fight's over? They're not gonna let us just walk away. And what about all that stuff you said about finding a crew?

[Looking at that blank look...that seems possible.]

This is so annoying.... [pout pout. He wants to fight these guys to help people but he's also hungry and she won't find a crew til they're all gone but cuz of Smokey he won't hit them as hard as he would have but he's really hungry--
But if all she wants to do is join a crew then--

{She punches the air and grins. She doesn't get that as a compliment much and she's forgotten what it sounds like. She's so much more used to a certain ninja's snide remarks about "Princess Powerful" and "terror to bears everywhere" and so on.]
So you're a pirate or something?
[She follows him, figuring he must know where he's going.]

But the navy thinks everyone is a pirate whose from a different place so you're a pirate too.

That's stupid. I don't even begin to look like a pirate!
[Not that she's ever seen a pirate, but she just assumes. She's a fine lady of good breeding, after all.
Does she look like a pirate? She's going to need a mirror to check her makeup and her hair.]
I don't know how anyone could mistake such a lovely young maiden for a pirate. That's just rude of them.

Anyway they're not mistaking anything. They're making you a pirate. [he doesn't like that at all but... A group appears in front of them. A mix of rifles and swords.]
