PIRATES vs. NAVY BATTLE LOG

December 9th finds some new arrivals to this world, the same curious phenomenon that's been occurring for the past few months.

This time, however, the Navy is prepared -- or so they think.

They've got troops stationed around the island, and ships on the water to stop any arrogant, foolhardy pirates and would-be sailors from trying to make port.

So hit them with all you've got, but they're not going down easily...

Her eyes remain trained on the Nav as Ciel speaks. He is very delicate in his refusal, reasonable and logical. Mature. Just like he's always trying to be, and he's right. She could argue back, of course, she could make a case for her wish, but is it worth it? What would be the best for Ciel? Not for her and her personal pride and feelings, but for him, for his health, for his strength... He is right, and she knows it, she also knows how much he cares about her safety, and it warms her inside to see that he still does. Now, when he knows about her talent and strength, when he knows that she could keep herself safe, he still wants to protect her and keep her close. Even when she can't wear beautiful dresses adequate for her status, when she can't do her hair like she always did back home, he still worries and treats her the same way. And it's as frustrating as relieving.

"You are right, Ciel;" her body refuses to move for another moment, her gaze still trapped by the object before she can finally pull herself away from it. She turns her attention to him, a bright smile in place, happy and cheerful even if inside she is offering a much sadder and tense smile, but it doesn't matter. It never matters how she feels inside, or at least it's not a priority. Things are already bad enough on their own, but it doesn't mean she's going to give up on being the cute and lovely fiancée for Ciel. "It is really a stupid idea! I'm sorry, the whole situation is getting to me more than it should."

He was anxious to hear her response, unsure of where this line of conversation may lead. Despite all his worries, he was careful not to wear said concern too heavily on his features. The last thing he'd ever wish to appear is weak, whether it was at home or abroad as they were now. As it happened, he didn't have too long to wait before she replied.

What a relief it was to hear her listening to reason, even if he knew it pained her to do so. The smile wasn't enough to hide her disappointment. Internally he hated to be the one to cause her such consternation, it seemed like no matter how much he tried to shield her from the harshness of reality that he was only serving to trouble her further. It's as if his plans were always backfiring on that point. Her feelings mattered to him very much- but that did not change the severity of this situation nor the dire consequences that could go along with it.

"Lizzie..." He voiced almost with a somber edge to it."I would not have called it a "stupid idea"..." At least not to your face. ".. but it was a risky idea. Perhaps, when we are better equipped to handle these sort of instances in the future we can take on a more active role. As a crew... ".
