Hey, this is your birthday party. Don't go making yourself sad again, you hear? You want the parrot back?
[He's got to start watching his mouth when it comes to this whole issue. They've fought about it before, but with Roxas' memory, there's no guarantee that he remembers the whole conversation. Even if he does, Lea's not sure he really made his point back then.]

[He frowns a little bit.]
I made you mad, but I didn't mean to.

[He bonks Roxas on the head with the parrot. Before coming here, they hadn't really been able to spend together like this. There was always the time they set aside after missions, but they never really had a chance to go do things together, get in petty arguments, get mad at each other over silly, trivial things. No wonder Roxas thinks it's the end of the world every time something ticks Lea off.]

Kay well you better. I can't ruffle your hair and fix it, you're too tall.
no subject
Go for it.
[It's only fair, after all. He does do it to Roxas all the time, after all.]
no subject
Now you should feel better.
[Obviously, because it works for him.]
no subject
Sure. Worked like a charm.
[This kid. Really. He drapes an arm over Roxas' shoulders and hugs him to his side.]
C'mon, aren't we supposed to be celebrating your birthday?
no subject
Yep! It's my birthday and that means we need cake!
no subject
[Really, he's surprised she didn't demand they get to that part right away.]

[He's really going to have to find something later.]
no subject
[Well since he has nothing better to do, he can just squeeze Lea again.]
You know a lot about birthdays!

[Sometimes the unbridled adoration leaves him a little flustered. He can explain the most mundane things and Roxas looks at him like he's the most brilliant person in the world. Since coming here, he's tried to deflect it a little and get Roxas to ask other people his questions, and he wonders if he gives them that same awed look. If he does, Lea doesn't really want to see it happen.]
So why haven't you opened the other presents?
no subject
[While he's impressed by others, it's only Lea he really cares for like that. After all he's his best friend and has been there for him forever.]
I don't know.
no subject
[He's already told Thatch more than he even wants Roxas to know about him. Sure, he's not positive that he can trust him, but he has the feeling that they're all in good hands.]
But you can tell me about all that later. That's not party talk.

[He trails off for a moment and looks away sheepishly.]
I'm having fun.
no subject
Good for you.You should.
[And he'll do anything to make sure that he gets the chance. No one deserves it more than Roxas does. They may not have much time, but he's going to make sure that Roxas lives as much as he can, makes all the friends he can, does everything he wants. Because he knows what Roxas is going to go back to.
And what he has to go back to. Roxas had even said it, that name that sends a painful stab through his heart every time he hears it.]
We're lucky we have nicer people to boss us around here, huh?
no subject
Yeah, I think so. Hey, Lea, is this what summer vacation is really like? How long have we been here? It's been longer than a week. I didn't notice.
no subject
[But when all you have for reference is monotonous missions day in and day out, life on a pirate ship is kind of like a vacation.]

[Having Roxas around would mean they wouldn't be able to talk about spy work. He doesn't mind Roxas knowing that he's keeping tabs on the journals for Thatch, but he doesn't want him to know how he came about getting that assignment.
Lea smacks Roxas on the shoulder.]
No more talk about work.
no subject
You always say stuff like that!
no subject
[He always distracted Roxas with food before, too.]
