Masquerade Ball - Totally not an ambush

Who: Anyone going to the Corsair Island Masquerade Ball!

When: April 26th - 27th (Early AM)
What: The Masquerade Ball + Ambush (12am)

Style: Action or prose.
Status: Open to anyone attending!

There are going to be two main threads. One for the ball itself and the other for the Ambush! There will be an obligatory third thread for FASHION. Just remember to tag your muse in the subject header and OTA or 'Closed to ???' as you comment.

"I came with someone, if that is what you mean, but I believe in fully enjoying the festivities and he is not one to dance all night. This will allow me to enjoy a variety of dance partners," replied the woman with a ship on her hat as she gently swayed in time to the music.

"Have you danced? I can direct you to some handsome and capable partners, if you'd like."

She shook her head slightly "Oh no that wouldn't be necessary, I mean I might be quite busy for most of the night." She said knowing full well that she has a cover to keep up and keeping busy might be part of that cover.

"But I can at least do what you are and sway a bit." She paused, she just couldn't help but stare at the hat. "That's a very interesting hat."

"Thank you! You are very kind to say so," the merry young woman responded. "I am quite pleased with my dressmaker. She arranged for it to be made to go with my dress." Elissa looked from Fuu to the dance floor where a multitude of couples were swirling about the floor in an airy waltz.

"Do you see the woman in green? She has lovely jewelry."

She looked off into the crowd, the woman in question was soon spotted. "Ah, I see who you mean. She certainly has a very lovely necklace. I can't make out anything else." She said with a smile "There are many others here that are wearing such nice things. I wonder how expensive they are?"

"Who truly knows in this w...economy?" replied Elissa with a laugh that hopefully made up for her close slip-up in wording. She truly didn't know their exact value in this world, but jewels were rarely lacking in value, especially if they were traded in the right place.

She puts a finger to her lips slightly, giving a small nod and a smile. "Ah, of course But one knows that in a place like this gaining money is the way to go. It helps us afford things later, especially when they start to get more and more expensive."

"But how much it is worth is not in my area of experience."

"In truth, tis not mine, either. I simply like admiring the colors and designs - much like I am enjoying seeing everyone's garments!" Elissa nibbled again from the little hors d'oeuvres upon her plate.

She figured admiring certainly was okay, not that she was use to doing such things here, but if it helps her blend in a little more she couldn't say she shouldn't do it in her mind. After all it meant conversation and that kept them continue what they wanted to.

"Like that one. Did you notice the pattern in her dress. The jewellery much of been made to match the design."

The woman in the ship hat lifted her head to study the outfit in question, a smile curving her mouth. "Oh, that's lovely. I had not noticed that detail yet. It makes me wonder if she arranged for it on her own or if the jewelry was a gift. If so, did she order the dress to go with the jewelry? It is such fun to imagine it."

"You'd never know unless one asks." She said putting whatever she had down and making her way over. Yep, she was going to talk to her, be polite and that way she gets the information she needed before returning.

"Apparently she got the dress after the jewellery for this exact event. It was actually quite interesting to listen to how it came about though."

"How clever of you to ask her! That was bold move," Elissa laughed. "I imagine it was far less expensive to have a dress crafted in imitation of the jewels than in reverse. What did she say?"

"Given the threads in her dress are made out of gold, it could be evenly matched." She said looking over once more. It really was a site to see never the less.

"Indeed," Elissa murmured with renewed interest in the woman. She watched her for a few more moments until she vanished to the other side of the room in the whirl of dancers.

"Did you get her name?" Because that might be a household that needs a late night visit in the future.

She nodded slightly, she had started to wonder why she wanted to know and not just go find them and talk to them herself.

"I do, but maybe you would like to talk to her as well."

Very suddenly, Elissa grinned. "She disappeared into the crowd, so I shall have to find her," was pointed out with a laugh. She offered placed the rest of her plate of tidbits upon a nearby table.

"It was nice to meet you. Enjoy the ball!"
