Battle On Th' High Seas

Who: Anyone who wants to partake
Where: In the waters between Turvey Top and Ebony & Ivory
When: October 17th 2pm-6pm
What: Battle, mayhem, treasure and piracy
Warnings: Violence
Status: Very open!
Around 1:45pm, ships gathered in the waters between Turvey Top and Ebony & Ivory will see the gigantic Naval frigate, the Argustos, chugging through the calm waters to destinations unknown. Close by and running a little ahead on the wind is a Naval scout ship, caravel class, named Pantopes.
Sharp eyes will be able to spot the ships on the Argustos' tail, though, and the giant frigate will weigh anchor to prepare for the attack of the Corpse King and his five ship Armada, made of three caravels and two brig sloops.
The Corpse King himself has a brig sloop, Achlys and will be at the back end of the battle, providing cover fire.
Feel free to attack to your heart's content and loot wherever you wish. There's great treasures there for the bold and daring, and most unpleasant deaths for the unwary.

[Roxas smiles cheerfully.]
Wow, you really do have three swords at the same time. Was it hard to learn?
[That's the only question he has for now, he swears. There's Navy people all around them and they're not going to have much time for questions now.]
no subject
But, no way. This kid? This is a girl!]
Kind of a crazy time to be asking questions about my training.
[easy for him to say with a sword in his teeth. Zoro shifts to put his back to his little helper, in order to protect her from the hordes of soldiers who don't seem to care that their attacker is female.]
no subject
[He isn't worried about people coming up on him, he's quick. Not as quick as he normally is, because his steps are somewhat off. Even just feeling his hips move strangely drives him crazy. There isn't much he can do about it now, he's being engaged by one of the soldiers and with two swings he's cutting into him and moving onto the next.
There sure are a lot of them.]
no subject
How does the bullet split exactly in half when it contacts the sword? The world may never know.]
no subject
[It's a good trick and Roxas appreciates it because he doesn't want to spend any more time injured. It's so boring when he can't move around like he wants.
A soldier lands a blow on him from behind and turns, swinging his keyblade. Someone else attacks from his other side and he materializes Oathkeeper too, to block the blow.
There are an awful lot of them, he considers after fending off the two on him at once.]
I have an idea. I think I should use my magic to thin this out.
[He's feeling worn down enough.]
no subject
[allrighty then. Zoro keeps his back to Roxas', providing a perimeter. The Navy guys are starting to not want to get too close to his blades, and now they're close enough to fend off attackers on Roxas' side, too.]
All right, just warn me if I need to duck or something.
no subject
[Roxas is in a good position, Zoro at his back but there are more people in front of him then behind him and that's what he wants. He tightens the grip on his keyblades and takes a deep breath.]
Here we go. Don't move.
[There's only a moment before several columns of light are appearing out of nowhere and causing destruction, tearing up planks on the deck, smashing the railing and causing devastation among the ranks, leaving many of the soldiers in front of him wounded.]
no subject
It definitely clears the crowd, but it also makes for much more uncertain footing on the deck around them. Oh well. They have a moment in which to take a breath and get ready for whatever's next.]
Effective. You okay?
no subject
I can only use my magic twice so I have to make it count. Well the light magic anyway. I'm fine though.
[He also vanishes Oathkeeper while he's at it.]
no subject
Zoro glances back at him]
What crew are you with? I can get you back to your ship if you need a break.
no subject
I'm a Hazmat. I don't need a break, I'll be fine in a second. We've met before!
[Everyone should be impressed he remembered.]
no subject
...huh?]
Wait. Are you...
[wait for it. WAIT FOR IT]
...Roxas' sister?
no subject
Nope! Just Roxas. I met an old lady and she cursed me when I got mad at her for bugging me. So I'm a girl for now...
I can't have any family anyway, I'm a Nobody.
no subject
[strangely, he gets it. He remembers someone on the journals once talking about some island where men got turned into women (and let's never go there Luffy, ever), so he's able to understand that right off the bat. He's good. Zoro shrugs and turns his attention back to the regrouping Navy, who might be ready for another round.]
Bad luck there, then. Hope it wears off. Is that why you look like you're not fighting at full strength?
no subject
I'm trying but I just turned like this and moving is really weird. You know - well, I guess you don't, but girls move differently and we kinda got involved here before I could practice.
[He sighs a little.]
And I can really feel the weight of my keyblade. I never noticed before. That's why I'm sticking to one unless I have to. At least my magic hasn't changed.
no subject
Sounds like a good way to train up. Girls can be just as strong as guys, don't let that stop you.
[of course, he's a level above so it's easy for him to say. The frigate is heavily-armed and staffed and there are plenty of fresh troops coming up from below-decks to try to repel the invaders.]
We got work to do here, for our crews. Let's go!
[he springs off without waiting, cutting right into the front line and bowling them over, sending men flying this way and that.]
no subject
[Roxas nods, here they come indeed. He pushes off after Zoro, barely a step behind. If there's one thing he's been trained on all this time, it's fighting. He's comfortable swinging his keyblade into this person or that person as long as they're the enemy to him. Some of them are challenging and have some skill, enough to trade blows with. Those are the more interesting fights.]
no subject
And then his foot sinks into a cracked portion of the deck, and he's stuck. Oops.]

Finally, there's a break in the action just long enough for him to slice across the wood and free his foot, and he takes out his annoyance on the next Navy guy to try to take advantage of it. It's an officer, a commander of some rank who also has two swords. Zoro moves easily around Roxas to pick up where he left off, grunting behind the sword in his mouth a sort of 'thanks' as he goes.]
no subject
Suddenly Roxas finds himself on the defensive, which for him is a horrible place to be. He can't catch his footing well enough to turn the tide. Even the reappearance of Oatheeper does nothing for him. He's being overwhelmed by someone. It's pushing him to take steps backwards, to put space between him and Zoro as well. This man is particularly good. It's bound to happen, Roxas can't possibly be the best in the world, but it's only serving to make him frustrated. He begins to hit harder, but it's a little wilder too. Anger doesn't really help his skills all that much.]
no subject
He slashes hard to push off his own opponent and then twists his body, bringing two swords over the third and then spiraling out of the stance to unleash a 108-Pound Cannon across the deck. It's an invisible attack, a rush of cutting air, but if Roxas needs to, all he has to do is shove his guy backwards into it. Other peons are already falling along the path of the Cannon, cuts and slashes appearing on their bodies as if out of nowhere.
The officer he was fighting sees this and yelps something about a Demon's Egg, about a pirate who used that same attack. Zoro turns to glare at him, and grin.]
No, I'm not her. That's no Demon's Egg, that's just me.
[and he launches himself at the surprised officer with renewed vigor]
no subject
Zoro definitely deserves his thanks after this. He whirls around again to take on some more men but the numbers are thinning at last. There can only be so many men on this particular ship after all. It's just as well because this is something of an endurance run and he's going to reach his limit sooner or later. He can already feel the twinge in his shoulder.]
no subject
He backs over to where Roxas is, keeping his swords at the ready]
You guys are here for the shard too, huh? Where do you think they're keeping it?
no subject
Yeah, I think that's what we came for, but I dunno. I think Gaius is going to get it. I'm not good at finding stuff, or remembering to get stuff. I just take people out.
