PIRATES vs. NAVY BATTLE LOG

December 9th finds some new arrivals to this world, the same curious phenomenon that's been occurring for the past few months.
This time, however, the Navy is prepared -- or so they think.
They've got troops stationed around the island, and ships on the water to stop any arrogant, foolhardy pirates and would-be sailors from trying to make port.
So hit them with all you've got, but they're not going down easily...

I told ya! Should've listened to me when ya had the chance.
[Fortunately the soldiers on the rooftops were also taken off guard by Sintaro's attack, and this leaves the duo's escape route completely clear as Explotaro bounds down the street and takes a sharp turn down an alleyway]
[As for the Sunflora. . . well, she had released her Flash attack mid-air and, once finished, had dropped right into Ragna's lap. CONGRATULATIONS RAGNA, you have a sunflower]
no subject
Then he can proceed to tear this brat's legs outta his ass.
Once the odd plant... something lands in his lap, the Grim Reaper just makes a face and lets it stay there for now. It freaks him out a bit, sure, having a sunflower with a HUGE GRIN on its face (do sunflowers even have faces?) this close to him, but he'd... rather not touch it. For. Safety reasons.]
... Do you even know where the heck you're going?
[He asks because he's pretty sure they're going in the direction where he came from in the first place, which would mean running straight into the bunch of officers he spent so much time on getting away from.]
no subject
Not a clue!
[Gold replies way too bluntly. The alleyway is empty, but it's very possible they're going straight back to where Ragna was earlier]
As long as it's away from those guys, it doesn't matter.
[Sintaro the Sunflora continues to smile up at Ragna. She's trying to be friendly :c!]
no subject
Of course he doesn't. Par for the freakin' course. Just how stupid can this guy be? Are they paying him to get them both killed or is that a hobby? Ragna lets out an annoyed groan in response.]
Listen, dumbass, what's the effing point in going to where there's even more of 'em?
[He makes a short pause, trying to remember the layout of the city from his previous stay here, as well as figure out some remotely safe, deserted place where they could stay until things calm down a bit. Wasn't there one like that somewhere...?]
Turn left.
[He's not actually sure if this will work, but hell, anything's better than going in circles. If all else fails, he'll just revert to the good, old ass-kicking.]
... And do something about this flower thing, it's creeping me out!
[It's a plant. A plant is STARING at him. With its eyes closed. If this isn't shit straight out of a horror movie, then he doesn't know what is.]
no subject
Turn left here.
[The Pokemon obliges, and this turn isn't nearly as sharp as the one earlier. To be honest, Gold wasn't exactly eager to listen to orders either. . . but it did sound like this guy knew more about the layout of this town than he did. And well. . . like it or not, for now, they were in this together]
Say nice things about Sintaro or else I'm gonna leave her out to keep you company. Is this town always over run with trigger happy officers?
no subject
Ragna snorts at his demand, replying to it in the most sarcastic tone he could manage.]
I'm absolutely charmed it hasn't tried to bite my hand off yet.
[Granted, he technically no longer has any hands to be bitten off, but details. That's totally what Gold wanted to hear, right?]
And no, it's not. Or it wasn't the last time I was here, anyway.
[Because hell if he can say more than that. It's not like he knows the place really well.]
... You're new.
[This isn't really a question; given how the kid seems to have no clue what's going on or where he is, it's kind of obvious already.]
no subject
[He fiddles with his belt a bit more and recalls the Sunflora to her pokeball in a beam of red light. With no enemies in sight, Explotaro slows down to a fast trot, waiting for more instructions from Ragna on where they should be heading]
New to this town, anyway. What's it called? And where is it in relation to Goldenrod City?
no subject
[... So the flower just up and disappeared? What is that supposed to be, some kinda Summoning Ars? He knows he's shit at ars compared to most its users, but he's never seen anything like that. There again, he remembers the kid is obviously from a different world, so maybe that isn't it.]
