[shed been pretty alright, but Athash had more respect for people who didn't run from danger] speaking of which, Faye.... [he looked down at her with a genuinely admiring smile] you're really amazing, you know that? I...I thought for a second there that it was all over. You were wounded so I wasn't expecting any help. I cent believe you actually got onto a horse and came over there with a shot ankle...
[he glanced down at her ankle then his gaze returned to her face] that's really impressive. Thank you, Faye.

*Thash seemed to have really liked that pretty redhead, and he seemed to not really understand why it was she had rushed away like that. Faye didn't quite have the heart to tell him she was paid. Better to let him believe that he was wanted*
Most women would've done the same. I wouldn't have stayed around those dickheads if I could help it.
*Faye blinked up at his smile, then just continued on with eating bits and pieces from the tray that Thash had brought her*
Crew look after crew, that's all. And that bastard had to die. But hey, I guess we're even. I'd be raped and dead if you hadn't shown up.
*Soon as the words left her mouth, Faye shifted uncomfortably under her blanket, head bowed and voice choking slightly*

And yeah, I know most women...heck, most people don't like fighting. I used to not like it either, but if I was trying to make friends with someone I probably wouldn't take off...[he shrugged though, almost like he'd expected it]
And yeah, I guess this was another case of us saving each other, huh? [he noticed her reaction after the last thing she'd said] are you okay?
[he had an odd feeling that he should hug her or something to comfort her but he wasn't really sure . He still wasn't very good with the intricacies of social interaction yet]

*Faye readjusted her pillows behind her and shook her head, swallowing a few more grapes at the same time*
There'll be plenty more sexy redheads flirting with you soon, I'm sure.
*She hoped he wasn't going to go back to the island to try and track her down for another date or something*
Fine. i'm fine.
*Faye almost coughed the word, suddenly stacking some of the newly empty dishes onto the plate, doing something to distract herself, though one of her hands shook slightly, rattling a plate as she put it down*
no subject
[thash frowned as she said she was fine in a tone that suggested she wasn't. He noticed her hand shaking and kneeled next to her bed, putting his own hand over it to stop it and also to get her attention as he looked at her seriously]
You don't have to lie to me to make yourself look tough, Faye. [he sighed] I've done lots of lying to myself and others to look tough so I know it when I see it. Whatever it is, you can tell me.
no subject
*And that wasn't even a lie. Sure, there was the whole shark thing to take into consideration, but he certainly was attractive for a shark. Attractive by human standards too. But despite her efforts to keep the conversation breezy, Thash seemed to have detected how shaky she really was feeling.
Faye started when he put his hand on hers, glad then that she had just finished putting the dishes out of the way of the bed. But she didn't bring her eyes to meet his, just staring at their hands*
Call it what you want. I'm fine. I'm awake, aren't? Still alive?
no subject
[he thought it was completely understandable if she'd just been kind of shaken by being shot and nearly raped. That had to be scary. He didn't say his guess out loud though, thinking that would make it worse]
Yeah, you're alive and you'll recover. But for now, it's okay to express yourself.
[he wasn't sure if it was something he should do or not, but he put his free hand on her shoulder] do you want me to leave so you can rest?
no subject
Faye glanced up ever so slightly when he put a hand on her shoulder, her eyes somewhat glazed. She swallowed, unable to speak, and reached for the water, shaking her head in answer - no, she didn't want him to leave*

[he waited until she was done drinking her water, then he scooted on to the bed and hugged her. It felt really strange and he was sort of awkward at it, but he couldn't think of anything else that might help her feel better. Despite his own tenseness, he hoped it would help her relax and open up]

[he noticed the little scratches and small wounds on her sadly. His back and dorsal fin had gotten scraped pretty good from being dragged across the ground and they did sting a little bit, but not too much to ignore. Other than those his only other wound was a pretty distinct bruise around his neck]
[he felt like he should say something to her to try to cheer her up, but try as he might, he couldn't think of anything adequate. So he just leaned his head against hers softly and held her a little tighter with one arm, and his other hand rubbed her upper back lightly. He didn't realize it but his tail sort of curled up around her, too]

