"Recovery"
[ This island is known to hold treasure. Both from some hidden chest of gold to random trinkets left behind by ships that just didn't make it, and these people expect her to just stay in bed and not explore? TO HELL WITH THAT!
If anyone needs her, she'll be exploring the island and the ship wreckages that surround it. Looking at the little trinkets on the ground and surveying the area. But for her crew's peace of mind, she won't stray too far from everyone else. No matter how much she really wants to.]
5/25-5/31
[One more week till candy mountain. ONE MORE WEEK. That would also mean one more week till Gaius' diet ends and that's going to be something. As per usual, the champion isn't following Dr. Gaius or Dr. Leo's instructions to stay in bed. Instead she could either be found in the galley or on the deck reading book or studying maps. SOMEONE has to study up about this candy filled island after all.]
5/23? 24??
For some reason, Hiccup expected something like this to happen eventually. Due to growing up around rowdy Vikings, it was just that feeling he had.
Of course, said feeling kicks in later after he and Toothless finish flying about the island's perimeter. While taking a break, Hiccup only notices the familiar figure poking around the wreckage nearby after giving the dragon some well-earned pettings.]
...Really??
[He sighs, patting Toothless on the snout as he mutters under his breath, stepping back to turn and pick his way over to where the young woman is. And as soon as he gets close enough, he places his hands on his non-existent hips.]
Excuse me, but aren't you suppose to be resting?
no subject
((OOC: AKA feel free to skip me!))
no subject
This IS resting. See? I'm not climbing anything or doing any heavy lifting.
no subject
Uh huh. Normally, resting means staying in a bed – or anywhere indoors that doesn't look anything like an old, broken ship.
Lemme guess: you got bored.
no subject
And yes, I got bored. You know me so well.
no subject
[Still, he wanders to join her, giving a little lopsided smirk.]
All right, then. Despite not making any huge movements, have you found anything interesting?
no subject
[She pokes at a piece of broken vase with the tip of her boot.]
Nothing yet, but then I have yet to actually explore inside these ship wrecks.
no subject
[Just offering. He does look at what's left over, scrutinizing the wear and tear that's closest to them.]
If anything, this place is living up to its name...
no subject
[ She says as she starts scaling one of the ships ]
no subject
Well, since you're doing that, you're going to become a prime example.
no subject
[Which is followed by her taking a misstep there. Whoops. But don't worry, she's fine! And back to heading up this ship like nothing happened]
Maybe you should try your hand at climbing, Hiccup. You need the exercise.
no subject
[Never mind the fact he winces when she missteps. He just hopes she doesn't fall. He knows he can't catch her.]
no subject
[ She says as she finally reaches the deck of the wreckage. Mostly some junk on board, but definitely a good place to rummage for materials. ]
So are you just going to stand there or are you gonna help me out with this boat? Come on Hiccup, you wouldn't leave an injured girl alone up here, would you?
no subject
All right! I'll play accomplice for the injured, if that's the only way someone can keep an eye on you...
[What, role reversal of caretaker and child here? Nah. Just doing what he's use to doing. Thin hands grab hold of the sides, his metal foot digging into the crevices between warped boards as he pulls himself up to reach the same deck.]
Oof. [A short pause. He finally crawls up and onto his feet, glancing over at Cynthia.] Yeah, this sure is fun.
no subject
[She kicks aside a few broken pieces of pottery then helps her little friend up. The boat they were on had been cut in half. Some areas covered with fairly aged wood that seemed to fragile to step on, and some areas just had gaping holes rather than staircases. Hopefully she didn't have to explain to the boy they he needed to watch his step.]
Okay so, from past experiences, the best places to check would be containers and cabinets. If we find a safe, we toss it to the sand and deal with it later, and if this boat shifts even by an inch, we jump.
Any questions?
no subject
Aside from the inevitable jumping and the possible addition of new injuries, it sounds good.
no subject
[She takes a seat at the edge of the deck and begins releasing her pokemon from their pokeballs one by one. Watching as they appeared on the sand bed bellow them.]
You guys stand guard and make sure nothing happens to this ship, alright?
[As second in command, Garchomp nods in agreement and begins assigning positions for each pokemon. Cynthia on the other hand, gets back on her feet and begins wandering the deck. Checking barrels and crates.]
no subject
Yyyeah, that'll do.
[He knows Toothless is down there somewhere, too. Hopefully they don't make a fuss while they're all hanging out.
So the boy Viking and lady Pokemon trainer have things to check out here. He goes to start on one end farther from Cynthia, picking at some of the debris left lying there.]
no subject
And lo and behold she found something...well... ]
Hey Hiccup!
[ She holds up a skeleton hand towards the young viking. So mature.]
High five
no subject
[The old clay container Hiccup had in his hands? Gone the next moment when he drops it, letting it clatter and roll into pieces.]
–AHghdon't do that! You don't know where he's been!
no subject
Oh relax, I've dealt with my dirtier things that skeletons. Though I do find it a little strange that it's inside a barrel. Poor guy must have gotten trapped in there or something. A stowaway maybe?
[She pokes at one of the skull's teeth and watches as it comes off and rolls to one side of the deck.]
no subject
Still. It's pretty gross, finding something– or someone – lying around like that.
[A brow arches as he watches the rolling tooth momentarily before going back to poking around the other stuff.]
If he was in there, it's possible. But isn't it sort of strange to just have him sitting in there all this time?
no subject
[ She shuddered at the thought They had a real pirate in their crew after all, and thinking about physical torture made her skin crawl. Urgh.
Cynthia gently returns the skull into the barrel then drags the thing to the top of the deck where she drops it onto the water. The guy deserved a proper burial at sea, at least. ]
no subject
Egh. If that's the case, tough break.
[Trying to make light of it doesn't mean he's being heartless, but he does remain silent as Cynthia gives the skeleton its burial at sea.]
...I guess that's about all you can do for him now. Which is...nice.
