Masquerade Ball - Totally not an ambush

[Zeff got on board with being volunteered though, so there's a fine array of delicious food set out on a table, including sushi and the highest quality pizza the turtles could ever dream of. There's alcohol and punch and water. Feel free to mingle!]

[Alcohol, sushi and pizza sounds like the best combination. Guess who is getting into all of those? Guess who has maybe had a little bit too much of one of them?]

[...Well, hard to tell with Codi sometimes--the way she waves over random passerby to talk to them (no matter how awkward they might look at the time) is normal enough for her. Mostly she just looks happy to be allowed to loosen up a little bit.]

[Zeff is keeping an eye on the food and replenishing what gets gobbled up the fastest. He'll be moving back and forth from the galley to the tables and back again, making sure everyone's eaten to their hearts' content. Any leftovers are going to be served up at later meals.]

[It's getting late and Zeff has stopped his monitoring of the food since people are more likely to be focused on just drinking now. Now he's getting some booze for himself, sitting himself down on the edge of the party.]

[There's a sudden splash from the ocean, and a muted thump as a large body collides with the side of the ship. A moment later, Namur vaults over the rail, dripping seawater and running his hand over his hair. He dips his head to Zeff, grabs his own bottle of rum, then plonks down on the ground next to the grisly old cook. After he dumps some of the rum behind his teeth, he gestures to the rest of the party with the bottle.]

Damn right you couldn't. [Zeff holds out his own bottle of rum to clink it against Namur's.] I set aside some raw bits for you. Figured you wouldn't want all cooked stuff.

[Nami's staring at all the food that was prepared. She had to admit, most of it looked and smelled pretty nice. It was actually kind of difficult to pick out a good starting point!

The sushi looked pretty good. Not that she actually knew what it was called, or what the ingredients were.

Maybe someone should tell her first.]

[Namur is very clearly enjoying the sushi. It's a good thing there's never a shortage of fish on the Spades' ships. Probably most of what Zeff is making is more sushi in an effort to keep up with Namur acting suddenly voracious towards human food.]

This is the best damn stuff humans've ever done t' shitty li'l fish. Oughta try some.

[He offers his hand to Nami, a sushi roll sitting squarely in the middle of it.]

[Nami takes the sushi roll and examines it briefly. It looks and smells pretty good.]

It's made of other fish?

[Oddly enough, she doesn't seem as disturbed over the idea as one might think. Nami lived in the ocean and had often been surrounded by other fish, but she and her people also needed to eat.

In her mouth the sushi goes.]
