Masquerade Ball - Totally not an ambush

Who: Anyone going to the Corsair Island Masquerade Ball!
Where: ...IDK?
When: April 26th - 27th (Early AM)
What: The Masquerade Ball + Ambush (12am)

Status: Open to anyone attending!

There are going to be two main threads. One for the ball itself and the other for the Ambush! There will be an obligatory third thread for FASHION. Just remember to tag your muse in the subject header and OTA or 'Closed to ???' as you comment.

"Akira, why would you say these things? I've had nothing but glowing compliments all evening." But she grinned at him, only teasing and far from being annoyed.

"Someone has to keep you anchored, so your inflated ego doesn't pull you into the ceiling," he snorted, trying to focus his hearing, "This party would happen when the moon is just at a sliver. My hearing is a little dodgy, now. Hope you're havin' good luck."

Conchita will be wearing this mask and this gown with her wine glass hidden in her cleavage. :T

[Conchita's own interactions with those present are hardly pure. Oh, sure, she can easily play the happy socialite, discussing politics and the weather, but she is holding back salivating over so many deliciously warm bodies. So many to devour, so many to consume, the scent of so many delicious meals around her. Ah, she's tingling with anticipation and joy. Surely there's one or two she can pick off later on?

Ah, but for now, she's behaving herself, containing the urge to simply devour.]

Aya, you're definitely not hideous! *She smiles and closes the gap between them, taking up his arm in hers, but not knowing if kisses are allowed here, so refraining from that. For now* I pretty much just here, but I'm having more fun already with you here.

[Aya chuckles as he adjusts his arm for Selphie and leads them to an area where drinks are being served.] I don't think I'll be much more fun than the ball, though.

I don't know about that! Already this is my favourite - *She pauses as she's about to say mission, but realises that's a bad idea* - event. So long as you're sure to have time to dance with me before... well, before later.

Oh? [Aya wonders if she's been to others before this one. Smiling, he weaves them through the crowd, getting closer to the bar area.] It's good to know this ranks high for you.

[Ah, right. Dancing. He got enough lessons to be able to dance, but he was still stiff from time to time.Aya rubs the back of his neck in uncertainty.]

One dance wouldn't hurt... [Maybe.]

*Selphie just gives a giggle at that and uses her free hand to salute him the way she's learned the navy here do it. Then she takes two glasses of champagne from a passing waiter and hands one to him*

One? I think we could manage two! And it'll only hurt if you put your foot under my heels.

"Well, I appreciate the kindness you're doing me. "The moon can make you deaf? Or is your hearing just not as good as you like. And I'm having plenty of luck." She nodded towards the small pile of coins she has amassed.

"It's a werewolf thing. My level of ability waxes and wanes along with the lunar phase. In a day or two I'll be pretty much human."

"Aww, that's a pity. You'll have to be boring like the rest of us." She raised a brow towards his glass of wine, "But looks like you're making a good start. You'll be grabbing a girl to go dancing with next."

"You wish. The alcohol doesn't affect me right now. It would take a hell of a lot more than this, I wager. Even if I am somewhat diminished," he said, turning his head slightly to get a better bead on a distant conversation, "Man, these guys can blather on."

Faye motioned to her other side, where a collection of full glasses of champagne are lined up. "There's plenty of alcohol to keep you going if you're interested." She'd had a fair few drinks from admirers after all. "Mhm, they're rather chatty." Here she turned to give a Navy officer a small smile and waved back. "It'll be useful though, I hope."

By the work of witches and miracles, Ikki will be wearing this outfit with this mask. I say that this is the work of those because no one had to drag him around to get those, he just went and picked what he thought Saori would approve of for the occasion.

[He never would have thought that he would actually miss Saori, especially not as Saori and not just Athena, but it's undeniable that this would have been easier had she been there. After all this kind of thing was perfect for her and she had enough experience that he could just tail along while waiting for the part in which he was really interested. Then again, just one event isn't enough to compensate having to deal with her in this world, it would be too much of a pain. Except that it probably wouldn't and he knows it.

Ikki doesn't wander the place much, he spends some time at the lobby before moving to the ball room to play the role of a wallflower when he's not somehow roped into talking with someone. He's really not the socialite type, fortunately he's not the only one neither it's rare for someone who didn't really enjoy those events to be obligated to go due formalities, which is to what he sticks when asked.]

[Despite his attempts to be the most precious wallflower ever... Ikki will probably end having to dance a couple of times, he finds it to be a perfect excuse to back off from a group conversation when one of the wives or girlfriends or whatever they are want to dance, but their partner doesn't feel like it. A polite offering of temporary escorting her finds both the woman and the man pleased at the solution, and Ikki stuck dancing with a stranger, though he uses it to the best of his ability to gather some information. Many people underestimate how much a wife actually knows about her husband's work and how much some men talk when having fun with their woman.

However, those are rare occasions so for the most part he remains as a wallflower, doing his best to keep his Cosmo and temper in check. It grows harder as time passes and he feels the festivities to be dragging on rather than to pass quickly so the real "fun" gets started. He's free to be asked or nudged at to get him to ask for a dance, but he does not accept everyone who approaches him preferring at times to remain as a wallflower.]

[Due to circumstances, the ship's really more decked out for battle than a party. But there are strings of multi-colored lights, and Namur acquired a boombox during his visit to Deesuko Ballia and a good variety of music and styles which he is more than willing to let people peruse and pick their favorites. Sadly, the music won't be terribly loud. They do gotta try and keep a sort of low profile.]

[Zeff got on board with being volunteered though, so there's a fine array of delicious food set out on a table, including sushi and the highest quality pizza the turtles could ever dream of. There's alcohol and punch and water. Feel free to mingle!]

Bonnie will be at the ball wearing this mask and this dress.

[Namur likes to party, but he likes living, too. Every so often he hops over the rails to take a swim, patrolling the mouth of the inlet and getting an idea of what ships the Navy's keeping prepped for immediate departure. Maybe he'll bite a rudder or two, just for fun.]

[Bonnie generally enjoyed social gatherings like this. Every so often, she'd have to crash one of these balls to take down a vampire with a group of lower-ranking hunters, and it was always fun to see the reactions of all the people scattering when the bullets started flying. Tonight, she's a little subdued. With her trying to keep a low profile she was forced to leave her basket behind on the ship, concealing what little she could on her person. Annoying, but necessary.

One of the problems with having such a young face and a cute disposition as hers was the occasional Naval Officer stopping her to comment on who she was with. She always said that her guardian was away speaking to others, and with a curtsy, she skipped away. One in particular, happened to say after that that her mother should be proud of having such a cute and respectful daughter. With a false smile and one more curtsy, she walked away again. Muttering "jackass" under her breath.

She can be found wandering around the ball, listening in on conversations and drinking water. For the most part, she's attempting to blend in for info.]

Kodachi is wearing a asymmetrical jade gown with a ruched bodice and a chiffon flower at the shoulder. It's cinched around the waist and has a flowing skirt with a train.

Her hair is curled, swept to one side opposite the strap of her gown, and adorned with a single black rose.

Completing the ensemble is a matching Venetian mask.
