Warnings: None yet; will be added as they occur.

The docks are usually loud and busy, but today, one ship sticks out as being particularly energetic. Those on the Antoinette are preparing a surprise for one of their crew, and they are not being quiet about it in the least. Instructions are shouted from one end of the deck to the other about decoration placement; some unlucky passers-by may wind up with rejected decorations on their heads, as anything deemed 'not good enough' will be carelessly tossed over the side of the ship.

A steady stream of food is being delivered to the Antoinette, and placed on top of a series of makeshift tables decorated with over a dozen drawings of happy tanukis, each enjoying a different meal, and each with a party hat on. Anyone who comes onto this ship and tries to eat something without permission will be swiftly descended upon by a member of the crew - this food is not to be enjoyed until the birthday girl returns.

Games have been planned; some more carefully than others. They've not managed to find a decent musician around yet, so unfortunately this party is sadly lacking in the music department - anyone with an instrument and talent would be welcomed.

All entrances to other parts of the ship have been roped off, and any attempt to explore beyond the deck will result in Trouble.

…is this…for me? [She hugs the bag of food to her chest, looking suddenly unsure.] Is it someone else's birthday today?

[Is this a huge coincidence? It must be.]

[Gracefully, the white prince waltzed closer to Haruhi, with his usual flair as he takes the bag of food from her hands.

He chuckles lightly at Haruhi's apparent innocence. He twirls around to point at the many preparations they did for her.]

This, all of this, we did it for you~! It's your birthday after all~!

[Her cheeks color helplessly and she ends up scowling at the decorations. She can't help being embarrassed and, unfortunately, this is how she expresses that feeling.]

I didn't think it was such a big deal. Do you celebrate everyone's birthday like this?

[Suddenly a red rose stem is pushed forward to Haruhi. Another charming smile.]

But it's your birthday~!!! And you deserve only the best~!!

[She blinks and stares, reaching out to take the rose carefully.]

It's pretty.

[Holding the rose to her chest, she clears her throat.]

[OH NO YOU DON'T, TONO. The cheek rubbing is almost like a summoning spell, and Hikaru appears in an instant with the intention of interrupting Tamaki's spinning by twirling Haruhi away.]

Ha~ru~hi~! [His voice is sing-song, and if he's successful in getting her away from Tamaki, he'll deliberately continue to twirl her just out of Tamaki's reach, before turning smoothly into a quick waltz to music that may or may not actually even exist. Otherwise, he'll just flop onto the two of them and expect them to hold his weight.] Do you like it?

[He means the ship. And the party. She'd better like it; he had to put up with people you wouldn't believe existed to get his part done.

He's not intending on interrupting for long, since he's got people to mingle with and things he needs to finish.]

[And then his precious daughter was stolen with Link playing Blue Danube that Tamaki had taught him earlier.]

[Some music eventually came, courtesy of a small boy with an Ocarina who wasn't as mobile as he had hoped to be. The lack of music at such a big gathering had prompted him to pull out his instrument and start playing whatever songs he had already learned from his songbook. The variety wasn't great, but it was upbeat, enthusiastic, and skillfully played.]

[Oh Link you brilliant little child. Hikaru is drawn to the music immediately, curious as to who showed up that actually has talent. He's surprised to see Link's the one playing, but then he supposes he really should just start expecting this kid to be able to do anything.

He'll cheer when the current song is over - no shame, this one - and make his way over to Link for a quick chat.]

Hello Mister Hikaru! I know eight songs! But I can't play one of them because it's a sad song.

You mean like a waltz? [They're usually pretty sad, in that they're boring. He crouches down a bit so that Link doesn't have to look up so high, peering at the instrument.] What is that, anyway?

[He shook his head, but held the clay ocarina out for Hikaru to look at.]

No, it's a dirge. It's for when people die. This is my ocarina. Saria gave it to me when I left the forest.

Ah. Yeah, Haruhi might not be too happy if we turn the party into a funeral. [He chooses odd times to be concerned over what Haruhi would and wouldn't want at a birthday celebration. He reaches out to poke the ocarina when Link holds it up. He's heard of them, but since he's never had a real interest in music, he's never actually seen one before. It looks ridiculous.] It looks like a stumpy flute!

[He gave a little laugh.]

Do you know any songs you can teach me? I can play them for you if you teach me them.

[He waves a hand in front of himself in denial.] Nah, we're not the music types. Tono is, though!

[He turns around to scan the deck, looking for any sign of the tall blond.] He probably knows a bunch of songs you can play on that.

[Almost instantly, as if the mere use of the word Tono was a means of summoning the blonde, Tamaki emerges from behind the two.]
