Masquerade Ball - Totally not an ambush

Who: Anyone going to the Corsair Island Masquerade Ball!

There are going to be two main threads. One for the ball itself and the other for the Ambush! There will be an obligatory third thread for FASHION. Just remember to tag your muse in the subject header and OTA or 'Closed to ???' as you comment.

[Around 12AM, the room gets a little more full as more and more people seem to crowd in. Woah, a lot of those people have guns and swords. Just before a Navy officer can yell for the attack to begin, Ace(The handsome captain of the Spades) jumps on a table and announces their crew can attack.

Whoops. Hey, everybody already knew there was obviously going to be an ambush.]

This is for escaping. Fortunately, the Navy ships will be thinned down thanks to concentrated attacks, but it'll still warrant some serious Benny Hill theme use.]

She'll be sporting this dress (~~the chest part is filled in with something, somehow~~) and wearing this gaudy mask all the while wearing her glasses beneath. She'd love to not wear them, buuuuuut she can't.Her hair will be completely tied up into a tight bun.

Faye was taking part in some spying, or rather, some very open information gathering. Her outfit for the evening is rather daringly low cut black evening gown. It's full length, but a long slit runs up the side to her thigh, which is perfect for crossing her legs at the table she was sitting at. It didn't take long before Faye was surrounded by eager Navy gentlemen. She smiled at them all in turn, and knew how to charm each enough that they all thought they were the special man she had her eye on. No such luck.

Faye discussed Navy plans with them, found out the places on the ship where treasure had been stashed, including jewellery she was offered. But while Faye discussed, she also had in her hands a pack of cards, a small pile of coins in front of her. Looked like a gambling game, but it was working in her favour. Anyone walking past might want to come and take a seat, either just to look at her, to talk to her, or, more usefully, to overhear all the information she is so easily conjuring from the Navy men.

Isn't this really what the ball is all about? Selphie lingered by the dancefloor in a lavendar ball gown, decorated with sparkles. Her entire back is bare, which was a bold move, but then, she wasn't planning on dressing up any half measures, so she chose a dress that flattered her figure as much as was possible without showing quite too much. Her hair was delicately held up, and she wore make up that she hoped wasn't too much, but was pretty, with a silver eye mask to match. There's a pretty silver bracelet on one of her wrists to cover up her spade tattoo. She held a drink in her hand, watching people dance, and waiting to see if anyone she had agreed to dance with would come by, including a certain someone in particular. So, if this Selphie looked like a lady at a dancefloor waiting for someone, that's because she kind of is.

[The ball is as extravagant as he expected. Dressed in a navy uniform, with his hair neatly in place underneath a cap and his sword at his side (luckily the uniform came with a belt for it), Aya walks through the crowd, engaging with other navy officers as they approached him. Grateful for the information about navy ranks, salutes, and other things, Aya doesn't feel hesitant at all while interacting with them.]

[Eventually, he does excuse himself, giving the reason of meeting his date. It's true enough, and a young man in the navy surely needs to socialize with the opposite gender more often.]

[Feel free to catch Aya as he makes his way back into the crowd.]

So Faye is looking like this with a bit of this, though she won't be holding her mask all night .

Selphie, meanwhile, will be wearing this but in a lavendar purple colour, with a sparkling silver mask over her eyes to match.

*Now that Selphie was all dressed up and actually at the ball, she was feeling a little nervous. Maybe that was weird, but she'd tried so hard to look good, not that she would let Aya know that. She had to find him, somewhere in the crowd. Maybe the navy are more polite sometimes that she thought, or maybe in her current outfit they were being generous and letting her past, but Selphie moved around with ease until - there. She spotted Aya, eventually, and bashfully made her way towards him, lifting a hand in a small wave in case he didn't see her*

Here we see the illusive Wolverine cleaned up and dashing! With the help of Commander Fancy Pants (aka: Thatch) he has cleaned up, shaved and got a hair cut. Why? Might as well do this shit right.

