*Faye glanced up from where she was sat on the floor, facing the mirror on her bedside table. It appeared she'd spent some time on her makeup, dark eyes and red lips, but there were tubes rolled up in her hair, seemingly stuck to the side of her head*

Door's open.

*Since, after all, she figured it was Thash, and even if it wasn't, it wasn't as though she was doing much of anything anyway, so she didn't mind a bit of company*

Ok... [he opened the door and stepped inside] hey, what's up? Just wanted to see what y....[he trailed off, noticing some odd cylindrical objects clinging to Faye's head all over. He knew they probably weren't, but they reminded him of barnacles stuck to a ship's hull....]

what are those things stuck to your head?

[at least his reaction wasn't as dramatic as the time he'd seen her in a facial mask]

*Faye turned to him and gasped as if she didn't know, like what he was saying was a big surprise to her. She widened her eyes at him and stood up off the floor, pretending to pat her head in panic*

What? What's there? What is it? What is it?

*She stepped closer to Thash as if in shock, then grabbed at the sides of his arms dramatically*

Don't let them eat my brains!

[well he'd never seen these things before, and even though they hadn't looked dangerous her reaction worried him. With age-changing curses and raining vegetables, who said there couldn't be brain-eating pink cylinders that curled up comfortably in people's hair?]

Hold still, I'll get them off of you!

[he thought about whacking them off with his tail, but on second thought....that was a bad idea. He'd end up pulling her hair and possibly whacking the back of her head. Instead he reached up quickly, grabbing one pink cylinders carefully between his index finger and thumb claws, pulling it free in a sideways direction to avoid yanking on her hair] what is this weird thing??

[he showed it to her, ready to pull the rest off quickly if she identified it as a threat]

*For a moment, Faye will have looked genuinely panicked, unsure about what exactly he was going to do. Somehow, Thash had fallen for her acting. Though she was pretty good. She blinked at the roller that he showed her and she gasped*

Quick! Throw it on the bed! You'll have to take them all out - just like that! But be careful, or they'll use their teeth to pull out my hair!

*And hopefully he'd pull them all out properly, and hopefully it would reveal a head full of glamorous curls. That's what they were supposed to do, so said the lady in the hair salon*

Okay! [the thing in his claws wasn't moving...was it really dangerous? Well Faye seemed convinced it was, so he was determined to get them all off. It did seem kinda prickly...maybe it was like a sea urchin. They were prickly and didn't move much]

[he pulled them all off her head in a few seconds, moving quickly to slide them out of her hair sideways like te first one then throw them on the bed, when he was done, he stared at her hair with wide eyes]

Faye I'm sorry to tell you this but.... I think they must have secreted some kind of slime in your hair. It's staying in the shape it was when their bodies were wrapped up in it...

*That was certainly much easier than doing it herself. He somehow managed to do it without any tugging or tangling, which was also probably better than if she'd done it herself. When he told her about the curls, Faye had to work hard at keeping a straight face. It was just so adorable the way he said it that she found she had to even fight the urge to hug him for how cute that was*

Oh no! Does it look scary or strange?

*Then she bent over so that she could see in her mirror, tilting her head this way and that*

What do you think?

Scary or strange? [he tilted his head a bit, scratching his chin] no, not really. Just...different. It's kinda interesting actually.

[she didn't seem worried anymore a he calmed down a bit, glancing over at the curlers on her bed every few seconds...just to make sure they weren't about to leap through the air to attack her head again]

You don't think the slime will like... Soak through your head and dissolve your brain do you?

*Faye had been intending on telling Thash what the rollers were, and explaining what they were for. But he continued to talk about the slime, and it was just still so adorable that she really couldn't help herself. Faye smiled at him gently and shook her head*

No. I think I'll be okay. I just need to get rid of these... Just in case.

*And so she scooped up the rollers and dropped them back into the little plastic bag they were in, then dramatically zipped it shut*

There. That should do it.

[he watched carefully as she scooped them up, making sure they weren't going to bite or cling to her. When she zipped the bag, he raised an eyebrow]

Really, that's it? But what if they poke a hole in the bag and escape while you're sleeping to go after your head again? I think we should throw them overboard...

*Faye laughed as she looked in the mirror again, undecided still on how she felt about her curly hair. Standing in front of him she grinned and shook her head*

They're not creatures, sweetie. They're called rollers. You stick them in your hair to make it curly. So we're both safe, unless you wanna try them, but I don't think they'll suit you.

