Faye stepped over to the bush when she heard Logan's growling voice threaten the other guy - she wanted a better look after all. And actually, it was rather exciting that Logan had gone to such lengths to get baboon mask away from her. So she stood beside Logan, biting her lip as she glanced between the two men, looking the uncertain lady, "I'm not sure..." Looking more pointedly at Logan, "Can we believe him?"

His hand seemed flinch up more, the skin under the back of his hand moving. Three claws moved, so very slowly out, like blades sliding slowly down. Light caught on them as they went full extension, the center blade just barely digging into the mans bulbous nose. "...I'm not convinced yet."
And then, if one had good hearing, they could hear it. A soft damp sound. Logan's nose twitched and he snorted a moment later, drawing back some. He moved to stand, looking.... amused and disgusted all at once. The man had a very large wet stain growing at the front of his pants.
"How did you even get invited to a party like this, pipsqueak." He said with a gruff tone, letting his claws disappear back into his hand. He didn't like picking on weak guys and this one was pretty damn weak. Damn, he wasn't even anyone he was looking for.
The guy tried crawling back away from the man, the woman and his puddle, stammering.

But then a small stream moved its way slowly towards Faye, and she opted not to hide her disgust this time as she tiptoed back slightly so it wouldn't come in contact with her shoes. Faye's attention was on Logan's hand again. She certainly wouldn't be dancing with the baboon guy now, whoever he was, disappearing away. Faye turned to face Logan, grabbed his wrist, and lifted his hand closer to her face to inspect. "There's not..even blood. How the hell did that happen?"
no subject
He shook his head, stepping back, only to actually be startled as Faye took hold of his hand for inspection. He raised his brows, wanting to pull back and away but... letting her look. "Trick of the light. Nothing more." He lied, badly, looking at her face as she looked over the hand. More then likely just scared her off now, huh Logan.

Once they've both sat down, she looked again at his hand, a finger running over his knuckles. "Are you genetically modified or something?" It wasn't unheard of, in her future time, of people going to lengths to make weapons of themselves.

He took a seat, leaning forward on one elbow to knee, while she took over his right hand. Glancing over at her he kept an eye on her reactions. "Something like that." was the simple answer he gave. It felt nice, he had to admit to himself, to have soft hands trail over his hand like that. He straightened his wrist, ad made sure her fingers were out of the way, before letting them blades slide out again. They could be seen moving under flesh until they stopped. Perfect, clean, sharp. There was blood, around where they came out, but it cleared up alsmot instantly. "Modification added to a mutation." He clarified.
She hadn't gotten up to run away yet. That was a plus.
no subject
"Added to a mutation?" Faye looked up at him for a moment, again like she's patiently trying to understand this. She'd been through her own scientific experiments after all.
no subject
A small humm of a yes though, at her mutation question. Generally he was silent about these things, but lately? Well, it didn't matter, did it? Here it made him better then others. Stronger in some ways. "Apparently I do this naturally. The military just decided to graft metal to my bones." All of them.

Faye frowned though when he answered her question, "Shit, are you serious?" It sounded amazing, actually, but she wasn't so sure the story behind it was. "What was this? Some kind of experiment? Did you ask for that? Is it... did it work out?" So many questions, but she seemed quite irrate of the possibility that someone would just have that done to them.

WHY he opened this can of worms, he didn't know. He sat up straighter, eyes glancing off out at the garden. The party could be heard in the background, in the distance. He could make excuse to go back to that. He needed to scope out a few more people after all. But, he shrugged a single shoulder. "I don't remember exactly." And he knows that sounds like he's trying to curb the question, so he adds, while glancing to her. "Memory issues. Nothing to worry about though. The military back home did shit like that."
no subject
"Memory issues. Right. They can be a bitch." Since she had them too. But she wondered as she looked at him what she could do to make sure that if he walked away now, that he wouldn't just think of her as some kind of boring nosey person. So she leaned in closer and reached up to press the smallest and chastest of kisses on his jaw. "All the same, thanks for looking out for me."
no subject
Her agreement with his memory issues sounded like she was humoring him though, and he considered explaining more, but he realized she was leaning in. A small chaste kiss hit his jaw and he couldn't help but be, and look, a bit surprised. He hadn't meant to look surprised, but he did. Head tilted a bit to look over at her. "Some one had to do it." And before he could consider how demeaning that might have sounded he added. "Not that I don't think you can't take care of yourself. Scaring that little twerp was kind of fun though." He said, a small smile on his lips. Logan doesn't blush. He's not a blusher, but... --damn she was hot.

"You look like a woman who could handle a baboon. But this is a high social event. Best that the lady not break her nails." It was a soft tease, even if she was back to teasing him about being a gent. He could be, sometimes.
And damn, that lowered eye blush was... eye catching. As much as he wanted to lean in and kiss her, he told himself it wasn't worth it, to him or mostly to her. He gave her a kind smile. "Speaking of social events. We should get you back to your table, hmm? There's more Navy snobs for you to fleece." As much as he would much rather stay here and... right. He definitely needed to not get attached.
no subject
Maybe he frustrated her a little, but it also really amused her, that Logan hadn't opted to lean in closer. "True. And I've heard there are some rather nice diamonds on board somewhere that I hope to get my hands on. All the same, it's a shame we'll both be so busy at the...after party."
Aka, Faye could have enjoyed herself much later in the evening with Logan, but there was fighting and blowing up and stabbing and shooting and looting to do. So, pulling her fur shawl around her shoulders, Faye stood herself up from the bench.
no subject
The frustrating part was that he might be acting this way on purpose, though not to frustrate HER but more because he has his own hang ups. Sorry Faye, there is shitty baggage with this one. “And how many of those diamonds do you plan to wear out of this place?” he asked, chuckling as she stood. He stood with her as well, offering a hand to the woman.
“It’s too bad. The after party sounds like it’s going to be a blast.” Literally a blast too, really. “Before the night ends, I should get you on the dance floor. You know, before I turn into a pumpkin or a beast man or something again.”
no subject
"Oh, it does. And I'm sure it really will be." Faye is hoping at least to get out unscathed with all the stealing she was planning on doing. Hopefully she wouldn't get her dress ruined, at least. "That sounds like a good idea to me - I wouldn't want to be dancing with a pumpkin, after all."
no subject
“Oh?” He raised a brow, highly amused. “Don’t want to dance with a pumpkin, but a beast man would be acceptable?” they should be moving. Heading back in, but he’s standing there with here in the calm of the garden, slightly out of sight and kind of wanting to ignore the fact that there is a battle going to happen in a hour or so. “Claws and all?” He might be gauging her reactions still. It was habit.
no subject
She'd thought that they'd stood to go back inside, but they weren't going anywhere. Not that she minded - she was only really looting while she was here, nothing too official to do, so whiling away with Logan was something she had time for. "A beast man might be acceptable, if he knew how to dance." Faye held his gaze for a moment, daringly. "Claws and all."
no subject
“He might not remember where he learned, but he does know how to dance.” Logan said and reached out for her hand, an attempt to pull her in for a dance out here and now. The music could still be heard, and though it was soft sounding, it was easy to dance to and still hear. “I’ll be sure to keep the claws in.”
no subject
She was quite surprised, though, when he pulled her in for a dance, out their on their own. Not that she had any problems with complying to this. She easily followed his lead and held herself comfortably in position, "I'd appreciate that. It would be a shame for you to rip my dress."
