Who: The Spade Pirates Where: Serenes When: April 10th-13th What:chillin' out maxin relaxin all cool Gathering supplies Warnings: Nothing more than the usual Status: Open
Day 1 [Chandra decidedly does not find Serenes all that serene. The Holy/Order aura that the place gives off is literally a wellspring of White mana, the one color she really, really wants nothing to do with. So, for the whole first day...Chandra's sitting on the deck of the Sun, either tanning or meditating or doing anything but going ashore.]
Day 2 [Finally sick of just sitting around and doing nothing, Chandra will head on over to land, taking a few tentative steps as she does so. It...really isn't that bad, and while Red mana is weaker here than White, it's still there, so that's a good thing at least. She'll begin poking around a bit, exploring and sticking her nose into stuff as usual...just without any magic.]
Day 3-4 [By the third day, and into the fourth, Chandra is...well, she's beginning to experiment with the weird flows of energy here as it's begun to seep into her by proximity whether she wants it or not. That means her magic has begun to shift subtly, and as such she's begun trying to experiment with the new spells.
Out on the beach, or in the forest, she's trying out some of them. Bolts of golden lightning whiz out over the water, or streams of silver flame turn sand into glass. She's even called up a fewnewelementals that are running around on the beach or through the woods.
Perhaps the strangest thing of all though, might be the young pyromancer herself. She's a good bit less hyper than usual, seemingly actually at peace for once. She doesn't ignore people, either, she sends her new elementals to help with loading, and happily goes out of her way to be useful instead of a layabout only interested in explosions for once...but she'll still flirt with anyone that doesn't run away.]
[A head tilt as he looks back and forth. He sort of understands her hesitation, something about it gives him the chills, but isn't that exciting? Doesn't that just beckon for adventure?]
White magic, the kind of energy this island has going for it, is used by law mages.
[She puts a hand on her hip and glares at the island.]
People that want to uphold peace, maintain order. Like the Navy, or the police. White magic has other...ways you can use it, but what it boils down to is all the same. Holy power, sacred power, the power of community, society, and order. Heiromancy.
[Ace was asleep on the deck only a few feet away from Chandra as she was getting a tan, absolutely unconcerned by the fact that he was getting his sleep cycle in while the sun was pouring down on him. Not only was he a fire man, but like Superman he recharged when the sun was out. It was just science.]
[He's not alone in that. The sun is a constant, steady source of proper mana, given it's heat, and she soaks it up. And normally she probably wouldn't bother Ace while he was napping, but...he's starting to snore. And that's making it hard for her to sleep too, so she rolls over onto her belly and pokes him.]
[Ace slowly stirred, not quite awake, yet. He rolled over onto his side and swung one arm, knocking a number of barrels loose of their ropes and into the hatches.
It could have gone worse.
And, it did. One barrel fell directly on Ace's throat, soliciting an angry choking noise from him as he woke up.]
Catchall for Chandra

[She eyes the island warily.]
Feels off, to me.

[A puzzled frown.] I don't suppose you know what it is then?
no subject
[She snorts, waving a hand.]
This place is a wellspring. And it's the wrong kind.
DAT ICON IS TERRIFYING
[It can't be too off, the way Leanne went racing for it like a bat out of hell, he figures.]

[She groans.]
Law magic...

Oi. Ace, you're snoring.

It could have gone worse.
And, it did. One barrel fell directly on Ace's throat, soliciting an angry choking noise from him as he woke up.]
Guh! Who the hell!?

She's only partly successful.]
Heh, you flailed into a barrel, silly. You okay?

Am I okay!? Do I look--

And another poke.]

Day 2
[At least it's not that bad for her now. Sort of.]
What's wrong?
no subject
[Ugh...still feel yucky.]
The ambient magic here is weird. Uncomfortably so.

I think I know what you mean, but I'm not sure how to make it better outside of suggesting you go back to the ship.
Maybe you'll get used to it if you stay here for a while.
