Battle On Th' High Seas

Who: Anyone who wants to partake
Where: In the waters between Turvey Top and Ebony & Ivory
When: October 17th 2pm-6pm
What: Battle, mayhem, treasure and piracy
Warnings: Violence
Status: Very open!
Around 1:45pm, ships gathered in the waters between Turvey Top and Ebony & Ivory will see the gigantic Naval frigate, the Argustos, chugging through the calm waters to destinations unknown. Close by and running a little ahead on the wind is a Naval scout ship, caravel class, named Pantopes.
Sharp eyes will be able to spot the ships on the Argustos' tail, though, and the giant frigate will weigh anchor to prepare for the attack of the Corpse King and his five ship Armada, made of three caravels and two brig sloops.
The Corpse King himself has a brig sloop, Achlys and will be at the back end of the battle, providing cover fire.
Feel free to attack to your heart's content and loot wherever you wish. There's great treasures there for the bold and daring, and most unpleasant deaths for the unwary.

The canons balls from the other ship are narrowly missing her as she stands, blowing up crates behind her, but their own aren't holding back either. There was a hug rope swung from the other ship and she dashed to catch it. She spotted Thash slicing and dicing through the throng of enemy. She checked the rope before swinging herself to the enemy ship, slamming her feet in the enemy's face and right into the mast of the ship, mere inches away from Thash.]

Kat! What's up...come to join the fun huh? [he flashed a grin then turned to swing his blade against the swords of a couple of attackers, forcing them back. He was glad to see Kat- it'd be nice to fight near a skilled crew member he could trust]
no subject
You didn't think I'd miss out on it, did you?[With a laugh, she dashed towards the running enemy, the slightly curved tip of her blades cutting and pulling out their throats in a swift, bloody manner. She thought she'll have time to do counting, just for fun, but the adrenaline and battle frenzy didn't let her.]

Our training matches are fun but it's not so bad to be able to have a real fight now and then....[he caught the wrist of someone trying to stab him in the side, jerking his body out in front of him to bite the back of his neck quickly]
too bad most of them are so unskilled though...
[he did wonder if they'd encounter some strong fighters on the corpse king' crew though...maybe they just hadn't drawn them out yet]

It was from corner of her eye that she noticed several of them pushing one very big canon towards the edge of the ship, probably ready to blast it at theirs. She used shunpo to return to Thash and pat him on the shoulder.]
Those six look like they want to swim with the fishes. [Along with their canon. They better send them flying overboard before they blow up their ship.]
no subject
[he looked at Kat quickly when she appeared behind him and he felt her hand. Then he glanced in the direction she gestured with a nod]
Yeah, I agree. Let's take 'em down.
[he swung his sword in a wide arc to get some other enemies to back off long enough for him to run towards those hauling the cannon. He wasn't exactly stealthy so one of them shouted to the others when they saw him (and Kat if she ran beside him) coming, pointing anxiously. They stopped their pushing momentarily to face the approaching threat]
no subject
Push the canon in the sea! I got your back!
[She slowed down and took a step behind Thash, a slim dagger easily slipping between her fingers. In a metal flurry, they flew past Thash's head, not slicing even a single hair from his head, each one of them landing perfectly where she aimed them- eyes, throat, middle of the foreheads.
Three that were in the front fell dead, clearing the path for Thash, and the rest of them backed off towards the edge. She caused enough commotion to drag the attention from Thash to her so that he can get rid of that big canon.]
no subject
[it was slightly alarming to have the daggers fly past his head like that, but he thought back to watching her train and how accurate her aim was...that reminded him that he had nothing to worry about.]
[When he reached the cannon the first thing he did was jump up on top of it in order to avoid the men on either side and reach the railing behind it. He brought his sword down over his head like an executioner's axe onto the railing, sending splinters flying. A few more chops would have the railing busted up enough that he figured he could push the canon through it. He then got back up onto the canon to run to the other side of it before he could get successfully attacked]
[once he was in position to push it, he had to put down his sword...it was so heavy it would take all his strength to move it by himself. He glanced around quickly just to make sure no one was right up close, then placed his trust in Kat to keep people off him and started pushing. He gave a growl as he shoved with all his might at first, till the huge cannon started moving. It was a little easier once it was rolling and he moved it steadily towards the broken railing]

