What: VACATION. They've had a rough summer so it's time for some downtime. There are water parks, beaches, and an obligatory onsen, so mix and mingle with the super-happy (and young and pretty) locals and have some fun!

[Gan Ning promised his ragtag crew a party, and by god, they were going to have a party. It might have been worth it to hold on Isla Empieza, to mingle with other crews there, but there wasn't much going on there to stick around for. He heard from someone in the harbor about this island and decided it would make a great place for a party.

Somewhere along the way Raphael disappeared, sadly, but the rest of them continued on. They had already put off partying for too many reasons - a poor showing in the race, other crewmates disappearing, Cynthia's rescue from the clutches of giant spiders, and so on. No more. This time, they were just going to put down anchor, hang out on the beach, make some ice cream, and have a good time. Besides, with Tsuzuki joining the crew, they had to show him that they knew how to stick together, right?

Beach party on the 25th

[Setting up a small party for the crew attracts attention, so it's entirely possible their relaxing, bonding time may be interrupted by beautiful people in swimsuits who want to taste the ice cream and dance around the bonfire with them. It would be rude to turn them away, right? Especially the girls in bikinis.

It's an actual party, though, and Gan Ning personally has seen to it that aside from Gaius' ice cream, nobody in his crew had to do the work. He has the money, after all, he can hire people to cook and serve food they'll all enjoy. It's a late afternoon/evening affair, with food and goofing off on the beach followed by a bonfire. Mingle!]

Parties! Tsuzu likes parties!

[Tsuzuki had noticed Gan Ning was up to something, and thanks to his nifty sneak abilities, he followed the captain all the way to the beach. What was he going to do with all that ice cream? The sweets-holic wanted to make sure there wasn't a purpose before he asked for some. Then...]

[His amethysts sparkled at the sight on the beach. Was this a party? What were they celebrating? Oh, new guy was always the last to know! He tried to find a spot to pop out of before shifting to normal. He literally appeared out of nowhere, if Gan Ning noticed. That was Ghost Mode for you...]

Hey! Gan Ning! What's the occation, my friend? That's a lot of ice cream you got there! Haha!

[Ning is mostly supervising, hands on hips, but he turns and grins when Tsuzuki comes up]

Yeah, well, I made a promise to the kid and now I'm deliverin'. Roxas, I mean. He's been buggin' me about this ice cream stuff for ages, and Gaius finally figured out how to make it.

We're havin' a party, so don't go nowhere, all right?

Who would miss out on a party? Sounds like crazy talk, Gan Ning! Haha!

[Tsuzuki laughed. Seriously, the thought of missing out on free sweets and fun sounds like madness to him. He was the prince of escapism, and this was usually want he would be escaping into.]

Roxas mentioned he liked sea salt ice cream when we met. It is a nice treat. Who is Gaius though? I don't think I've met him yet.

[as long as everything here is taken care of, Ning turns to hang out and chat. Things are getting started, anyway, and some of the locals are drifting over to see if they can join in.]

Gaius? Oh, he's one of the magic guys on the ship. Good fighter, but he uses magic too. He's in the galley a lot, Lea's the main cook but Gaius likes sweet stuff so he's always in there bakin' and stuff.

Sweets?

[Remember his face when you mentioned diamonds would pay for his booze, Gan? Well, he's making it now. Booze and sweets, could he be in a better paradise? He needed to meet this Gaius...]

I love home-made sweets... I'll have to try his some time. Hm! In the mean time, I must say you are a very considerate captain to think of your crew like this. They all speak so highly of you, and I already was surprised that you were a captain when we first spoke. You're so down to earth. I hope I can contribute some more in the future. I can't stay a greenhorn forever. Haha!

Nah, don't worry about it. [he shrugs a bit, not used to such nice compliments.] I'm just doin' what I think is best for my guys. Always have. The world in general was never good to guys like me, fourth sons and orphans and anyone else who didn't fit in to the imperial order and took up piracy instead. Ain't no reason to be a jerk to my crew, really.

[Look it's another party! Parties are some of the best social experiments to watch really. Roxas does take some of the food, meat with a bunch of sweets but most importantly, ice cream and finds himself a chair on the fringe and settles into it. He sits backwards so he can lean on the back of it and watch people. Everybody looks like they're having a nice time.]