Isla Empieza. [Ragna has no clue what "Goldenrod City" is, nor does he give a damn-- and he doesn't seem willing to waste his breath on explaining to Gold how he's in a different world and all that crap. Instead, he points to a small, dark alley on the right ahead of them.] Go there and stop this... thing.
no subject
[Which only gives him minimal concern for now. Random teleportation to new locations wasn't unheard of, and there were plenty of regions back home he hadn't visited yet]
So we're headin' this way? I hope you're takin' us somewhere useful.
[That question is the more pressing matter, and he pats Explotaro's shoulders gently to steer him down the alley]
no subject
Once the creature stops in the alley, the man jumps off, feeling much better now that he can feel steady ground under his feet. Still, he shoots Gold an angry glare.]
Look, brat, we're knee-deep in this shit because you keep acting some goddamn show-off. If you wanna get to safety in one piece, we're doing this my way now.
[Without further ado, he turns away from him and reaches out with his right arm, chanting some barely audible words with his eyes closed. The moment he's done, a circle of bright, silverish blue light with symbols Gold's probably never seen before appears in front of him.]
What are you waiting for? Hop through. And your pet too, if you wanna drag it along.
no subject
[This guy sure was cranky]
What's with the fancy light show? Where d'you wanna take us?
no subject
So yes, he reserves the right to be cranky.
Ragna rolls his eyes impatiently, his pride being the only thing stopping him from stomping his foot like a little kid.]
Were you even listening? Safety.
[Well. He hopes that's what it is. He vaguely recalls Brig being run by some chick who's buddies with the weather mutt, and she seemed... "trustworthy" isn't the word he'd use, not ever, but he supposes she wouldn't wish them death. Which is an improvement over the guys chasing them already.]
... I think.
no subject
[But he could hear more yells in the distance, and he didn't want to get caught unaware by another band of soldiers]
I'm blamin' you if this backfires! C'mon, Explotaro, let's go.
[And with that, through the circle the duo goes]
no subject
Ragna follows the kid, unfazed by the apparent lack of effect, as if that was exactly what he was expecting to happen. Once he's through, the circle disappears into thin air, and the man walks farther into the alley, not bothering to look behind him.]
Follow me.
no subject
What'd you do?
[The trainer asks as he falls into step behind Ragna, Explotaro lumbering tall behind him]
no subject
[He says that like it's the most obvious thing on the planet. Though considering the kid apparently comes from some weirdo world where they have grinning sunflowers and think that's okay, Ragna decides to be kind enough to elaborate.]
They won't notice us unless we literally walk straight into them.
["We". The word sounds kind of strange to him, especially when it's coming from his own mouth. He's not really used to this cooperation bullshit, but hell, no time to mull it over right now.
The man stops for a moment, glaring at Gold over his shoulder.]
... Doesn't mean you should try.
[Given what he's seen of the brat so far, he wouldn't put it past him.]
no subject
[well it was true]
no subject
Ars magus.
[He stresses every syllable, clearly annoyed with Gold's ignorance of such basic matters. Never mind he probably has no way of knowing about those things.]
Now get your ass in the gear or I'm gonna kick it, got it?
no subject
[Yes Gold because talking back to the angry guy with magic is a good idea]
no subject
Which he proves right now by drawing the giant slab of metal he calls a sword from his back and turning around swiftly, pointing at Gold with the blade.]
Look, brat. I'm helping you out since I'm feeling generous today, but if you don't shut your piehole and act like a good boy, I might as well skewer you here and now and be fucking done with it. Is that clear?
no subject
[. . . the object Gold's using to deflect the sword is a pool cue. don't. don't ask]
Look, pal, whether you like it or not, we're in this together. At least for now. I don't wanna get caught, and you don't wanna get caught, and fightin' seems pretty counter to that goal. Let's just get goin', okay?
no subject
Ragna remains silent for a moment, still glaring down at Gold but not moving an inch. The whole "we're in this together" bullshit is annoying as fuck, not to mention completely false-- if he wanted, he could ditch the kid at this very moment and not lose any sleep over it. What's to stop him from doing just that?
... the fact he's too goddamn soft, that's what.
The man pulls his sword back with an angry huff.]
... Keep moving or I'm leaving you behind.
[And just like that, he continues walking like nothing happened.]