The 'Death Lotus'. She tried using it before here, but unlike back home, it seemed to tire her out more than usual. Still- she can't let these guys walk nor she wants to die a pathetic death. So she concentrates and crouches low, extending her leg all the way so she can make a full swing upwards, taking off in a strong jump. While in mid-air, the daggers flew from her hands in one smooth motion, on every side of her where she spotted the enemy.
As she landed on her feet, they all fell around her. She was out of breath, her hands feeling a bit numb. But the enemy is gone so she turns towards Thash to see if he needs help with canon.]
no subject
Holy crap, Kat... Nice!!
[Impressed, he ran quickly to pick up his sword and join her. There were sure to be more men to replace those that had fallen]
no subject
Don't get.. used to it. I can't pull that move often in this world.
[She looks around, trying to asses the situation. Their ship is showering this with canons, making decent damage, but the men don't seem to dwindle down on their numbers. She frowns-]
What are we after on this ship? Just taking it down or we need to find something...someone? [Yes, she's here and has no idea what the task is. She's craved some action.]
no subject
Well there was never any thorough discussion, but I assumed the goal was to take out this Hawtry 'corpse king' guy...the captain of this small attacking fleet and probably on this ship somewhere.
no subject
So, a regular hack'n'slash situation? We will find the Hawtry fucker and take him down.
no subject
[by now the small fry were starting to attack again, though with a little less fervor now that their dead were literally all over the deck. Thash paused in the conversation to hit the blade out of one attacker's hands and slash him across the chest, nearly cutting all the way through his body]
Not that I'm unwilling to try it or anything- just sayin' we can't expect an easy fight.
[though knowing Kat that would probably only excite her more. He was getting a little excited himself just thinking about it]
no subject
The bigger they are, the harder they fall and the better sound they make.
[The thought of getting down someone like that indeed sets her blood on fire. After spending weeks of sitting around, this is like Christmas coming early.]
no subject
[true, the higher the challenge the more exciting it would be for him...but also more dangerous. As much fun as he was having, he didn't think of fighting and bloodshed as a game. Just a necessary and enjoyable fact of life. He picked off a few more enemy crew, getting pretty blood covered in the process. That only served to up his heart rate a little bit more]
Well if you're going in after him, I'll go with you. I've got no idea where he is exactly, but we can probably hunt him down.
[he hadn't been real keen on looking for the corpse king on his own, especially after promising a certain someone he'd try to come back in one piece. But with Kat along, he felt like the chance of success was much higher]
Any idea where we should start?
no subject
Probably below the deck. Most of the force went down, probably to regroup. We can't let them do that.
[She crouches next to the mast, setting the hand on the deck, trying to think, to remember stuff she learned from the experience-]
He's probably somewhere where he can dish out orders- close enough to hold all the strings in his grasp, and away just enough so that we can't reach him by normal means or with just one person.
no subject
[he watched her think for a moment, glad it seemed like her training or knowledge gave her at least an idea where to look in this situation. He still couldn't infer what kind of a place she might be referring to though by what she said]
So, um.... Do you think you know of a place like that below the deck? Or should we just charge down there and look.
[finding one person on a ship that he didn't know the scent of wasn't his strong point]
no subject
Gun deck. [She stands up- it was simple. The place was big enough for men to gather and move around. Enough to get it cramped enough to make it almost impossible to get to the back line of the gun deck.]
Captain's cabin has easy access to it, right? He can issue canon fire and regroup the troops at the same time from there.
no subject
[this ship was bigger than theirs and likely had a different layout, but the gun deck wouldn't be hard to find...not with constant cannon fire to guide them to its location]
[there were a few crew coming up and obstructing their way (perhaps to keep them away from the regrouping) but not nearly as many as before. Thash charged towards them, wasting no time in slashing and biting his way through them until the path belowdecks was open]
Alright, let's go!
no subject
Heads up fuckers, for you're going down.
[She kicked the last one, making him tumble down the stairs and jumping down in one swift move. The enemies came from left and right, swinging at them. She'd suggest they split, but it doesn't seem smart if Hawtry guy is as strong as Thash says. So she gets her sword and proceeds to make carnage right where she stands.]
no subject
[the enemies seemed to get more desperate as they saw their fellows fall, but that didn't help them have any more success. If anything it made them weaker and the bodies started to like up. Only when Thash and Kat had a circular pile of bodies around them several corpses deep did the living ones start to back off in fear. However, there was someone down there behind them all that would have none of it. They'd hear a voice shouting at the crew members to charge and stop being cowards.... Thash wondered who that yelling person might be; clearly they were higher ranking than the standard guys they'd been mowing down]
no subject
[She stood there, in the middle of blood bath, covered in said blood from head to toe but she doesn't seem to be bothered by it one bit. As suspected, just below the deck, at the canon area, their enemy seemed to regroup. And they would have succeeded if Thash and Kat didn't dive in and made a slaughter. She didn't seem very tired but she did had a wary aura about her.
She once made a mistake by charging in without thinking. She has a scar on her eye to prove it. She decides to get them rid of any and all enemy that could stand in their way. When there was none- either dead or scrambling a deck below, she turned towards Thash.]
no subject
[When the relentless assault stopped he glanced at Kat too, then jumped over the pile of bodies and looked for the corpse king...though he wasn't sure what the guy would look like, he was expecting to see someone that looked like a Captain. Instead, he saw three more crew members. These were different though. They weren't charging but they did not look remotely scared]
Think we might've finally flushed out some strong fighters here...
[he raised his bloody blade, glaring at the three blocking their progress]
no subject
[But the yelling had stopped which indicated that the bastard had moved. To where, she doesn't know because before they could go after him, three soldiers appeared, not looking too shabby. Underestimating the opponent is not something Katarina can afford to herself.
She whiffs her blades around her, the excess blood landing at the walls and gets into stance-]
If we lose too much time on these three, bastard might escape. Let's do this swiftly.