[Because Grell needs to make a fashionably late entrance. There is certainly a lot of guests there, which is good, in a way. It means the ball will be lively with so many personalities present. She does meander about, trying to see if she can spot a certain someone around. She knows he's here.]

[For Aya not to spot Selphie in his effort to actually find her would be remiss, and he does see her. His eyes widen at how amazing she looks and makes his way over to her, smiling all the way. When he finally reaches her, he stops about an arm's length away, simply staring.]

You look... [There are a lot of words he's thinking of, but only one could do justice.] Beautiful.

Someones been watching you, Faye. Just for a little bit Logan, dressed and cleaned up nice, cream whites, dark bluish black coat and gold trim, a matching mask. God, he even took to a shave and a hair cut, insisted upon by that tall idiot Thatch.

He's been wandering though, spying a bit himself, if you call it that. He'd ran into a woman who had her own small command of a few ships (it was ab it impressive) and a young man who'd already drank too much and was talking about the pretty girl he was talking to before. That was when he got view of her. A table of men around.

Heh. So he watched for a bit, spying. Slowly walking around the room and mingling (a bit bored) and... slowly came up to lean on the pillar behind her, watching her as she snows the group of them. Good to know what type of woman she really is, though he had his suspicions already.

After the last one left for what ever reason, he came to stand near her, taking a sip form a champagne flute, and glancing down at her (and that is impressive cleavage). "Enjoying yourself, miss?"

*Selphie too, is taking in just how handsome Aya looks in the crisp white uniform. She does, actually, feel not to dissimilar to some kind of day dream she might have had. Then she notices the way that Aya is smiling, how he looks at her, and she can feel her heart beating that little bit faster, blushing too. Excuse the rather adoring expression on her face*

Thank you, Aya. You look...gorgeous. I mean, handsome kind of gorgeous...

He's not exactly that cretin someone, now is he. But he does see her in her bright dress. There are others here dressed as brightly though, so it's not surprising. She does stand out however. Maybe standing out, however, works well in her case.

He'd come up beside her, a drink in his hand, almost half done. It was ridiculous how well he cleaned up, and where the hell did he get good enough manners for something like this? The man had many talents. And this good manner is only going to last a short while before he gets bored and wants to tear into things. He wants to see if Selphie recognizes anyone, because that'll be the first bastards he'll go for when the time comes. But he simple stands near by, as if he hadn't seen her, then offered a hand out to her.

"I think I owe you a dance."

Logan, cleaned up nice and neat thanks to a good man on the crew, was wandering the place. Slowly. You can find him in the Lobby for a while, chatting with some people about this and that and... moving on when he got bored. Which was easy to do here.

It was too stuffy, and this damn mask was a pain in the ass. But he moved about, keeping an eye out for several things. One? Crew mates. He tried to keep a sniff on them as best he could. Know where they were and what their positions were. If anyone got made, it'd be the end of it there. So he was making sure those that came were safe.

He was also on the look out for a couple of Navy Faces he wanted to revisit. Only with all the masks it was hard to tell. Still, he was looking.

You might find him in the ball room, on the sides, taking a drink once in a while, or flirting with a woman here or there. Come, bother him in the lobby or the ballroom.

I know. I mean, I understand. It's better than hideous. [He disliked wearing white, but if it suited his role for tonight, he can deal with it. Then hope he'll never have to do it again.] Enjoying yourself?

He's in a white navy uniform and wearing a white mask.

My god. He actually managed to match his mask to his outfit. Give him a hand.

Faye had been aware of someone watching from behind her but then, she had been surrounded most of the evening so far. Finally having a table to herself, she was drawing together a considerable pile of coins and slipping them into a small black pouch. She smirked as she turned to look up at Logan, "I am indeed. I've been kept good company, it makes me feel so popular."

"Nice dress," Akira said, looking like he was sipping casually from a glass of wine as he spoke to her, "Think you could have cut it any lower? You'd better hope you don't catch anything on some guy's cuff-link, or there's gonna' be a wardrobe issue. Hear anything useful?"