[he's half into his cups by the time he spots Roxas in his wallflower spot, and comes up behind him, putting a foot up on the arm of the chair so he can lean on it.]

Hey! How's the party, how's the ice cream and everything?

It's good! I like the ice cream. It's almost like the stuff at home. Even though it's not a bar.

[He seems content just to watch people even though it doesn't seem like fun. He would have fun but he isn't sure what he should be doing and it isn't like he can get away with drinking. Lea would catch him.]

Almost, huh? Guess Gaius'll just have to work harder to get it right. Like he's gonna complain about makin' more ice cream.

[As long as Roxas is cheerful and looks to be enjoying himself, Ning won't make him do anything he doesn't want to. If he wants to sit, he can sit.]

Man, there's a lotta pretty girls on this island. I kinda like it here.

I don't really know anything about girls.

[Helpful, really. Roxas smiles and watches though.]

What do you want with the girls?

What, really? [Roxas' question makes him laugh] Girls are nice! They're soft and cute and they giggle if you touch 'em in the right places...

And then there's the other stuff. You do know about the other stuff, right?

[It had been a lot of work, but Gaius was something of a perfectionist when it came to sweets, and he certainly didn't want to settle for runner-up when trying to get the flavors right for the seasalt ice cream that Roxas had been so fond of.

Work isn't something he generally minds, at least, but when it's a product like this, he's just as pleased to see people able to enjoy it. That's the pay off, right there.

...although if he has to be honest about it, he'd say it's about fifty-fifty between that and being able to enjoy the fruits of his labor.]

[Gan Ning does make sure to find the time to come up and clap Gaius on the shoulder]

[he ducks between people to serve himself some, just a taste for now]

[Laughing, Gaius watches the man slip towards where the desserts are. He cups his hands to holler after him.]

Hey, grab me some too while you're at it!

But you already...oh all right.

[seriously, Gaius, how do you say so slim and trim eating all those sweets. Ning comes back with some for both of them, Gaius's serving might be a little larger. Because, you know.]

Thanks for goin' to the trouble, man. I think the kid's really happy. He gets the party he wanted and the ice cream...

[Ariel was pretty happy that the party was beach side actually. It made it easier for her to get there. Which is the place she wanted to be, anywhere that the crew was. She is a creature of emotions and she falls for people very fast. Grows attached to a group fast, so it' no wonder she grew so attached to these people.]

[When one leaves, it's almost heart breaking, and they'd lost people, so she liked being around crew as much as possible.]

[SO have a green finned red headed mermaid on the beach, a blue and white stripped bikini top worn now. She's resting on a log around the bonfire, elbows on it and grinning, watching the fire dance. So this was fire. It was so warm. She'd sen it now that she had been here, but she can't help but be enchanted by it every time she can get close to it. Siiigh]

[Other then her bonfire watching, she stays out of water for the most part, seated here or stretchered out there and generally laughing at the locals or the crew and having a good time.]

[the locals are definitely fascinated by a mermaid, so likely Ariel doesn't have to worry about attention, but Gan Ning makes a point to stick close by for a while just in case. At least, until he's had enough to drink that his worries all melt away, and then it's just a matter of jingling past now and then when the dancing takes him that way.

At one point he does flop onto the other end of her log to catch his breath]

Whew! Now this is what I call a party! Havin' fun, Ariel?

[She doesn't notice the protective eye over her. She just giggles and talks with the locals while they are fascinated and then sighs a breath of relief when they are too drunk to care anymore or have gone off to dance.]

[She wishes she could dance. Dancing looks fun.]

[When Gan Ning does dance by, he might see her clapping along with the beat or giggling, and when he drops in to take a breath she beams]

I'm having a wonderful time, Xingba, thank you! Everyone has been really nice.

Yeah? Nobody givin' ya any trouble? Good! Good, I didn't wanna hafta get rough with anybody.

[he does need a break, so he's going to sit there to catch his breath and maybe sober up a little]

Turned out to be a pretty good party.

[her fin flipped a bit behind her, a sign that she was happy with the company anyhow. She leaned on her arms and smiled up at him]

If anyone was giving me trouble, the sea isn't that far for me to reach. You wouldn't have to get rough with anyone. but people have been great. Lots of questions at first. But you're right, it's been a great party! I hope everyone's been enjoying themselves.