*Then she gave a cute smile and a wink, just in case he got mad at her for teasing him*

[he didn't look so sure at first, giving her an almost skeptical look]

....so they're not alive. [he raised an eyebrow at her cute smile and wink, then took a closer look at the pink things in the bag...yep, they looked like hollow plastic. So, she'd been 'pulling his tail'...he couldn't be mad at something so ridiculous and actually laughed at his own gullibility]

Hahahahh! Ah man, I fell for it....you really had me convinced. [he gave another chuckle, shaking his head]

And no, I don't think I'll try them. The curly hair definitely looks...feminine.

[although he'd been thinking about cutting the back of his hair. Having it long didn't really serve any purpose, and it's length wasn't distinctly masculine either]

*She was pretty relieved that he wasn't angry at her - this didn't count as lying, then, and that was good, knowing that she could still wind him up like this. She laughed along with and grinned*

Good, I'm glad you agree.

*Still, she tugged lightly on the ends of her new curls, and glanced at them uncertainly*

Though...I don't know if it's worked so well for me. Maybe my hair is too short.

Hm, I dunno either. I guess I never paid that much attention to the hairstyles of human women. But most of the ones that attacked me were around your age and none of them had short curly hair. There was one with long curly hair; that looked nice...I think I saw an older human lady with short curly hair once? [he shrugged. He didn't like the curls more than her normal hairstyle but considered himself a pretty poor judge of such things]

*Long curly hair looked nice, that was something she had to keep in mind. But the rest of what Thash said hardly made her feel any better, and she flopped down onto her bed with a displeased groan, kicking the back of curlers on her way down*

Great. So my short curly hair isn't the hair of someone who would attack you, but is the hair of an old lady.

Wow. So I won't be doing that again. Hmm. At least they were free.

*Faye kicked the bag again, so that the curlers disappeared under the bed. Then she looked back at Thash questioningly*

So, besides saving me from pink creatures in my hair, did you come by for any particular reason?

W-well I didn't mean that...like I said, I didn't pay that much attention. There were probably plenty of ladies your age with hair like that, I just didn't notice it cuz they didn't attack me...and I only noticed that old lady cuz she reminded me of the old Aquarian lady that took me in for a bit....

[he laughed a bit at her question] not in particular. I've just been working on various stuff and felt like taking a break and seeing what you were doing. My shoulder and back are feeling pretty good today by the way...I can tell they're healing quickly already thanks to you.

[he glanced over at her blanket, seeing the faint darkening where it had been stained by his blood. He'd told her when he returned them that he'd get her some more at the next suitable port, though. At least the blood on her floor had come up completely]

*Nope. That still seemed not to do much to make her feel better about her failed hair attempts. Still, at least it'll be flat again by tomorrow. She did look pleased to hear that he was healing and getting better, and managed a small smile*

Good. I'm glad. But you know this means that you can't go running headlong into any more fights? Not until you're fully healed, at the very least. I've had enough blood all over the place, thank you very much.

*Her eyes travelled to the space in her blanket that he as looking at too, glad at the prospect that he'd get her some new ones. She didn't feel great about having a blood stain on her bed, after all*

Speaking of which, how about that forfeit of mine, hmm? If it's gonna last a month, then I might want it over and done with as soon as possible.

Hahah...well, if a fight breaks out I'm not gonna hide from it. But I'll try not to come back to the ship bleeding next time if possible. If it makes you feel any better, I don't think these straw hats want to fight us as seriously as the crew of theTriton's Mistress. I exchanged a few blows with one of their guys named Luffy and didn't get any serious wounds at all before he just started...chatting with me in a friendly way. It was kinda funny. Then he peacefully returned to his ship. He have me a good punch on the jaw, but at least he didn't slash me or try to blow me up...

[at the mention of the bet he looked towards her, his tail twitching a bit] so you wanna start it immediately huh? Most of the next month will be during the race. I dunno if I can really get my month's worth out of you while that's going on...[he said with a small grin]

Don't think you can come running to me to get stitched up every time, because I am NOT making a habit out of that. My bed, you know, is not supposed to be some kind of hospital surgery. But you're right, the Straw Hats are cuties, even Luffy, though he is weird. Akira's over there, so even if the crew are out to win, I'm very sure that Akira won't be planning on hurting me.

*Faye watched his tail, then looked to his smile, trying to figure out what was going on there. But she did like how wily he was being, and that made her smirk*

Oh yeah? That's how it is? Well, it's not up to me how it works, is it? You're the winner, so your terms. We can wait three weeks until the end of the month if you like...

