PIRATES vs. NAVY BATTLE LOG

December 9th finds some new arrivals to this world, the same curious phenomenon that's been occurring for the past few months.

This time, however, the Navy is prepared -- or so they think.

They've got troops stationed around the island, and ships on the water to stop any arrogant, foolhardy pirates and would-be sailors from trying to make port.

So hit them with all you've got, but they're not going down easily...

The assassin was sent reeling as the battle ax was twirled over the large soldier's head, fully intending to finish that brash man now that he was off balance.

Again, it was briefly considered that this could all be ended now and he would not even have to lift a finger to see his enemy killed but...

The room suddenly filled with a dense smoke. A bomb dropped into the room belched out its payload making it impossible to see... unless of course one had a certain skill that make it possible to see the outlines of enemies and allies even through the distraction. The guard did not have this advantage though and his swing went too high, just missing the assassin's head, though likely he still felt the breeze the passing blade would have created.

There was a muffled cry as the Templar's blade sunk deep into the soldier's back, propelled by the momentum of leaping down from the rafters, but he never saw it coming and had no chance to react.

The smoke bomb did not last for too long before it dissipated. Those were really only good for a distraction after all. Haytham looked to the assassin then and could not resist the smirk that came to his lips.

"I believe that is the second time I've saved your life."

You are welcome. Now! Back to business!

"We might be able to slip these people out of this old mill but getting them past the watch tower will be the most difficult part. We'll have to see to the man on watch first."

He hit the ground hard, there wasn't any time to assess the damage before the axe wielder was bearing down on him. Just when it looked like he'd be vulnerable to the swing of that massive weapon, a dense smoke blanketed everything.

Choking a bit on the initial intake, Ratonhnhaké:ton tried to use it to his advantage. The whoosh of the axe was too close for comfort, and soon as he was certain it was no longer lingering overhead he moved to the other side of the room.

After all that, he was faced with the smug expression on his father's face. In his haste to wipe it off before, Ratonhnhaké:ton was making some critical errors.

"...................."

Yeah, don't hold your breath waiting for a thank you. At least this time he didn't bombard you with a flurry of accusations.

"We can not risk being spotted now." .. But how can I convince you that I've got this? Especially now. Clearly, the answer is to take up into those rafters you alerted me to when you hopped down, without saying another word. Working his way across the rafters, it's not long before he finds the roof. From there, it's a short flight to the watch tower, and a quick end for the look out.

Presumably the assassin was seeing to the man in the watch tower. Right then, he would organize the escape. Haytham saw that everyone who was bound in any way was freed and made sure they understood they were to remain in here out of sight until instructed otherwise.

It was something of a surprise to see that fellow at the top of the watch tower when he peered outside but that did mean the prisoners could be set free. There would be no mass hanging today. As they had been instructed the prisoners left through the back door and made for the woods. There were very few patrols there, finding their way safely back to town would be as simple as following the path.

The just left that fellow... Haytham nodded at the tower before making his way to the woods as well. Talkthe assassin had said, but he would see if that was what had been meant.

From his vantage point, he was able to see the whole of the complex. Watching the prisoners escape, he moved to the far side of the tower, and took a leap into a nearby haystack. Sure he could have just flown back, but it had been just as convenient to make that plunge. Getting back to the street, he took a roundabout way to get to the forest in the hopes that he would bot be followed.

Even if it was useless, if his father was unable to change his ways... Ratonhnhaké:ton wanted to discover what sort of life he'd been living in this alternate set of memories. Why he didn't know about his son.

Haytham waited for the assassin back in town where they had first met. It was much more quiet in this section of town now than it had been. The soldiers had moved on to other areas and those who had been labeled as pirates were now in hiding. They would not be disturbed here.