[after a few minutes he glanced behind them and leaned backwards until they were resting against Faye's pillows. He still hadn't said a word, nor done anything to indicate he didn't want to be doing this. He felt even more relaxed in the new position and would just stay there as long as Faye wanted him to. If she didn't do much for the next ten minutes he'd probably fall asleep like that]

For quite some time Faye rested as she was, curling herself closely against Thash, getting as comfortable as she could. She remained like this for a good few minutes, but it was just as she was about to fall completely asleep that Faye's eyes suddenly opened, as though something had suddenly woken her somehow*

Shit. That medicine. Musta knocked me out straight cold. Am I squashing you?
no subject
[he smirked a bit at her comment, glad to hear her sounding more like her normal self now]
Heh, no...I must be squishing you though, huh? It's getting late...I should probably let you rest.
[he started to let go of her and sit up]
no subject
*No, he hadn't been squishing her, and if it weren't for his blush, Faye might have lain there a few moments more. As it was, she thought maybe he wasn't comfortable with her being so close for so long, and he's started to move. So Faye sat up too, stretching out her arms ans legs lazily*
Late? Is it? I musta been passed out longer than I thought. Did you carry me back here?
no subject
[it wasn't because it was her being so close necessarily, he just wasn't used to anyone being that close. Still though, he'd come along way from when she'd first met him as far his comfort level. He seemed to slowly be getting more used to contact]
Yeah, I brought you back here after you shot that guy and passed out. You slept for a good few hours, so it's probably almost midnight...
no subject
*Faye gave another stretch, arching her back against the pillows, then crossed her legs as she sat next to him, rather than against him. But then she frowned as she turned to him, and flicked at his shoulder*
What the fuck, Thash. You were nearly killed too. Have you had enough rest? Medicine or something for this?
*Very gently, Faye touched the bruising on his neck with the tips of her fingers, barely brushing against it*
no subject
[he looked over at her as she asked if he'd had rest or medicine, holding still as she reached out for the bruise] well no, the guy only had one vial of medicine. This is less life threatening than a gunshot wound. [it did hurt but she was so gentle she didn't bother it much.] I'm sure this won't take too long to heal. It kinda hurts to swallow and it feels kinda tight but I'm okay. Sleep is probably all I need.
no subject
Her frown only deepened when he explained about the medicine. Her eyes narrowed as she glared up into his. Then her hand turned into a fist and she punched swiftly at his upper arm*
You idiot! Why didn't you tell me about the vial?! How was I supposed to know there was only one?!
no subject
Ow! Hey, what was that for? C'mon now, a hole in your ankle is way more serious than a bruise. You're not going to be able to walk until it's healed and you lost a lot of blood. All this is [he pointed to his neck] is a minor inconvenience! It was obvious that you should have the medicine so I didn't think it made sense to discuss it.
no subject
*Faye continued to glare at him for a moment or two, seemingly rather frustrated with the whole thing. She kept her frustrated green gaze on Thash's for a long while or, at least, until he really understood how annoyed she is*
no subject
Look, I know I almost died, but that doesn't mean I'm severely wounded. You can die from suffocation with almost no wounding at all, and if I don't have a big wound I don't need medicine. I dunno how strong that stuff is so if you hadn't drank the whole thing maybe it woudlnt have helped you very much. At least I can walk without my ankle hurting and run without passing out from bloodloss. Clearly you needed it more than I did.
[he sighed a bit, seeing this was getting him nowhere]
That's not even what you're mad about, is it? Are you just mad because I didn't consult with you first?
[he thought that was understandable but at the same time, giving her the medicine had made too much sense for him to want to give her the chance to argue about it]