*Not that she was setting this up to sound like a challenge or anything, and she just snuggled up into her pillows*

Aw, really? [he seemed a little disappointed by that] well I'm fine with bleeding and healing in my own bed next time, but I'll have to sew myself back up too? Darn... Hm, maybe Strider or Arthur would give me a hand. I guess it's not very nice of me to expect you to do it every time...

So Akira's on the Straw Hats' crew? Hah, that's kinda ironic. I didn't know...didn't even see him at the race start or at port chance. Wonder if he's laying low or just busy with stuff?

My terms huh...well I'd like for at least around half of it to not be during the race. How about we start it in about a week? If that's not too torturously long to make you wait... [he smirked a bit] I may or may not decide to tell you what the request is before starting it... Hm, I wonder if you'd tell me what you would have asked me if you won? [he played it pretty cool but honestly he was dying to know]

*Faye raised a brow at his apparent disappointment* No, not really. Of course I'd help you. But only if I have to. I sew buttons, not shark skin. But for definite we can do it in your room next time, or the bathroom might be easier.

I saw Akira at Port Chance. He's not exactly excited about the whole race thing.

You want me to wait a week? That's fine by me. *Faye made a shrug like it was no big deal to her. It wasn't so much the doing of the forfeit, but the knowing what he wanted her to do*

Maybe... if I knew what you wanted me to do, I'd tell you what I'd ask in exchange...

Heh, ok good...if a guy did it, I doubt they'd have as careful hands as you. You certainly did a much better job than I would have doing it myself... [of course Arthur would probably be good at it since he could see clothing, he thought. But he'd still rather Faye do it... He didn't like the idea of showing pain and weakness in front of the first mate.]

He doesn't like the idea of the race huh? Wonder why not...well, actually I probably know. Competition between pirates practically encourages fighting, that's probably why. The guy should learn to enjoy a good brawl...it doesn't always have to be about killing. I guess it's a good thing he's got such morals, though. If he let himself like violence too much, he'd probably be dangerous around a full moon.

[he raised an eyebrow at her proposition] hmmm... I guess we could do that.... Maybe [he started thinking about it a bit. He wasn't so sure she'd like his request at first and would rather have her looking ahead in anxious curiosity than dread. He was confident she'd like it eventually but yeah... We wasn't getting his hopes up for a positive reaction when he first told her]

It honours me that you'd rather have my hands do it than a guy's hands...

*She laughed a little and smiled at him* Not everyone out there likes a 'good brawl', you know. But he was feeling kinda crappy anyway when I spoke to him. He has a special lady friend back home that he misses.

*Hmm... She had hoped that he'd just have told her what he had planned, but that didn't seem to be the case. Faye shrugged again and leaned further back on her pillows*

Yeah. Maybe. So just let me know when you're ready, and I'll tell you mine. Of course, it could be that you're not interested anyway, since you don't have to do it now. But the offer's still there for whenever you decide to share your plans...

Heheh fighting can be really fun to me...I was enjoyin' myself with that guy under the Triton's Mistress Till that jerk on deck started throwing explosive crap. 'Course, he probably wasn't having quite as much fun...he was probably running out of air by the end there. [he shrugged a bit] I guess after so much fighting in my life I had to learn to enjoy it or be miserable. At least I don't enjoy killing so much as to do it without good cause. [...when he was sober anyway. He tried to avoid thinking of how close he'd come to killing that guy in the bar]

Sucks that he's missing a girl though. He probably wants to go back home...

[he scratched his head a bit, thinking it'd be fun to drag the mystery on a little longer] And yeah. I think I'll go ahead and wait...sorry, heheh. You'll just have to keep guessing at what horrible or depraved thing Im going to have you do...

Hmm. I wonder if he'd say the same thing about enjoying the fight... Maybe I'll ask him if I ever get the chance. *She smiled at him and nodded, knowing that she thought about fighting in the same way, at least when she was winning* Yeah, for that you might as well learn to love it.

*He was going to make her wait, which was really not what she wanted. She was beginning to pout when he said the word 'depraved' and she burst into laughter* Depraved? Hahaha! Oh, oh no. Now I'm trembling at that the thought of what depraved thing you'll make me do! *Clearly, she found the idea of Thash thinking depraved thoughts was hilarious, mostly because she couldn't imagine him coming up with anything truly 'depraved' for her.'
